  1. Fog lights scatter so they may help diffuse the cutoff of the normal headlights. Fog lights (being lowly mounted) does light up curb area but it also scatters and light up overhead trees. Try it on a residental street with big bushy overhead trees and observe. They light them up better than normal headlights lol.
  2. Yeah I recall your photos. Oh so thats what you meant when you said you swore it was larger. I though you meant radius wise hehe.
  3. Got the Adrenalin! Bridgestone Campsie had "4 left" at $155 so I went for it. ******************** Ah you got 35,000km from the Dunlop. Hehe I want to replace when it hits the indicators. I got the stock Michelin Vivacy on our Camry to go bold after 55,000km though lol. Not sure why I only got 14,000km on the Dunlop. The only "harsh" thing I did was a drive through the hills Georges Downes Drive and stuff (instead of F3) from Hunter Valley to Sydney. I just get stock size 215 not 225. But yeah it might indeed be a little wider though due to shape. Michelin Energy MXV8 looked rounder than Kumho Solus KH15 on our Camry (205/60R16). Dunlop Sport 300E looked rounder than Bridgestone Adrenalin on our Aurion (215/60R16). The latter two seems more rectangular if you know what I mean. Ok so both of you found Adrenalin to have less wet traction than the stock Dunlop. No I don't really push the car. So maybe its a weird choice for me. Will see how it goes I guess. It does feel a little more quiet but might be my imagination. I only changed two tyres so hard to tell. Got there like 16:55 and they were shutting down. I just asked what time do they open tmw (8am) but the guy did it for me anyway. Its great. Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin 215/60R16 Dunlop Sport 300E 215/60R16 (rear tyre, hope they last til 20,000km) The thread on the Adrenalin seems really deep. But maybe the straight tread pattern is not as good in the wet. Don't know how tread patterns work. Another recall (hehe) was DJKOR feeling confident with the Adrenalin's pattern. Not sure if you can tell what I mean but by the Dunlop being more round and maybe less contact from these photos. The Dunlop had NXT tyre shine from a month ago.   4. Have to replace the front tyres like now. The stock Dulop 300E Hit the indcators after 14,000km. 2008 Aurion Touring. 215/60R16. Called Tempe Tyres (I work like next door) and they weren't excited about selling Michelin Energy MXV8. They mentioend Pirelli P7 for $150. I recall many recommendations for Pontenza Adrenlin and called back and they gave me $180. I am more interested in ride and noise. Hows Adrenlin in the wet? Do I recall DKJOR saying they loose wet traction quicker (as it wears) than his stock Michelin MXV8?
  5. my stock Dunlop 300E has just hit the indicator mark front tyres almost 14,000km only rotated front tyres since I only had my first yearly service (duno if the dealer did but thats written on the 15,000km service)

DKJOR I picked the Aurion because its a better car and Touring wins hands down for equipment level (let just say...don't take headrests for granted!) drivetrain is so smooth and powerful (recall my funny test drive? I drove out onto a smooth residental road and carefully took off and some strange beeps came on, I was even more lost when the sales said its the speed warning...I was doing like 65 but I swear it felt like 40) I was trying to display the numbers to show that Aurion deserves to be on top just not sure why Toyota isn't doing that little bit more to get there don't tell me they don't have the resource for Toyota Australia its peanuts (all that stuff about disagreeing with ANCAP is PR bs to me, if its like Holden then tmw Toyota might release a 5 star test result with their PR turning around 180 degrees)

  11. we got the extended factory warranty for the Aurion I hope its not as dodgy as the dealer extended warranty in the old days I am fairly confident of the Aurion after driving a rental Aurion
  12. if anyone is worried about these things just get extended warranty (if you are keeping it the car for that long) and unworry let he car pay for itself happy thrashing
  13. yeah I get annoyed by the engine braking sometimes it feels weird to go slower and slower while going down an incline but good to know the car is saving us fuel yeah we stalled before on a ramp in D haha (you know how Aurion don't roll back on most light to moderate inclines)
  14. now, besides passenger seat belt warning I hope they put back in the knee air bag (also avaliable in US), do the pole test and get the five star ANCAP alreaedy (and by my calculations, would be the first Australian assembled car to crack 35.00)

  16. I would save the money and wait we are at the end of the model cycle think some of the fancy Lexus stuff will appear in the next model changing wheels and brakes can't be that expensive?
  17. I hope these $60-$100 kits are indeed angled properly often the road is not even narrow but its pretty bad (oncoming car with HID) as for spotted by a cop it would be hard to be spotted if it was 4000k yeah?
  18. Have the black cloth seats on my Aurion. There are some faint white patches of stains that I want to remove. I've tried Meguiar's Cloth & Trim Cleaner and Kitten Interior Cleaner and both have failed. Its always encouraging straight after cleaning but the stains appear again after its dried. Not interested in "I've used XXX for many years" kind of feedback. I've read forums and used those two mentioned above base on recommendations. Only interested in recommendation if you have used it on cloth seats of current model Camry or Aurion.
  19. do you have to lift the car up? are there places DIY people can go to lift the car up professionally for a low cost? by the way what do you mean by trippled? like steering angle error is reduced by two thirds or something on your favourite bend?

  21. haven't been to Perth but I thought only Sydney roads are bad (have been to Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide in order of frequency) yeah the rattle (more like squeak) is also on LHS vent for me it doesn't happen on the RHS one its the small sharp bumps that brings up the rattle on bigger bumps it gets drowned by other noises anyway
  22. yeah my touring was also listed as ATX SE or something I still recall the official Toyota special back around Nov 2008...it was 31,990 Touring driveaway car dealers...a bit like group buys except in a non-transparent kind of way everyone part of the deal could be buying at a different price unless they have the scale to touch fleet discounts there is little reason you can't get it yourself flash them a bank cheque written to them, don't give them your credit card tell them they have 15 minutes
  23. would the better drag coefficient of the Camry be enough to make say 0.1 sec difference? its more than comestic difference to Aurion or Australian Camry, I believe US Camry SE has knee airbag and recliner seats
  24. ok so the UTQG traction rating written on our tyres is about wet traction for dry traction, it'll be more useful for me to just listen to what people say
