  1. A correctly fitted plug will not detriment the tyre whatsoever. Back on topic, 80,000km would be a more realistic servicing plan. If you do it too often you will risk distorting the oil pan and potentially stretching the bolts from continuous torquing/potential over torquing. This may result in a leaking pan and could potentially require the pan and bolts to be replaced.
  2. You need to lift the front of the base of the rear seat to gain access. It takes a fair amount of effort.
  3. Has any attention been paid towards the radiator cap or water pump?
  4. 2GR-FZE(Supercharged). There were also holes in the block.
  5. I think that is a fair assessment. The small aluminium pieces are parts of a couple of pistons.
  6. It may work out to be less. It's definitely not a quick fix.
  7. Starlets are very under rated cars. They are cheap to run and very reliable.
  8. In their eyes, they have fulfilled their end of the deal with the 3 year/100,000km warranty. You would have a hell of a fight on your hands to try get anything at 6 years and 171,000km.
  9. I am confused as to why it has a "no. 16" on it. I have not heard of this happening before.
  10. There are only 2 common spark plug socket sizes, they are 5/8" and 13/16". Are you using a 16mm deep socket instead of a spark plug socket? Spark plug sockets are designed specifically to fit into the tube and around the plug. They also normally have a rubber grommet inside them that grips the plug as well. A 16mm deep socket is lightly larger in diameter than a 5/8" spark plug socket. I have also measured the outer diameter of a couple of mine and confirmed this.
  11. Did you use the correct size plug socket? What size was it? Was it easy to get in the tube? Or did you have to force it?
  12. It's a pain to do as there is plenty of stuff in the way. Expect 5+ hours of labour as a guess, depending on exact location and the way the mechanic attempts the job.
  13. Fuel economy, emissions and space most likely.
  14. I have personally witnessed one grenade on a factory tune.
  15. Sounds more like a fuel or ignition issue rather than starter motor.
  16. It's custom made and the style is common on V6 Toyotas(modified) as it is less restrictive. It is probably worth a couple of horsepower.
  17. The TRD was detuned from the original power figures and the rev limit was lowered due to engine failures during testing. Some food for thought.
  18. The leads look like they have seen better days, it might be worth replacing them as well as the cap.
  19. It does make it hard to believe you have not misused the vehicle when you say that you have done "hard driving" and it "Will drag the [censored word removed] off most SV6 and XR6." If you were aware that oils break down with time and temperature, why did you not do some preventative maintenance? A filter and oil change is a bit of a pain, but overall the benefit outweighs the time taken and risk of failure. Just because a manufacturer says you don't need to service a component, doesn't mean that you can't. There are many cars out there with more kilometres on them still going strong.
  20. We had a major upgrade and there are still issues that need fixing. We also don't have an unlimited server size. Since you found your solution I will lock this.
  21. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/51492-posting-photos-and-videos/ I need to fix the video side of the link when I get a chance. It hasn't worked since the forum upgrade for some reason.
  22. Depending on the drivers; in a legal drag race, I think the Supra(JZA80 Twin Turbo) by a car length. In stock form they aren't that fast. The Aurion has the disadvantage being a heavy FWD car. The Supra side of this forum is not very frequently used, as they have dedicated forums elsewhere.
  23. That looks more like a Toyota part number.
