  1. No worries, I will be getting down to business at the end of the month and will see who is all talk and no show and those who are actually keen on tracking their cars. Will give a time frame for everyone to submit entry forms and payment before I move onto accomodation. That will come in due course.
  2. I've tried conning/convincing BlindKidSeeks (Andy) to join in as well so there should be about 3 AE92 SX hatches attending, the other one runs a supercharged 4AGZE and makes 80% more power than I've got.
  3. It's funny how people raged on and on that the car would be a major flop yet every one of the 500 LFA's were sold, including 8 to Australia.. LOVE the engine note too! (Yamaha tuned the acoustics of the intake FYI)
  4. Duy, yeh I'll still need the trailer and can buy straps and tow ball if you want. As for karting, my friend is organising one this coming Sunday at LeMan's but needs to confirm numbers. His got 7 thus far, you want in? (Discounts? :P) Duy/Kenshin, do not send any emails to anyone thanks. I'll will edit the forms to enable those who wants to be in the same group are done so. That is why I've asked for everyone to confirm at the end of month, start of next so I can see numbers. If you have already submitted your form, let me know asap. Please note, I am organising this event and I want it done my way. Sorry if it sounds harsh or anything but last time went smoothly and I want this one too as well. Cheers.
  5. Ying, the track is 10 minutes from Benalla - 2.5/3hrs hours north from S.E suburbs if you take into account a petrol stop. If you're into cars and all things racing then it'll be a blast but if you're not then it'll be pretty boring as theres not much else to do. For everyone else wanting to compete, I don't mean to scare you but you are looking at a minimum of $400 to begin with. $160 for entry, $50 for the license, $50 for a helmet, $30-50 for a fire extinguisher (optional), $100+ for new brake fluid/pads (v.highly recommended) and oil and spark plugs before/after racing costing $xxx ammount. Make no mistake, if you intend on racing, you will be flogging the cars for a while and you want it to run well. Alot of people will say that you won't go hard at all but you've just paid $160 to go on a circuit and 95% of the people there, go NUTS. So if you intend on competing, make sure your car is up to scratch. I'm going with my friends and our convoy is leaving on Saturday arvo. We'll be staying in Benalla for the night as per norm. cheers
  6. Oh yeh, I forgot about the ADR approved helmet, that you will definitely require. As for the extinguisher, you don't need one but it's recommended as you don't know what will happen. Yes, I have seen an engine bay fire before.
  7. 123presto You can buy the bulbs from Autobahn/Repco and the likes. I got mine at Bursons. Never really tried the ones from eBay but they are pretty average as you get what you pay for (I have T10 parker bulbs from eBay) Zeinheiger I actually disliked it and made a newer and slightly better heat shield haha, I just haven't gotten 'round to taking pics of it as I've been to busy offloading my race wheels benji4138 Thanks Benji! There will be more to come on the car and track racing in due course. I have some guys chasing me and have a few plans to keep them at bay :) and no, it does not involve more power hehe
  8. Thanks for compliment :) The cluster lights were replaced with Phillips T10 amber bulbs. These are by far better than any other bulbs I've used and are bright! Was never fond of blue lights so amber was a nice touch from the eerie green-white colour from stock. The small bulbs in the switches and the heater controls are T5 size and I used red light globe sleeves. Like those ones but in a T-5 size. Also heres a tip, before you remove the cluster, undo the speedo cable from behind the firewall. Once you undo it, you can wriggle the cluster forward and then undo the plug at the back by twisting it anti-clockwise I think You can see it just above the steering column here Cheers
  9. Alright guys, As you know, I am the track slut on this forum and have done some track days and for the most part have always had a blast. So I've had abit of a thought and would like to see who would be keen to track their car at Winton on Sunday March 27. Please note this is a timed day but you can go at any pace you so as wish to. I have contacted the track owner, Adam and have confirmed with him that I want my own group and will require 14 cars. I have a few friends joining me so a few extra's won't hurt. I know that Kenshin/Jonnieboi/Peter Tran from the forums are keen to go so you won't be alone. The plan is per normal, we will be departing on Saturday arvo and staying overnight at Benalla before heading to Winton Raceway (15mins away) early in the morning. Why head up Saturday night? Winton is 2.5-3hrs away so I'd rather get some sleep first than do an epic day of track racing. If you prefer to go in the morning then that's your call or you are welcome to join my convoy on Saturday. The cost of the day is $160, you will need racing license which can be bought on the day and will last a year ($50) and also a fire extinguisher. Any other questions, just ask. I'm here to help. Battle time!
