  4. saw a red lowered stivo heading towards macquarie park on lane cove rd yesterday in the morning and then spotted an even lower white stivo on homebush bay drive heading towards the M4 in the evening yesterday.
  5. first post has been edited to clarify each map ..... i probably cant make the cruise as ill be moving house over the next few weekends .....far easier than doing it in 1 big bang ..... will try and make it to the M4 meet-up though .... as long as i get up in time LOL
  6. Spotted tats In the chaser the other day. AK00FJ u do know parra rd is a 60 zone ..... I hope ur display is 4 km's off LOL :P
  7. pffffft ..... Lambo ...... what about a sportivo :P :P :P :P LOL But dave ..... its purple ...... hahahahaha I run the stuff knowing that i havent had any issues with it at the recommendation at the boys that put my ride together and i trust their judgement given the engines ive seen them build ...... plus i run the stuff in the gearbox ...... but i guess each to their own. As noted though it is pricey.
  8. I actually own an Avalon which shares the 1mz and have put over 330k kms on it. Have kept it well maintained and other than the occasional oil leak which was a result of a gasket or something else minor knock on wood no major engine probs wat so ever, Obviously I can't comment on the other aspects of the car ur looking at since its an Avalon that I own & not a Camry . Wat I can suggest is stick with the 3L ..... The 2.2 ull find u r having to be up it always to get the car moving whereas the added torque and power from the 1mz makes it a much smoother ride Just my thoughts
  9. toyota must keep enough stock on hand to adequately fulfill the warrantable needs of its previous sales plus i think by consumer law there is a period of time that they must continue to maintain stock of parts .... i think its something like 10yrs from the point that they stop selling the product parts must still be available or something like that.
  10. Yeah with the turbo I'd suggest running 10w40. I'm running that from royal purple ..... Does the trick,
  11. Ah .... I take it they were up the road just before the lights at top of the hill before u get to the other maccas heading towards the Hume hwy over pass? ...... That's usually a hot spot for the boys in blue .... Hopefully he didn't get dragged to the pits as well.
  12. So my boost gauge reads kpa & not psi so these are rough conversions. Cold start seems to be 80-85 psi Idle once @ running temp I.e 90 ish degrees seems to be 25psi to 30 psi Coasting @ 80kmh unloaded in 4th or 5th seemed to be the same at 40-45psi Hope that helps
  13. Hmmmm interesting ..... Didn't realize they could can ur rego on the spot. So wat was the crime? Surely not sitting in a maccas car park?
  14. turbo ????? :o :o :o :o do tell. ill have a look for u tomorrow what mine runs like to see if wat ur seeing is comparable to what im seeing.
  15. damn .... i couldnt get out there sorry fella's so what happened ? did we have another fto moment ? lylee what happened now ?
  16. hahahahahaha man someone should have called smile ..... lol
  17. Is there any reason why you are going for an N/A build ? are u looking to enter a comp or series where N/A is a requirement? The reason i ask is going the N/A path although will net u some good gains, in terms of $ per kw its a very expensive path to proceed down vs going force fed .... added is the fact that to take advantage of the limited increase in power ur gonna have to do some weight reduction as well ..... as our little sportivo is a bit of a fat ba$tard. Thing is if u r gonna crack the engine open to do the head work for the stage 3 setup to take full advantage of that ur gonna have to rev it harder = more rev's = need to do the oil pump = more stress on everything. The reality is if u want ur beast to move ur gonna ride it out to 9K rpms or even more. If you are however intent on proceeding down this path i would highly recommend getting in touch with Neil Trama as i think he has tinkered with 2zz's more than anyone in Aus that i am aware of. http://www.neiltrama.com/
  18. i wash........ ah who am i kidding we all know i looked at the car before driving it .... thought it needed a wash and decided against it hahahahah
  19. although the 1zz sump is baffled the moroso is both baffled and gated. Added to this is the fact that the moroso will also allow you to hold almost 6L of oil. Here's what a moroso looks like .... only issue i had was the dip stick wouldnt go in properly so we had to take a little cut out of the baffle. as is always the case .... my moto is do it once do it right
  20. hi Brendan, welcome to the forum i can see although u have been a member for a while u havent really posted much. before someone flames you as you can imagine service & oil related questions get asked over and over and over again rather than starting a new topic it is recommended to simply reply to an existing topic pinned to the top of this forum is a topic called "PREVIOUSLY COVERED TOPICS - HAVE A READ BEFORE POSTING AS IT MAY ALREADY HAVE BEEN COVERED" here is the link .... <click here> About 3/4 of the way down you will find a whole bunch of oil and servicing related topics. regarding your specific questions given 10w30 was being used previously then i dont see an issue with continuing with it .... given that car has done over 100K km's you might want to think about maybe going a slightly thicker oil like a 10w40 but thats really ur call. assuming u were getting the car services every 10K km's and i think the ZRE rolla's take 4.5L of oil i would say it isnt much of an issue that u have had 1 - 1.5L of oil burnt off over a 10K km's .... just keep an eye on ur oil levels like fortnightly or something to be certain there isnt an underlying issue. Regarding recommendation i use royal purple 10w40 however it does come at a price as its significantly more expensive that most of the other oils.
  21. fark me .... u will be $15K in the hole just to get the wheels and brakes ....... start saving boys & girls
  22. Not sure if its quality is as good or not but adding to Jason's post effectively the mechanics supplier probably has a better list price on a comparable part ..... this happens in a lot of different industries and unless ur insistent on getting the specific part then this is what will occur.
  23. this will help u out http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/showthread.php/184-Kaizen-Garage-Mission-Statement-amp-Contact-Details-Including-Banking-Details
