This. Everyone always thinks that just because there is an "S", it must mean Sports Mode or Sequential Mode and that it is designed to be driven like a manual. However the manual does not even have an extended name for it. They still call it "S" Driving Mode. They do however make a lot of reference to the words "shift range". So people need to realise when you select "S", you are selecting "Shift Range".

I was thinking of the same thing the other day. The carpet material used in the boot isn't particularly grippy, plus my tool bag, boxes etc are smooth to start with. I was thinking of going to Clark Rubber an getting some lengths of rubber or something and making some sections. You know how you put a slice in either piece going halfway and you join them together? Brake fluid is typically every 30,000km. I tend to follow that service interval unless the brakes feel a little abnormally spongy. Also if I was to do a track day and have to change my brake pads before the 30,000km interval, I would change the fluid at the same time as the pads. Power steering fluid depends on how you feel. I like to think of 75,000km as a decent service interval but prefer to change mine over at 60,000km. With the fluid costing like $25 for 5 litres (I use Fuchs ATF), I think there's no harm in doing so. Last flush and change I used 2.5 litres... and that was will excessive flushing. $25 for 120,000km doesn't look bad in my books. Coolant. Well I'm not too sure about the red Toyota Long Life Coolant, but the pink Toyota Super Long Life Coolant has it's initial change at 160,000km and then every 80,000km after that. The initial change is usually pretty accurate and shouldn't need to be changed before hand (but always inspect and change it sooner if you believe so) but afterwards, inspection at every service would be wise and changing it sooner would be a good idea if it looks like it may need to be. Edit: Did some research. It sounds like the red Toyota Long Life Coolant has a 30,000 mile service interval, so I'd say every 45,000km or 2 years, whichever comes first. Obviously though you should change it sooner if you believe so after inspection.

No, Presara's have a premium sound system. Not sure about the speakers but I think there's an additional subwoofer. The stock audio really does suck. Bass is uncontrolled and drowns out higher frequencies, not like the higher frequencies are very clear either... <_< The "premium sound system" on the Presara consists of an 8 speaker setup vs a 6 speaker setup. Don't get your hopes up though. The extra speaker is in the rear: Speaker Locations In the US, they offer the Gan 6 Camry with a premium sound system upgrade that consists of JBL made speakers and an amplifier. Unfortunately in Australia, this is not the case. The improvement probably isn't all that good in the first place, but for people like me who don't plan on changing it, it may just do.

That's not to say that it never did it before you changed your intake. I would be fairly certain that the intake is not the cause for such raspiness. Remember you did make a change to your exhaust setup on the 2nd or there abouts. Your exhaust note can get some subtle changes in it over time when compared to what it was like when just fitted. This is while carbon etc builds up on the inside and heat changes may make things "break in" differently. Chances are, what you are getting is due to the resonator being removed and nothing to do with the intake itself.

I so agree with you there. Before getting my Varex on my last car, I was reading about how those against it were saying it is a waste and to just get the right note in the first place. I just kept using the reasoning that I got it so I can cruise around through quiet suburbs etc and not make much noise. Then I got it and convinced myself that the benefit of making it quiet was such a good decision and that's what I kept saying.... .... but honestly, I pretty much never turned it to "quiet". I left it open 24/7 and it really was pointless. Now I am in the same boat as those before me that were saying how pointless it really is.
