Don't expect to see any results guys. Their dyno was set up to run RWD only. They said we can run but they won't be able to put the fan in front. Not worth the risk and the results wouldn't be accurate too. Disappointed.

I've had my car run without the fan before. All it did was give me decreasing power figures across the three runs. Was meant to be 2 but they did the extra as the figures were too different.

Went something like this; 116kW, 114kW, 110kW; a good show of heat soak at its best.

Rowan and I were having a good think about it before we pulled out. We had the feeling that it should be able to take it, but then again, what if something doesn't go so great. As well, it seemed that the best runs they were getting were the third run (maybe the operator) and at that rate, there's no way our figures would be what we were hoping.

dave where did u go to get your dyno done? and any places to recomend?

im going to run it through brenden about a dyno day seing he recons theres going to be a TOCAU one. dont think there will be much interest tho

nar there was 95% tough as v8's so we didnt fit in, 1 or 2 rice, no rex's or evo's either

im planning a dyno day in about a month for us and the anyone else here that wants to join

dont think there would be much interest tho as most of use have been on. so there will just be aurions again i would emagine....maybe nate will come and battle us :P

I could always bring out the race spec 4A-GE to battle your Aurions... :spiteful:

CES is at Meadowbrook...

Northy's car would be too powerful to be run at CES. You're Aurions would be right though...

ill be putting the Yaris on the rollers down at CES so look out for some BIG numbers....

hey rowan... if you just want a power run, most workshops with dynos will let you book in to get a power run done... its slightly more expensive than these dyno days, but not by much...

the places that i know of that can actually operate a dyno are Mercury(as much as i hate admitting that), APC(again, it pains me!), Maxfix, Crossley, CES, Northside 4x4 and Milanco(dont know if they're still around or not lol)...

just call them up and see if you can pop in one day and get it done... :)

or, wait for the tocau dyno day.. :)

In addition to the cost saving though, a dyno day would probably be more worth it because that way you have other like cars that you can compare against as every dyno varies and so do the surrounding conditions. I will probably wait till we have an organised dyno day.

Guys dyno day at CES will be great fun as they have been in years gone by. As we now have a broader variety of cars not 15 odd sportivos battling it out and a few 1ZZ's!!

Same dyno same day is the way to compare results!!

We will have trophies, some prizes and if every pre books I will have some categories for the dyno day as well as the trophies for the show and shine. So aurions v aurions, corolla's v corolla's etc etc. Usually a max of about 25 cars so be sure to book in or miss out. Will confirm date in august shortly.

CES' dyno is a 2WD dyno rated to a max of 300hp.

just for the aurion guys that went to fat pipes....6cyl class winner went to that BA that pulled 190hp.....makes me even more angry that i didnt get on

trophy looked awsoome too!! was a massive piston and rod with engravings of your name/car and class you won on it...

that would of been ours boys....

      05 hiace ecu

      Hi all, new member needing some help with an issue that has me stumped, replacing ignition and had a short somehow. Van would not crank or obviously start, found blown fuse and replaced, now car cranks but won’t start, no check engine light when ignition is first turned on and scan tool will not communicate with ecu. All fuses good except fuse 26 on instrument panel fuse box has no power. almost convinced my ecu is cooked but before outlaying for a new one thought someone may either advise another possible cause or confirm ecu likely the issue, appreciate any advise or experience similar.

      1989 Hilux Low Voltage

      Hey all, recently got a 1989 Hilux with the petrol 22r engine. I had plugged a voltage meter into the 12v socket because I suspected an electrical problem as the battery light had been on. It had read 11.9 volts initially but the more I drive the more it deteriorates, currently sitting at 10.9 (after several hours of driving) when the engine is running. This obviously doesn't charge the battery and it can't start by itself. I have since replaced the battery and yesterday I did the alternator with a brand new one. I've checked all the grounds that I can see but it's still sitting at 10.9 volts and deteriorates over time. I was thinking the voltage regulator is the next best bet? I looked at it visually and it seems fine. Anyone got any other ideas? Note: I had a very long drive the other week and on one occasion the voltage spiked back up to 15+ volts for a short while before going back down to about 11.4 And yeah I'm trying not to drive it too much because I know it's probably damaging the battery being on such low voltage. Any help would be awesome thanks!

      FUEL WARNING MESSAGE

      Photo below showing remotely mounted relay for sup pump and switch to connect relay coil to earth when required. The earth connection for the switch was found using a test light in an empty relay socket just near where the relay is now mounted. You can trace the solid black wire. Btw, I soldered all the crimp connectors. I don't have a lot of faith in crimp connectors. Geoff

      Wanting to build my car.

      I’ve brought my first car a while ago it’s a 2008 Toyota Aurion sportivo zr6 it has 215xxx kms I’ve been wanting to modify it as it is tidy but I’m unsure if I should since the car is this old and I have had to replace the oil cooler lines a month ago (my car dumped its oil on me) just unsure if they go good after a certain age. what I do want to do to it is. wheels lowering springs or coil overs stiffer sway bar exhaust tint all round after market head lights and tail lights (if any of you know decent ones could you shear a link as I’ve only been able to find some on eBay) if there is anything else that would make it look good like body kits if there are any would be nice to know.       2004 hzj79 surging/jolting

      Gday Ive got a problem with my 2004 hzj79 with 235,000kms with no turbo, ive takin it to a few places all have different answers. At 1400rpm just on light throttle it seems to be surging/jolting as if your on and off the accelerator. Ive recently had the head gasket, head, injectors, fuel filters and timming belt all done and is still happening after the works been done. Has anyone else had the same problem before or be able to point me in right direction? Cheers.
