  1. I found this amazing site the other day. It goes by the name "Google". Strange I know, but people have said so many good things about it. Had you have done that, you would have found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_RZ_engine#2RZ-FE

    O.... M.... F.... G... ! 1994 Camaro on eBay
  3. I wouldn't say that's the smell you get from it, but if you do get a waft of it, your nose isn't going to appreciate it.
  4. Murphy's Law mate. The entire time I had my last Aurion and my Camry, I had not once required the spare. I did get a few nails in the tires here and there but it didn't cause a leak. It was only during a rotation that I found them. But, the moment you remove your spare, the chance of needing it will probably increase. What are you planning on doing?
  5. Not to mention this is software piracy. But I can't speak because I have contributed towards the iGO8 stuff
  6. Still doesn't explain what your issue with me is. I have never stated that I have any issues with you or any of your replies now and in the past. My replies to you either make a clear and obvious joke, or to explain the reasons for my actions. Never do they state what you have said is incorrect nor do I patronise you.
  7. And I knew you would come back with a response like that. What the heck is your problem mate. Once again I have made a reply that is not disagreeing with your own reply but I am just stating the point that even though the calculations presented here are inaccurate, it's enough for people here to make a general comparison. If our figures are going to be off slightly, what exactly are we losing? You always turn simple statements of mine into something that makes it look like I'm trying to argue with you.
  8. FFS man. This is just as stupid of a question as your last fuel related one. There is a thread questions like this: The STUPID thread Common sense and a Google search would tell you that generally, liquids become more dense when cold. That's about all I need to say with respect to that, providing you use your head. As for any advantages, you aren't going to make any measurable difference to how much fuel you get.

    Pensioners...

