  1. Well then, this gives you an idea in relation to the oil pan: http://highlanderclub.ru/files/manual/12/210j7c0e/x040001.pdf Shouldn't be hard to spot when you are under there.
  2. You never answered which engine you have. Judging from the sounds of it, you have the V6 model because of the simple fact that you can't find the filter. I'm guessing you are looking for the traditional oil filter. If you have the V6... well guess what, you won't find your typical oil filter. The procedure for the V6 is something like this: http://members.cox.net/n0v8or/avalon_oil_change.pdf If you have the 4 cylinder version, it's not hard to Google "2AZ-FE oil filter change".
  3. It will be slim picking for people rocking up to the meet this Thursday. That said, I'd be willing to meet up even if it's just a few of us.
  4. it wont be, it will be a '4GS' (similar to the 3GS)... it wont be a whole new platform. Yep. And it should have that new NFC chip in it. Not a seller for me though. If I want to upgrade to it, I'll do so after I compare what extras it has. I guess it was one of those impulse things. I'm either going to love it or hate it. After using a Droid phone for quite a while now, at least I've got some ground to make a comparison on.
  5. Too late now and no turning back. Basically it goes something like this: - I could have gone back to the Apple Store, payed $999 and walk out with a 32gb iPhone 4. Problem is, it's not wallet friendly because I already bought a 16gb iPhone 4 for my sister and other Christmas presents leave me with limited budget. Or, - I could go to Three and add an iPhone 4 to my account and pay it off in manageable monthly payments. Only downside is that I won't get it until the 1st or 2nd week on January. So... I caved in and opted for the Three option. Will end up costing $888 ($37 a month) and they include a bonus $30 credit to the account for the inconvenience. On dear God. What have I done.
  6. Can someone please give me a good reason why I shouldn't buy the iPhone 4? I have always been against the iPhone, but after spending half an hour in the Apple store and buying my sister one, I really want one... even though my Xperia X10 does everything I need.
  7. Probably. I just bought the stuff because of the claims that it keeps your fuel tank clean. I probably got suckered in, but oh well. On a side note, I stopped using it a little wile ago after I had way too many spills in my glove box. The lids on them don't particularly seal very well.
  8. Well since you have asked for personal opinion, I figured I may contribute: In the general sense of the question, yes Toyotas' are more reliable than other brands, but then again, there are other brands that could be said to be more reliable than a Toyota. Suffice to say, Toyota's reliability isn't really at the top of the list. I would say their reputation on reliability can be defined for both their past and present models, but I personally think that it is their past models that really stood up to that reputation. I guess the more simple something is, the less there is to go wrong. Straight out of the factory styling, I reckon each have their own credits. There are some Japanese designed and produced cars out there that I could say are better than those designed and produced in Europe, but then the same can also be said the other way around. That said as well though, just because it is a Toyota and the brand is Japanese, it doesn't necessarily make every Toyota "Japanese Styled". Take the Aurion for example. You will find a fair bit of information on how Australian design had a large part in it. They even started something called 'Toyota Style Australia' which is where the design of the Aurion all started. Well I wouldn't exactly say I solely love Toyota. There are other brands I love as well. When I bought my Toyota, it didn't just come down to brand loyalty. There were many deciding factors and in the end, it came down to which car checked all the boxes, one of them being value for money. From choosing the car, there were then multiple reasons I could come up with as to why I love the car I chose. But that said, I could probably get another brand car and come to the exact same conclusions. Can't really comment. You just love the car for what it is and how well it does it's job. Can't really explain the feeling unless you own one.
  9. If you have the 4 cylinder model, your oil filter is in the same location as the current and previous generation 4 cylinder Camry. That engine is the 2AZ-FE. If you have the 6 cylinder model, the oil filter is in the same location as the Aurion or Gen 2 Kluger. That engine is the 2GR-FE. Finding details on how to access/change the oil filter on these two engines is not hard to find. Just search the forum here or Google.
