At the top of this very forum where you have made this post, you will find the following: Welcome to TOCAU

It just doesn't seem as bold as I was hoping. It just makes it seem understated. I would certainly choose the Gen 1 styling over that.
-
^ Certainly looks a bit more elegant in a way. Would be interesting to see a Sportivo variant. Edit: On second look, it reminds me of a Honda Accord. Edit Edit: Oh G** that read reminds me too much of a ZRE sedan. Personally I don't think this is going to help in any way... unless the display is in the form of a HUD. If the screen is where your head unit is, chances are that by the time you notice it on the display, you don't be able to react to avoid the wildlife. If anything, it will probably slow your reaction down compared to spotting the wildlife with your own eyes. Even with high beams, when travelling at speed it can still be some effort to avoid things on the road. Same goes for having it there to see pedestrians etc. If the screen is not directly in your field of view, it will probably serve as more of a distraction unless you are travelling really slow.

Here's an idea, try to follow after the Focus guys:
-
Yeah. Looks kinda tacky in it's design. I also just noticed that the non-hybrid dash cluster has that fuel consumption gauge like the hybrids do. That gauge is such a pointless idea, even on the hybrid.
-
Personally, you would be much better off wiring the coils in series and finding an amplifier that can do 500W into 4-ohms. If you try to separate the voice coils onto different channels, you are just wasting away with inefficiency.

Do note that even for parts that are basically teh same, American part number can vary from the Australian part numbers. Have a look at these diagrams for example: 2007 Toyota Camry SE (USA): http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_2007_TOYOTA_CAMRY_GSV40L-CETSKA_1701.html 2007 Toyota Aurion SX6 (Aus): http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_G_2007_TOYOTA_AURION_GSV40R-JETSKQ_1701.html Um... have you ever looked underneath your engine cover? That alone answers that question. Edit: To save you from scrolling up or looking at your engine bay, here is a photo:
-
Well I'm guessing there won't be a new Aurion anytime soon then if that got released as the Camry.
-
That front end looks very... um...... American. IMO anyways. http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2012-toyota-camry-first-drive/full/#photo-4386566/ The a55 end of the Hybrid makes me think Subaru and Hyundai.

That depends. Is it a dual 4-ohm voice coil or a dual 2-ohm voice coil? A dual 4-ohm voice coil, where each coil is 4-ohms, can only run as a 4-ohm sub if you connect each coil up to two separate channels on an amplifier. Otherwise, you can either connect the coils in parallel to make 2-ohm, or in series to make 8-ohms. A dual 2-ohm voice coil, where each coil is 2-ohms, can be run as either 2-ohms by connecting each coil up to two separate channels on an amplifier, as 1-ohm by connecting the coils in parallel, or 4-ohms by connecting the coils in series. Your initial post gave the impression you have a dual voice coil sub where each coil is 4-ohms and considering that is is more common to state the rating of each coil when you define "dual voice coil", I would be thinking the same.

Wasn't a Toyota, but I spotted something that makes me ask the following question. On my way to work this morning, I spotted this large truck that was kinda like a tank in the way it was built. It was flat black in colour with nothing else on it that I could see to identify it. When I went past it, I noticed a small pair of red and blue lights on the top. My question is, does the QPS have such a vehicle and if so, what the heck would they use it for. Sorry for lack of picture but the sun made it a little difficult to get a clear shot of it. This is the general idea:
-
Speaking of failing at its finest anyway Branno, you can talk can't ya. What about that Weekend Meet idea anyways? :P
-
Not really. It was an Expression of Interest. Besides, even if we did end up being able to make it, the weather would have been a bit of an issue considering some of us want to try to get usable times.

What did you do to your car today?
DJKOR replied to JustinW's topic in General Toyota & Other Car Discussions
I see. Well in that case I shall pass. I'm a lazy person these days. As for what I did to my car today. Made it real dirty from driving it around in the wet and through dusty roadworks. -
To answer you second question: Positioning GPS antenna A good place for the antenna is inside the dash behind the clock on top of one of the A/C vents. The no GPS error sounds like the unit isn't set up correctly. Try to enter the GPS setup within the program and make sure that COM port 2 is selected. This is where my antenna is mounted. You can see it on top of the left vent. No issues whatsoever:

Mt. Tamborine/Springbrook/Natural Bridge back when I used to have my Aurion Sportivo. I used to drive those roads quite aggressively with some Subaru guys. I wouldn't call the road very dangerous, but at the pace we were going, it certainly makes it such. Lack of guard rails and trees on narrow lanes and tight bends certainly makes you put a lot of faith in yourself and your car. Mt. Nebo comes in at second cause it has decent trees and guard rails to hopefully save you. Casually driving it takes about 14-15 minutes, Spirited driving for me is around 10-11 minutes.

So wait.... you mean you will sell it in a form which means it will directly mount in without the need to custom make MDF mounts? If so, you could consider them sold. I would even deposit the funds directly into your account via a branch since I am that keen. -
The pre-facelift Aurion does not come with iPod connectivity from factory. The factory single/6-stacker like in your first photo can have AUX-in added to it by means of modifying the unit (read more here), however this means you need to manually control the iPod. Both the single/6-stacker and the factory Navigation head unit (like this one) can have iPod connectivity added by means of a SoundLinQ2 (link). You basically create playlists in the iPod and you can control them via the head unit. That second unit you pictured is actually an aftermarket head unit. There is lots of discussion about that on the forum here, so having a look there would be a good starting point. Only the facelift Aurion came standard with iPod connectivity. The particular head unit in question looks like this:

As your brake pads wear down, your brake fluid level will go down. So long as you are above the low line, then you don't really need to top it up. You can if you want to though, but it just means that if you change your pads without doing a fluid change at the same time, you need to remove some fluid from the reservoir when you push the pistons back in.

Definitely placebo effect. If it wasn't, then you were obviously letting your oil get to a bad state. -
Aww snap. I deleted my reply to this. Anyways, here it is again: I guess everyone sees things differently (excuse the pun). I actually find the convex mirrors safer as you can see more in them and don't easily miss something in your typical blind spot. I learnt to drive by not putting much reliance in my side mirrors. I always look far over my shoulder even if I have a clear view in the mirror. As long as you do your typical blind spot checks, the convex mirrors shouldn't be any worse than a normal mirror.

I have a temptation to buy something from here, so someone better hurry up and buy these so I don't have the temptation anymore. -
In case you didn't pick up on my input via the above link from "A Buff Hamster", I shall quote it here (was on page 50): This whole Dot 3 and Toyota thing is certainly an interesting subject. You have people on both sides of the discussion, so it's up to you where you want to stand. Here is some discussion prepared earlier: Status Update (thank f*** for Google Search): That link above for easy clicking: http://www.penriteoil.com.au/tech_pdfs/87_DOT 3 and DOT 4.pdf BTW: Penrite SIN is a yellow colour.

Wire the two coils in parallel. That means with each coil having a positive and a negative, you join the positive ends to each other, and the negative ends to each other. When two equal resistors (in this case the coils) are in paralleled with each other, they equal half the value of one of them.
