Im not sure I understood what you meant in your first sentence.

The thing is, the LCD doesn't show me how many my fuel usage per 100 k's. It just tells me my total K's that Ive done. No where on the LCD does it say 'TANK AVE XX.XL" like in this screenshot here http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/uploads/post-4031-1177581722.jpg

Have you pushed in the knob sticking out of the cluster to change the what is displayed?

Thats the function right there. As I said, this shows you many litres of fuel you are using per 100 km's for that particular amount/tank of fuel. You cannot reset it by pressing a switch or any other way except by filling the car up with petrol at the bowser.

Heh, yep. Ive tried that and it still doesn't show me the average fuel use. When I press that button, down the bottom on the screen it changes to TRIP A (and the number of K's I have done whilst on trip a). I press the button again, it shows TRIP B (and the number of K's I have done on trip B). When I press it again, it goes back to showing my total K's.

I might have to get some photos of it.

Ok Ive taken some photos of the LCD/Dash.

This is what it displays when you first turn on the car.

This is what it displays when you press the knob once

This is what it shows when you press it for a second time

And if you press it again, it goes back to what it was in the first photo. Could it be that my ECU is stuffed?

Ok Ive just pressed it and guess what. Nothing happened. May have bought myself a dud of a car. Not only the DISP button but the temp buttons on the steering wheel dont work either. Every other button is fine tho.

I also see that my P R N D lights near the gear stick dont light up either.

This is the steering wheel. The buttons on the right hand side read Temp with down arrow and up arrow. The two buttons under that read OFF and AUTO.

Those buttons dont seem to work for me. Is this a job for an auto electrician?

Ill grab a photo of it for you tomorrow. I have an upgraded interior all the wood grain + leather seats etc. Looks like the Presaras interior.

Not sure if there is a CD player, there is a GPS unit however.

Edit, here is what my interior looks like minus the the engine push start button. Just googled a pic.

I have read posts here which people have said brake kit from one model of Toyota can be directly swapped into another Toyota model which got me thinking into potential brake upgrade.

So what information/measurements etc do I need to find out whether a different Toyota model's brake kit could be fitted as a straight swap into another?

Rotor thickness, rotor diameter, rotor centre bore size and caliper size/offset. These are just a few measurements, it would pay to go to a pick 'n' pull type wreckers.

There is a thick bar which runs along the back of the engine underneath and connects to my coils (seems like a sway bar), what is this called?

Should there be any movement in it? I can pull on this, it moves slightly and clunks.

If it shouldn't move how do I fix? Is it just a case of new rubber bushes.

Thanks

Here's another one from me:

I just serviced the Avensis with engine oil and oil filter change a few days ago (~150km). I used Castrol Magnatec 10w-40.

The engine oil was topped up with 10w-30 Semi Synthetic oil at the mechanics today as I was getting some bushings put in (he did my previous service when he used the same 10w-30 Semi Syn so he didnt know I had serviced it with the 10w-40).

Would it be fine to use this oil mix till my next service in ~5000kms time?

Thank you.

It shouldn't be an issue at all.
