  8. Try Suncorp. Had mine insured with all mods and payed like 500 a year with 350 excess. But I am over 30. One benefit of getting older....
  9. 1.Go and install a big stereo in your car 2. Go and record a Skyline revving the engine 3. Play disc on your Corolla's stereo. 4. Corolla sounds like a Skyline. But to be honest a 2JZ sounds way better than a Skyline.(especially with big boost!!)
  10. Tell me was it a genuine Clutch?? Or after market?? Did it fix the probs?? I get the feeling its the push rod on the slave cylinder on the clutch it doesn't feel like it disengaging at high revs. Tho if i go from 4th to 2nd skipping 3rd she gets a crunch even at low revs . It just doesn't fee; like i think it should i have to say i drive alot of different cars everyday and the sportivos gear selecting is not as easy as i think it should be Gear selection is a the push rod on the slave cylinder being out of adjustment. I've already had that done previously and it did fix the problem. I had other gearbox issues with synchro's etc etc that simply didn't work and got worse very quick. Clutch was replaced with a standard Toyota item.
  11. I did but I know how to get what I want ;) I got new clutch kit, flywheel machined and new 2nd gear assembly,5th gear assembly and new 6th gear assembly(plus all synchros) all under warranty with 83 500km's on the clock.

  13. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...p?showtopic=711 should answer most of your questions...
  14. Collectors are pretty rough for sure!!! Competition coatings is who does all the coatings for CES now that HPC at Brendale has closed down. If you have done porting before then it's a relatively straight forward thing to do but if you haven't then leave it to the professionals as it's very easy indeed to make a mess of it or at worse do yourself an injury. Plus if you don't have the cutting tips needed or a die grinder then you will prolly need to spend a couple of hundred to buy everything anyway.... TRD headers were basically designed to work as a package with their 2L stroker kits hence why the primary pipes are slightly larger in diameter. The design of the TRD headers is the same as the stock ones anyway.
  15. 2ZZ rear wheel drive in an early Sprinter.... nice and light!!!
  16. Give CES a call as I know they have a few sets sitting there. So you may be able to get them to send you a set with a security deposit then you fit them and send your set back and they refund you the deposit? Give them a call cause that's the only way to know for sure. As for gains the low to mid range is very very noticable. You can short shift easily and still accelerate with the touch of the throttle when at lower rpm in a taller gear. I could literally drive around town and not go over 3000rpm all day short shifting. As for flexibility those in Brissy who know MT Cootha the difference with CES over stock headers was that I could go from the botanical gardens up the mountain past the restaurant to channel 9(wife used to work there) in 6th gear. When I got to the round a bout my speed dropped to just under 40 and then I accelerated back up to 60 going up the hill and never had to change down. I lost that jerky low speed shudder that the car gets when you are at low speed in a taller gear and the car will actually speed up not just make noise through the CAI. Combine a set of headers with a CAI and a good cat back system and it's how a Sportivo should go from factory....
  17. It's not that hard to strip a car like that. Gees I reckon Northy and I could strip to that extent in under 2 hours if we were in a hurry as we've pulled that many corolla's/sportivo's apart over the last few years!!
  18. ditto for me too plus got house things to organise before i move soon. Would have told you that if the forum hadn't crashed!!!!!
  19. Energy suspension do a motor mount insert from urethane that just slips into the original mount. That's what i had. Or you can buy totally new mounts which will be a lot more expensive.
  20. Energy suspension do as well. I had a set and Northy now owns them.
  21. you could be right but would they have the parts for the air flow sensor I buy my MAF mounts CNC machined in either stainless or alloy now. Previously I've made the mount from flat plate and drilled/tapped/shaped it as required. The CNC MAF mounts add a fair bit to the price but look much nicer and save a lot of time in the fabrication. Keep in mind that the MAF mount is the same as the mount used byWRX's, suzuki's etc which all use the same style Denso MAF. Generally speaking the CNC machined mounts also mount the maf at pretty much the right depth into the pipe as well on most applications.
  22. Added today an Airtec TJM snorkel. Has actualy made a noticable difference to the way the slug accelerates!!
  23. Happy birthday Tayles you young whipper snapper!!!
