It's not to prevent flickering. It's to prevent them from coming on when my headlights and parkers are off and I have to flash my high beams. The issue with the lamp not igniting is usually the lamp itself. In some cases the ballast can be the part at fault, but to determine the cause, you need to swap lamps around. I always try to turn my headlights on when the car is stationary and wait between 30 seconds and a minute before moving the car so that the arc can stabilise. It's a cheap kit, so I take extra steps to make sure it will last.
-
Those types of kits are rather limited in their use. The lock/unlock feature that the Smart Entry has utilising the door handle is not present, plus the fact that this type of kit is not very secure. To fit this type of kit, you need to override your steering column lock which involves modifying the column, or cutting a key and placing it in the ignition to disable the lock.

I'm not a big gamer so I haven't played much out there, but the best RPG I've ever played was 'Dreamfall: The Longest Journey'.

How much are you willing to spend. Thousands? Because it's not as simple as putting a button in. I will quote a post I made earlier: SX6... no can do (cheaply). This is what you would need: 1) The control ECU for the Smart Entry, 2) Receiver for the ECU (mounted on C-Pillar, and different to the standard one), 3) The push button switch, 4) New drivers side door handle, 5) New steering column (as it has a motorised lock assembly and no key tumbler) 6) At least one Smart Entry transponder key. Don't ask me how much that will all cost. My best guess would be that you won't want to know. Add to that as well, you need to also get all the antenna's that are mounted in various places around the car. I think there are about 6 of them. These alone cost like $100-200 each.

Want to improve your Aurions perforomance & Fuel Economy??
DJKOR replied to Adamsy's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
You still inject it into the A/C through the filter slot. It will pass by the blower motor, but it won't wreck it. Due to the way the motor is housed in the centre and how it is a centrifugal fan (therefore pushing air to the outsides), the foam pretty much doesn't get on the motor components. -
Sound wise, OMG yes! Performance, LOL.

Just for the fun of it, someone took my photo:

Trance/house/electro/techno music all day every day And everyday (except for when it's a rainy day) is a windows down, music up case. I just have way too many to fit within these categories. I guess I will give an example though. Cruising and Sunny Day can sort of be merged with each other, but I've tried to separate it. Click links for YouTube. Cruising: DJ Tiesto - Nyana, or Darude - Passing By, or Greece 2000 - Three Drives on a Vinyl, or Aggressive: Novy Vs Eniac: Pumpin' (you have to have a good sub to appreciate this one), or , or Clokx - Overdrive [Ron Van Den Beuken Remix]Sunny Day: , or , or As said, this is just a sample. As well, one thing about deep trance while cruising is that you tend to start getting pretty deep into your thoughts. Memories come back as clear as day and it makes the drive rather interesting when you are left with your own mind.

AS long as you are just taking the standard chipped key into the water, you will be fine. If there is any sort of remote attached to it... then they can survive, but I wouldn't be counting on it as it's just intended to be water resistant.

A drop in panel filter will be nowhere close to as loud as a SRI/CAI with pod filter. The comparison between the two, regardless of the car, is like night and day. Just don't want to get anyone's hopes up.

Cold Start - Rev start and start at 1500 rpm
DJKOR replied to BlueBird's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
It's dependent on how you plan to drive, the conditions you will come across, your budget, whether you prefer comfort or handling with the willingness to sacrifice one or the other, etc. -
I would think the same as well, however I'm not 100% sure how the TRD falls within the Aurion lineup. It may actually be classified as a different model to your normal Aurion hence the wheels scenario doesn't apply. But seriously though, I haven't personally heard of defects for having a wheel that is slightly larger than allowable.

Rattle or squrking noise from the driver side widow
DJKOR replied to Chenjohn's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
The situation explained by the OP seems more like the window rubbers may be a little on the dry side. Using some silicone lubricant or graphite powder on the window rubbers may help stop any squeaks you may be getting. -
Brisbane Meetup (Every Thursday 9pm)
DJKOR replied to Danthuyer's topic in Previous/Past Club Meets & Events
brakes are overrated. You're just jealous that your wheels are tiny compared to them I'm definitely there at 7:30pm. However, I will be heading off at like 9pm so me and my mate can see Iron Man 2. I'm leaving my car especially dirty for a good clean tomorrow. -
So anyone thinking now of upgrading to a TRD since you are all in the spending mood? Anyways, today after work I headed over to Willowbank. Because I went straight from work, I went for a run in full street trim which includes spare wheel and subwoofer/amplifier. I'm a little bit on the disappointed side of things because I was really hoping for a 13.7xx run with at least 103mph trap speed. Personally I think this would have easily been possible if I could have launched it harder. The TRD is definitely more touchy with launching compared with the Sportivo. Looks like when I get a good set of grippy tires, then I will head back for maybe one last time since I'm kind of over the 1/4 mile now. So today's best run was: 13.827s @ 101.31mph
-
^ If it's just the intermediate shaft, they can access it from under the dash by removing the drivers side door sill, the kick panel, and the trim underneath the steering wheel.

Cold Start - Rev start and start at 1500 rpm
DJKOR replied to BlueBird's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
1) Completely normal. When cold, the engine will initially idle higher then as it starts to get some heat into it, the idle will drop slowly. Most EFI cars will do this. I would advise to wait just a little bit before shifting into drive on a cold start. Just to be a little softer on things. Here is something to look at plus a recommendation from me: V6 Engine REVS When Cold Letting engine idle for a while on a cold start 2) Possibly not a fault if you can narrow down where the issue is coming from. A 'sizling' sound would seem to me like its the glass sliding on the rubber guides that the window slides along. If you can narrow it down to this, then it can easily be resolved with silicone spray or graphite powder. 3) Also completely normal: 2 things: Thudd when taking off and Tyre Change 4) Any work performed by Toyota should have a record in their database. If not Australia wide, then at least at the dealer who performed any work. If you can find out who performed most of the work on your car, then this would be a good starting point if your local dealer can't tell you. -
Sorry to threadjack, but you both have the bypass kit right? Without that, you will be going nowhere thanks to the imobiliser. Apart from that, everything else is quite straight forward. Ash - Any particular reason why you are putting in a remote start?

Also you get to edit your posts ninja style. But the main advantage is knowing that you have supported a site where you go on frequently and ask for help and help others out.

Aurion average fuel consumption approximation
DJKOR replied to DJKOR's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
With regards to that, I fuelled up with what was available. Unfortunately 95 was all that seemed to be around. You can see I only filled up a small amount of 91 to get me to the next town. On 95, it seemed to operate fine. I avoided putting my foot down and/or going above 5000RPM where possible, but in the moments where I had to, it seemed alright. When I filled with 91, I drove with a lot of caution just to be on the safe side. I wasn't really testing the effects of the fuel, so I can't really accurately comment. I was just doing what I had to do. -
The TRD cerainly is a nice car. Never intended on buying one, but things just turned out that way. And no, it's just a little bit of Photoshop combined with some good photography. A clear bonnet would be a little weird. Well, you're one step closer to the Silver Membership page than I am. I can't even find the subscription page. This new layout has changed things a little. I've asked on another thread to see if anyone else has come across it.
-
Out of curiosity, is anyone here able to find the "Mangage Subscriptions" or whatever page you used to go to when you signed up for silver membership? It seems to be hiding from me.
