u driving a semitrailer or something? hahaha!

are you serious your car (im guessing its a corolla) is beeping while reversing?

did you buy your car new or 2nd hand?

if its 2nd hand i guess its a mod that the first owner did. they may have changed one of the reverse tail lights to one of those that make the beep noise when its lit.

if thats not it, hope someone else can explain it?!

personally i wouldnt mind the beeping reverse... i dont wanna run over my kid.

The reverse beep is a standard feature for all Sportivos because the six speed puts the reveres next to first gear. Everyone that's ever been in my car always laughs at it. Unfortunately the beep can only be heard from the inside of the car so it doesn't serve as a warning to other while reversing.

As for disabling it, do a search. This topic has definitely been covered before. Someone managed to disable it by disconnecting the speaker if I'm not mistaken.

yep found the beeping bug its under the stering wheel on the plastics (there are three molded lines in it and the speaker is on the outher side just now to find time to disconect it yea no more beep beep

Hmm is there anyway of disconnecting it form the gearbox, i would stil like to maintain the lights on and key in buzzer

there must be a way to do it from the gear box but i think ital be to much work and yea there is a need for everything but hell you just need to remember were you put your gear stic and to take your keys out when you get out

from what i have heard, you play with the reverse beep anywhere but with the speaker, the ecu will go into limp mode.

if u get rid of the speaker, u loose the speaker for all beeping reminders.

Its just a beep... its not like u are in reverse for more than 30 seconds max... get over it and deal with it, the rest of us do.

That beeper has saved me quite a few times from reversing into the car behind me at a set of traffic lights. As annoying as it is its there for a reason.

PM Carlo - IZZ-FE. He'll give you a Rav 4 conversion  if you have a side-on pic of your car he can tell you how to do it. Actually there's a thread on OWF about how to do it ;)