  10. Thanks Coung - there's well more than 2 grand worth of wheels and tyres there and yet I still receive ridiculous offers lol ENKEI RPF1'S SOLD - Pending Payment
  11. Yeh; Select all text, Ctrl C Go to Edit Post -> Delete Post -> Proceed Then go to relevant Section -> Type heading Then Ctrl V Click Submit And Bob Yip is your uncle
  12. What Tash said, I've got one from di.ck smith. One of the Uniden ones for 50-60 bucks for 2. Went halvies with a friend and never looked back!
  13. Got some interest :) But please, do not come offering me shi.tty fitting HR or +50 offset wheels, I am NOT interested in swaps. You got money, we will talk. No I will not budge on my price. Simple as that. Don't like it/can't afford it, go to Bob Jane.
  14. Yeh, its a HUGE mother of a plastic box and is best removed, especially the big one. You'll get a slightly better throttle response with both of the resonators removed and a cold air duct put in.
  15. With the in race-spec mode, stripped interior and the likes; the car is fairly responsive. With 288 degree cams, you'll definitely need a standalone ECU to tune it. It'll have a beefy top end, though some of your bottom end will be sacrificed. Because I track alot, I need alot of response so mild cams are the go for me.
  16. Alllllriggggggght which Asian kid put in the 5 cents, 'fess up! :P (I'm a squinty eye'd guy too so no racism here!)
  17. WOW! That is clean! Can't believe I inspired you to get rid of a newer car to get one with missing Air/Con and stereo haha If you intend on getting bigger cams and raising compression then you may as well rebuild it from the bottom up. Depending on your budget, you can go for a full forged bottom end with cams 272/288 for more mid-top end. It'll cost you a fair bit but it'll be bullet proof depending on a) who builds it and B) what components are used. You can also build it on the cheap too, read my thread for idea with what I did. As for the noise from the exhaust, have another resonator fitted or look at getting something with a smaller tip. It'll definitely help. Stock SX's are bloody quiet things. Other than that, very nice buy! Will keep an eye out for updates
  18. Stop being pansies and just come to the meet aircon or no aircon, we have Toyota's reliability on our side! And for the record.. no my aircon is not gassed nor do I use it.
  19. Heat shield Version 2.0 incorporates extra fittings and a slightly better fit so I got to drilling a small hole.. ...then a bigger one Test fitting Clears intake fitting and cutting for heater hose is a snug, but good fit More measurements, bending and cutting. Almost there! Trial fitted again to check clearances and overall fit and finish Domokun approved! As mentioned earlier, I still have some work to do. Going to find me some pinchwell rubber seal to go around the heat shield as it's fairly abrasive - a cut heater hose on the circuit or road wouldn't be nice that's for sure! Still need to fit the L bracket, find a rubber grommet for the intake fitting and general tidying up. Overall, I'm quite happy with how it turned out :D To be continued..!
  20. Ok so I got about to making a heat shield for the car as the temperature starts to warm up with Summer now upon us. It's not yet complete as I still have finish the last of it off. Started off with some 0.5mm thick aluminium sheeting, a few bolts, L brackets and trusty tin snips. The length of the aluminium was more than sufficient so I cut out a section in the middle to make a template, leaving the end bits with a square finish for Version 2.0 Did a quick measure and bent it into place, meanwhile taking notice of the measurements. The heat shield sits on a peice of metal that once supported the airbox. On that brace is what looks like a 10mm hole in which I'll use to hold the heat shield with an L-bracket. Once satisfied with the template, out came the ruler and marker to draw out a final copy. Measure twice, cut once and it was time to bend it into shape. ...next page for more pics :)
  21. Wo wo wo wo waiiiitasec, SSR TYPE-F's if I'm not mistaken! They aren't yours now are they Peter?!
  22. Nah I purchased it of the twincam forums but that site has seen been taken over so I don't frequent there anymore. Are you guy that bought an ultra clean GTi in Brisbane? If so, I saw your pics and that is a crazy clean car! As for aircon; yep I have it but it's not gassed as I had some work done and needed the gas out. I never use it anyway and am contemplating about ripping it out to save weight. I'm accustomed to driving with both windows down now haha
