yep i'm running from the headphone out on my carputer, and splitting it into 2 RCA channels - front and sub... to be honest, i think the sound is pretty decent, even though im running everything off a single unpowered headphone output... as long as you set your amp up right, you shouldnt have a problem. of course its not going to compare with a 24bit DAC signal coming out of some fancy head unit, but i'm totally satisfied with what i get. ultimately, i would buy an external USB sound card (i've been looking at the audigy NX or something), but im happy enough with what i have that i can't justify it.

yep thats right mate.. because at the flywheel, you're measuring exactly what the engine is putting out, and so the figures look higher. when you start measuring at the wheels (where it really counts to us car nerds), you get drivetrain loss, and the figure will always be lower... so car manufacturers put the kW at the flywheel to make themselves look better.. take the rolla for example... a 1zz-fe corolla is 100kw (or 93kW for the detuned ones) in all the ads, but when you put it on the dyno, its only 85kw-ish stock at the wheels...

i think we should have a carputer section... heaps of people are getting them now, and even more are thinking about it but aren't quite sure how to go about it. it could be very awesome.

i caught a glimpse of a nice blue aurion on lane cove road this arvo... it looks pretty good, and it does stand out in a good way... but it does look alot like any new sedan - it fits with the ford/holden shape :(

haha i do cos i just wanna make the payment and get it over with. i want these so bad, but with christmas and things coming up, i'll be pushing it... i dont have heaps of time anymore with my full time job, so if someone else from sydney with more time wants to take the distribution job thats fine with me... but ill do it if nobody else does.

its all relative pete... compared to you, not he doesnt..but who does? compared to someone who is driving their company rolla all over the shop, i think he cared more for his paintjob by scraping his car into things.. hope you have a good time everyone. im so annoyed im missing this one, but ill be at skirmish instead, getting hammered im sure...