My rant about pensioners is how they act like they should be treated with a much higher level of respect than anyone else. Sure enough I will treat them with respect... much like everyone else, but I personally don't think they deserve more than others. Quite simply, everyone lives. You start young, you get old, you live with the fact that you are getting older. Nothing else to it. Everyone ages and when you do, you will be in the same boat as them. Example from the other week when I was waiting in queue and a pensioner had just pushed past me thinking that I would just let them go ahead because they are older.
  10. This is why I absolutely hate touching headlight adjustment screws. No matter how hard I try, I can never get the aim perfect again.
  11. On that thought, should this not be in the Buy/Sell section, and be bound by the GB rules? This is what I was about to say, and with that said, I am sorry to be a forum Nazi, but this thread has to be closed. If someone else qualifies for starting a group buy and is willing to take on the task, PM me and I'll see if it can be approved.
  12. If your stereo has an MP3/AUX input with no USB port, then it will have a 3.5mm jack on it where you can plug your iPod into it. You just need a 3.5mm stereo male to 3.5mm stereo male lead and you can input your iPod into it.
  13. Why would we need to dispute those facts. Yes they are true, but so what if your average fuel calculation is going to be off by a small amount? For comparative purposes, the differences by around 1 litre per 100km will be more obvious showing once person getting a higher/lower fuel consumption than another. We aren't compiling figures for a scientific report.
  14. Which is quite funny in a way because the stock bulbs are Philips and Osram (for the headlights and foglights respectively... or the other way around). But I get what you mean though. OEM Philips/Osram vs. aftermarket Philips/Osram. That said though, the statement there is not true for the high beams. Those are a Toshiba H1R1 bulb which is a fairly good bulb as it is.
  15. I need to adjust my lights too since it is aiming too high because of the change in the rear springs . I had a look at the one above and just throw my arms up in the air. I could just be able to see geared screw from the vision hole. Definitely more like socket than a screwdriver and facing from the inside for access which isn't easy to get to. Looks like the job for the service department, maybe they have the special tool required for turning the gear from the top. My imagination didn't extend far enough the very first time I found that adjustment gear. It is true though that there is no need for a special tool. A number 2 Philips head will do the trick. The points of contact of the Philips head perfectly meshes with the adjusting gear.
  16. I think you will need them to replicate this one. I can't imagine them changing it for you if they can't see there being a problem. It's not a simple job.
  17. Rowan would be proud. Hehehe. Looking schmick. Keep an eye on the signature image size as well mate. Your sig is taking up half my usable Firefox window on a 1920x1080 monitor.
  18. Really eh? I've always used 8000k and on even one occasion, 10000k and have not once had an issue with the cops. Even when following them for a few kilometres or so. Guess Brisbane is the place to be.
  19. Good idea keeping speedo numbers off the post. CannonBall runs usually involve illegal activity and being a public forum, that is usually frowned upon. Just something to remember for anyone that chooses to reply. Keep it clean to keep it open. Anyways, I don't really have much in terms of stories. Basically, I have somewhere to go... I drive there. That's about it really. But anyways, the biggest trips I've done in my Aurion: Sam - Sportivo SX6: Brisbane to Melbourne + return - Did this trip non-stop. Departed Brisbane around 8:00pm on 04/06/2009. Got booked at 9:20am on 05/06/2009 on the Goulburn Valley Freeway, Murchison East... for obvious reasons. Just for an idea, the place I got booked is 1500km from the starting point. Return trip was a little more lax. - Wildlife avoided: Multiple kangaroos. Wildlife hit: None Brisbane to Canberra + return - Did this one non-stop as well. Travelled there for work. Ended up staying around Canberra for nearly a couple of months. Trip there is nothing to write about. Trip back was interesting. Had to drive back during the 2nd week onset of Glandular Fever. Drove back in one go and felt like I was going to die when I hit the bed on my return. - Wildlife avoided: Multiple kangaroos. Wildlife hit: A couple of bunnies Brisbane to Hunter Valley + return - Just a trip for work. At the time, I was kinda wishing the trip would have lasted a bit longer. I guess after driving such long distances before, I was expecting a little more distance. Wildlife avoided: Multiple kangaroos. Wildlife hit: None Brisbane to Dubbo... one way - This was originally meant to be Brisbane to Lorne, then Lorne to Adelaide, but those around here know the rest of that story. - Wildlife avoided: One kangaroo. Wildlife hit: None. Other things hit: A tree or two plus a lot of dirt Aimee - TRD 3500SL Adelaide to Brisbane -> one way - Well quite obviously, buying a car in Adelaide means I needed to get it back home to Brisbane. The simplest way... drive it home. So then began the 2056km journey home. I wasn't really up for doing that one in one go, so I broke it up into two. Drove from Adelaide to Gilgandra (1261km via the Barrier Highway) and then from Gilgandra back to Brisbane the next day. The trip to Gilgandra was something different. I've never really driven a highway like that (Barrier Highway) which has been so straight and just keeps on going and going for hundreds of kilometres. Needless to say, the open space and just the road itself, you perspective of speed changes quite a bit. Lets just say my TRD was revving quite a bit higher than usual in 6th gear. - Wildlife avoided: Multiple kangaroos, 4 emu, and a sheep. Wildlife hit: Crow. Bent the numberplate and the grill Brisbane to Sydney + return - A drive of such distance never really phased me much before, but I must say, even driving to Sydney is starting to become a little tedious now. I think I need to take a break from the long drives. - Wildlife avoided: None. Wildlife hit: None ------------------------------ General thoughts: From all the trips I have done, comfort has been quite good. The ride quality could be a little smoother, but it's nothing rough. Sitting in the car for a full tank of fuel though does get a little wearing on your back though. I must say though, the fabric seats of my Sportivo were marginally better than the TRD seats for long drives. The Aurion is a nice car to take on a nice long drive with some good sights and sounds, but personally, I feel as if the Aurion is more at home when given a more windy trail with some nice tight corners to really get it working. I think that may just be me though. I guess it's one advantage to living close to some really nice mountain roads. Some pictures taken along the way of my Aurion outside of QLD: On a side note, unfortunately the timing of buying my TRD put me in Adelaide around the time there was this locust plague happening. I intentionally set off during the day to avoid as many bugs as possible, but I was given a rude shock:
  20. In terms of HID's, it's just as illegal. Retrofitting HID's into a car without all the necessary components (self-levelling, headlight washers, etc) is not legal. Halogen bulbs with specifications for colour temperature is just a load of marketing crap. They usually vary by different levels of blue tint on them. If they don't carry the appropriate ADR markings, then they aren't legal. But with all that said, the chance of getting done for it is not likely unless you get something that is way out obvious.
  21. I was going to comment on that, but I recall only changing the passenger side light.
  22. That pretty much confirms what we have all been saying in the thread: Doors auto lock In general: Personally I think the feature is a little pointless, but I guess I'm not worried about car jacking or anything like that. Anyways, I hear that the features below are not available on the Aus spec Aurion/Gen 6 Camry, but the Gen 6 Camry in the States which is just about the same in internal gizmos has the following. Maybe you could plan on sourcing a Body ECU for the Gen 6 V6 from the States. That said, only the Intelligent Tester can modify these settings: You know there is a thread on this BTW? Doors auto lock Acording to dannywss there, he mentioned something about paying $200 for an aftermarket module that does the auto lock thing.
  23. Sorry to say mate but I think you got ripped off good. Today... provided my package arrives, I shall be fitting my rear EBC Red Stuff pads and changing my brake fluid.
  24. Yuck! Not quite my idea of cool. Plus that intake work is just pure sh**.