  10. Sorry to hear about the damage mate. I guess the usual thing to say would be at least the car kept you safe from harm... but depending on your connection with the car, that statement may not be an accurate reflection of your thoughts. I'm not so good with guessing how much things cost to repair, but I'm fairly certain that it would be a fair bit less than your Agreed Value or Market Value (whichever your policy states). I'd be leaning more towards them taking the option to repair it, but I guess at the end of the day, it's up to them which route they will take. I understand your thoughts though. It's definitely not something you feel confident with getting back after a repair.

  12. Sorry... I meant 3 and 9.
  13. If you space your fuel stops appropriately, you should have no issue finding at least 95 RON premium unleaded. Even on my drive from Adelaide to Brisbane, I was able to fill up with 95 RON from all these petrol stations in the middle of nowhere. I only had one stop where I absolutely couldn't get any premium, but I guess I was lucky for that. So if you don't happen to come across 98 RON, you will at least be able to get some 95 which should keep you relatively safe.
  14. Yep. This is my preferred method as well. Grab it at the 3 and 6 9 o'clock position and start rocking it back and forward on each side pulling back with a little force. It should give way rather quickly. Except when I do it, I opt to go with no bolt. I like to take the chance
  15. You missed this thread: http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23391
  16. If I was to answer you initial question, I would have to say no to it being the law... and no I don't drive with my lights on during the day unless it is raining. Personally, the way people drive as it is over here, having lights on or not during the day isn't something I would see as an effective way to reduce accidents.
  17. It's not raining at the loop here. Bring you asses over here.
  18. That site doesn't have the Aurion. The Aurion may be similar to the Camry, but I can assure you... the manuals are different.
  19. Channel 7 weather lady says there is a cell heading towards the city and it's looking rather heavy. I guess if it's not raining around 8pm, we'll go to the loop and chill there till it rains. If it's raining around 8pm, I guess it's straight to the train. Edit: On that side of things, chances are that around 8pm, it would have moved on so the loop may be quite promising. Edit 2: Car is now waxed and should be good for whatever the next few days have in store. My God the sides of my car were filthy after the last week. Edit 3: The inevitable rain has just hit the west. I was hoping to have a clean car for at least a minute after leaving the house.
  20. I was going to call loop earlier because it looked like blue skies ahead. It still seems like it is going to clear up pretty well. There is just a little drizzle here and there. The train sucks massive *****, so I'm still holding my hopes for the loop.
  21. What superpowers? I gave up my moderating rights in a big "FUCK YOU" to all the softies. It's still there in the archives. Last had a post on August 17, 2009: ELEGNT's Aurion Edit: I LOL'ed looking at the first post of your thread there. To think where it all started.
  22. If I was to add my opinion, the more economical solution I believe would be to get a complete head unit. You can puck them up for under $500 and they usually have the reverse camera as well. Sure you may need to wire the camera up, but realistically, it's about as difficult as wiring up the power to the one that you have shown. But with that said, should you endeavour to go for a solution like the one you have shown, then I reckon the idea is quite neat. The fact that the display is a decent size and same resolution as the Chinese navigation head units we talk about here, as well as the fact that it comes with a GPS, makes this product better than some others out there. If I had to say something negative about it though, I would have to say that the camera appears to be a bit on the bulky side which would make it quite interesting if you wanted to mount it cleanly and less visible.
  23. 7:30pm is fine. Please where the hell are your manners??? Fuck manners.
  24. Other jobs huh? I am going to save what I was going to say and instead I will say this. Why don't you call your local branch and ask them what a "Customer Service Representative" does. Because you will easily find that job title in their list on their website. And as I said in my reply, you can only apply for a position that is available. If it's not available, subscribe to the "Job Alerts".
  25. You obviously didn't look hard enough: http://www.commbank.com.au/about-us/careers/ If a position is available, it will be listed. If not, then you can't apply. Lucky I'm with Westpac... and in Brisbane.
