Tough Cleaning Materials

All, I have this hideous sticker after Gunk like substance from trying to take off the stickers on the side of the car. I have used the following:

- Degreaser

- WD40

- Cut and polish

- Hair dryer

- Bug Remover

- Carwash Degreaser. :(

The gunk is the sticker residue from 10yrs worth of sticky >_<;;

Can you help, or have any recommendations?

I used this 'Orange GOO' remover from Woolies. It seemed to be working ok. Does any one know of anything MORE POWERFUL?

Maybe a light wipe of med to strong thinner could do the trick??..

i scraped most of it off with a plastic card. Still got some gunk there. Will be good to apply more of the GOO remover.

DON'T USE THINNERS UNLESS YOU WANT TO WRECK YOUR PAINT.

Try some turps on a soft piece of terry towling cloth. spray it onto the glue and let it soften. then with your finger try and get the glue to ball up and remove the majority of it with your finger. Noce you have most of it off then spray if and wipe gently with the cloth to remove all residue. Once done then re polish the area and job is complete.

I have found that Shower Power safely removes everything from sticky goo to Blu Tack.

I used it to remove gunk left over after peeling sticker off my car.

Patch test in small inconspicuous area first though, just to be sure.

Any citrus based cleaner (using citrus oil not just an orange scent) usually does the trick. I got a Citrus aerosol spray from Repco, Spray it on & leave it to soak through...then rub with a terry toweling until it balls up and comes off. Then spray & whipe off in one direction and every things sweet.

The stuffs so good I went back for another 2 cans spare

THAT is the safest bet peeps, id go with that method if i we you guys hehe can do mine?

I used turpentine on my older car before. Worked quite well actually.

I have removed my bonnet protector and there was two small peices of tape that guards against scratching. I tried to remove the sticker as one but of course ripped. So i just ran my finger across repetativley (sp) until it came off.

I found that out the hard way...removing rubber bumper corners on the Forester + heat & rubbing left me with sore hands.

Desolvit, or meguiars window cleaner works well :)
