I can hardly recommend n00bs go to Lakeside with no run off and the highest average lap speed of any track in Australia.
Agreed. I haven't been on Lakeside since it was done up but from all accounts, it is a bit more forgiving than when we used to play on it in the 90's.

I just get bored going round and round and round the same way on the same track all the time, that's one of the reasons why I like the challenge of rallying. The chance to drive flat out on different roads that you have never driven on before, having to read the road conditions and adjust your driving accordingly, and having to listen to your navigator at the same time as well (which is harder than you think).

Different strokes for different folks. :)

All credit to Ro and his peashooteR Colt, he got me on the second run 100%.

The first run, that makes sense if you were off boost, as we were side by side all the way to whatever speed i change for third. that said, i don't have the pleasure of boost, I have to wait to 6000rpm.

regardless, the colt got some serious mumbo, and the stivo, we'll it will eat lesser modded colts for breakfast.

I think ro' has realised the error of his ways and should have bought a stivo,

We all know if he did, it would be the fastest, best looking one at the meets, so maybe i'm glad he didn't.

I have also been on the original surface and it had much more character and required the exact line, not the current 'there abouts' line the new surface allows.

Awwww That takes all the fun out of it. I remember how important it was to hit the apex at the kink, if you were more than a metre wide, you were in for an interesting time. Please tell me the next double apex corner is still tricky to get right? :(

Karosel is about the same, I don't really find it all that tricky; the apex under the bridge is slightly harder to see now that the surface is all the same and there are no longer little markers (resurfacing patches) on the surface to guide you to the apex.

Out of curiosity, what car, specs and lap times were the go in the 90's? The new surface and layout change, from what I have found, is about 1s faster.

Me and the missus are up on the sunshine coast ATM, so we'll be coming along to the meet if there are no problems with that... Keen to meet up with our QLD squad.

QLD is the place to be if you have an Aurion... unlike the Sydney squad that seems to be focussed around ZRE's :P

If you are coming from the Sunny Coast, just be aware not to expect too much. Our meets are nice and simple and can sometimes end up having only a few people turn up. It's just that the drive is a little on the long side and the meet might not leave you satisfied. Who would drive such a distance just for a meet :ph34r: .

Evo7 kinda does that distance... and all that seems to happen is that he gets ragged! :blink:

My statement was more of a joke. I've turned up to two Sydney meets, once having to drive from Canberra, the other having to drive from the Hunter Valley. I'm that dedicated :lol:.

      KUN26R Hilux Single Cab - Tray to Tub

      Hi everyone, I own a 2011 Toyota Hilux KUN26R. It currently has a tray. I am looking for a single cab tub (image for reference below). I have a couple of questions for everyone: - Were KUN26R's ever released in Australia with a single cab tub as an option? I have looked high and low over all sorts of marketplaces within Australia and honestly cannot seem to find one. I don't believe I have ever seen one on the streets of Aus either. - Does anyone have experience making this conversion? Where can I find a tub? I have found some examples of the style side single cab KUN26R's in the UK, EU, Africa and Thailand but in all instances it has been part of a whole car sale and the sellers have not been willing to part out. Even so, if there is the chance that I can buy this tub in Australia it would be much better as it would save the hassle of organising freight. Thanks everyone in advance. I'm jealous of overseas countries who seem to have gotten this model in abundance.

      1993 CSI limited Corolla Seca hatchback 80k kms. We are the second owner and have complete service and maintenance records of the car from new. Previously owned from new by older lady who rarely drove the car in the final years. Very neat and tidy vehicle. Unfortunately another vehicle has reversed into the car and their towball caused some damage to radiator, air con system and fan. The right person could easily fix the vehicle. We are just not in a financial position to do this. We cannot bear to send the car to salvage so posting here in hope that another Toyota enthusiast is interested incontinuing the life of the car. These cars are much loved and we have loved our “Beryl” during her time with us. Please feel free to ask questions. Open to offers above $3k

      Rav4 smart key keyless entry

      I got my new rav4 2024 hybrid gx yesterday. The fob let's me lock and unlock using the button but doesn't do this automatically for proximity. Once in the car the push start ignition turns on without holding the key up to it and the multimedia system tells me that the smartkey system is activated. I've read the manual over and over but can't find a fix for this specific thing. Has anyone else had this?

      Buying 3rd hand 2010 Aurion Sportvio for $9000

      Hey I'm looking to buy my first car and was looking at this 2010 Aurion Sportvio with 165,000km for around $9000and relatively new tires. Just wondering if this is a good price and if I should be worried about such high km's with expensive maintenance. Only looking to have this car for 5 ish years, so will it last that?

      200 series 2nd Row centre seat belt removal

      Hi Our dog chewed through the centre seat belt on the second row seats was looking for help on how to remove tensioner and seat belt for replacement. Hopefully someone can advise of how to do this task would be much grateful. Kind Regards Greg Richardson
