  1. Good stuff mate. After all that time, it will feel great to have her on the road.
  2. When I can get time off work. I have a week off prior to this other event im going to... MAYBE then :P It's in june tho. Thinking of throwing in the trip to Brissy before the National Meet eh? That's a good idea. On the topic of interstate driving.... as of today, I am no longer banned from driving in Victoria

Didn't bring your own LIFT with you? That can be easily arranged. PM'ed !!! Replied.... via SMS.
  4. I don't seem to see what that has to do with advertising Air New Zealand. Well at least I know not to look for a cougar in NZ . That said, this one Kiwi cougar I met over here wasn't too bad.
  5. There is no need to remove your front bumper if you were to fit the CAI. Simply jacking the front of the car up and removing the splash guards give you enough room to work behind the bumper. This is what I did when I fitted my cool air feed (whilst changing my PS fluid) and had no issues with space. Then you can make a cutout on the splash guard underneath where the pod goes and it will get a good feed of air thanks to the way the splash guard there is designed (ie. it scoops the air). Ignore the dirt and scrapes, but see how it kind of has a scoop to it. I was going to remove my fog light and use that as the scoop, but I just couldn't make myself do it:

The moment I enter the room. So you'll be at this Thursday's meet with lylee?
  9. ^ As long as you are on level ground and your first gear is engaged, you should be fine without wheel chocks... but it's good practise to put them there just in case. No need to worry about it rolling away.
  10. I wouldn't jump to the conclusion of it being the fuel just yet. Personally I would recommend you get it read because it could seriously be anything and it would be helpful to know. When I had my light come on, I had filled up my fuel not too long before it and thought that could have been the cause. Turned out mine was a true ABS/VSC error. Toyota (or an OBDII scan gauge) can tell you the error code that can let you know where the problem could have come from. Otherwise, yep, just pull your negative terminal off, leave it for a few minutes (even 10 to be sure) then connect it back up. If you start the engine and the error does not come up immediately, then it's nothing major. If your drive and reach about 60km/h and it comes back, I'd really suggest to get the code read.

    Little Rants

Oh man. That one seriously sh**s me off. Especially when my car was cleaned recently. So many times I have considered putting a sprayer jet in my rear bumper and then fill it with dirty water. Then I would overtake them and spray them. My next rant.... those slack f*** that are so lazy that they can't return their trolley in a car park. It is really hard to walk that extra 10 seconds to place it in the trolley bay instead of hiding it behind a pole between cars.
  12. ^ In my opinion, that oil would be too thick to use on a relatively new engine. As per the manual, the Aurion recommends a 10W30 oil or equivalent (eg. 0W30 or 10W30). These engines are made with specific clearances and this is why they usually recommend a particular oil. Having too thick of an oil can actually be bad for your engine despite what you may think because the thicker oil may not be able to flow as well as the thinner oil which can ultimately lead to engine damage.
  13. You have a really valid point. How did I miss the fact that dixie had a Presara. Guess I wasn't paying attention to the sidebar... and the first post for that matter. I would get the feeling that the pre-facelift may actually be the same. This is something I will have to have a look at.
  14. Spotted on my way home from Sunnybank much like the above scenario... a red debadged Corolla Sportivo. If you're on here... who are you? You know who you are.
  15. Some information on such an occurrence can be read here in another thread: Check VSC Error Basically the list of possibilities are endless. Getting it read by Toyota or another scan tool can narrow it down, but even still, there can be many possible causes. You should get it read by Toyota and let us know if it is exhaust related :P Otherwise you can reset you ECU by pulling the ECU fuses for a minute then forever wonder what the error was about (providing that it doesn't come back).
  16. Speaking of which, this headlight thing has really got me puzzled. When I get the chance, I'm going to head back to the dealer and have a look at another facelift Aurion. It just doesn't seem right to me that you would need tool to change the headlights. Not that I don't entirely believe unique, it's just I can't visualise what it looks like without seeing it myself. I'll take my camera.
  17. Mate... that was nowhere near a rude response. I simply said: Since when is using the statement "was it really necessary" a rude response? And if you think it's rude to point to 'The STUPID thread', why don't you have a look at the thread and you will see that it is there to ask questions, not to offend. You would even see that I have asked many questions in that thread as well. Geez.... if that response was considered rude, than I'd hate to hear how you would take a real rude response.
  18. So Nathan... I see you are lurking here :P Come on.... you know you want to get the Fujita kit.
  19. In my opinion, I would think otherwise. My bet would be that Toyota did not design the multi-information display to read the speedo pulses to convert to a readable figure. The speedo would most likely be designed to convert the digital pulses to a suitable signal for the speedo servo motor and the LCD display driver most likely won't know how to interpret this data. I would imagine the speedo cluster software won't be easily changed as well as it's not something that gets re-written in the life of the car. That's just the way I see it though.
  20. No... but this isn't just an Aurion forum. Maybe you can now take the opportunity to work on changing this statement: There are many things to discuss and many more members to speak to outside of this forum. We are a community. Anyways, if you want, I can be more picky and tell you that if you did a search in this forum using the word "speedo", you would find this thread: Speedo In all seriousness, the best answer to this would be supplied by calling this number: 1800 252 097 or asking here: http://www.toyota.com.au/email-toyota Chances are they won't have a decent answer either, but it's no different to asking here for the same thing because in the end, we're just guessing.
  21. Just the choice that the designers made. Maybe it wasn't something they saw as a useful feature. Personally I don't mind the standard analogue gauge. Instead of seeing a fluctuating digital number, you get a smoother fluctuation with the standard gauge. Anyways, was it really necessary to make up a new thread just to ask this? Questions like this should go here: The STUPID thread
  22. Nah. ... Half-filo's. Tend to be hotter for some reason. speak for yoursel daryl ;) You're so kind Mick :)
  23. Hmmm. Looks like this week may not work for everyone. I guess next week would probably work better for everyone. Shame I won't be around then. Well how bout we see how popular the meet will be this Thursday and then see who's up for some photos after that.
  24. When I was younger, due to the way I was raised in my family, me and my sister would refer to family friends that were around our parents' age as auntie and uncle.... or for those that are Filipino... Tita and uncle (LOL, never used Tito for some reason). Yeah, the food is great. Even better deserts so long as you have a sweet tooth.
  25. Nah. ... Half-filo's. Tend to be hotter for some reason.
