hey everyone,

just keen to know, who out of all of us have been sick/ill since the start of Winter?

I am keen to gauge just how many have had the Flu or something along those lines.

I had it, then managed to shake it, and now i have it again :(

Bugger, that's no good mate. I've managed to evade falling victim, surprising really since I'm on public transport every day and work at a hospital?

I got sick this year... for a couple of days. The circumstances that led to me getting sick were my own fault though.

My immune system is pretty good. Every year I usually pick up on whatever flu is going around and get a light fever (always luckily happens at the end of the day). Once that happens, straight into a scolding hot shower then rugged up in bed. Next day it's like I never had it. Best defence for the flu I find.

It always amazes me how quickly it spreads though. You usually just hear of one of your friends getting sick, then the next day everyone else is sick. I'm usually in the clear at that point.

Well I've been really lucky this year. My whole family got sick with the flu however I was at the snow during this time so i missed it. Also my better half has been sick and in bed and I helped nurse her and I still haven't caught anything off her

yeah, ive had it this yeah, i was doing so well too...

All of my friends had gotten sick, and i had not... i thought i was in the clear, but once they were over it, I got it.

No flu for about 5yrs...Copped food poisioning last year,bloody dam near killed me... :(

p.s Lets just say i don't eat the BBQ snags from Bunnings anymore... :nono:

i'm only sick when i cant be bothered working :P

haha..nah, i did have a bad case of the flu around a month or so ago, spent around 4 days in bed feeling sorry for myself

I took Wednesday off as sick leave to look after my missus thinking I was being nice.

Now I have the flu and I have to go to the doctors later on today. It blows cos this is the second time I've gotten sick this winter (albeit last time was only for a few days).

Was feeling so crap this morning throwing up and couldn't get out of bed, pretty sure if the flu of the Swine variety!

i've also been in and out with the cold the last couple of weeks, starting to feel the nose block again :angry:

btw.....cigarettes are bad mmmkay

I came down with something shocking over the Queens Birthday long weekend, feeling woozy on the Friday night and by Sunday afternoon I was completely out of it. Monday wasn't fun either, but the worst day was the Tuesday when I had to go back to work (casual so couldn't afford a day off) - absolute hell.

yesterday, i started getting sore throat. badly, everytime i cough, i will not stop, face red and feels like puking. went to local pharmacist, they gave me one of those betadine gargle thing, it helps.

but... guess what? today.... runny nose, headache, blocked ears and the rest... including aching etc.

so yeh... not feeling good at the moment T_T

      You're not wrong there Ash, greedy retailers trying to make a dollar. I say let them all bleed & see how they like it, surely they must be hurting by now. I have rarely walked into either of the big 3 auto stores, essentially purchased nothing all year. Have plenty stock to keep going, anticipating big Black Friday sales. I have also been considering swapping out my Aurion for something much taller (cos lower back issues) & super efficient but I just can't bring myself to flushing all that $$ for the sake of it, especially given the Aurion is still like a new car. Also concerned about leaving the very good safety of a car manufactured by Toyota for something a little unknown despite also being Japanese made. Then there's the ever changing landscape in the middle east which is excuse enough to instill fear into everyone from producers to stockbrokers to retailers and of course those that live there. Interesting times ahead for sure.

      Advice Please

      Welcome to the forum John, Depending on where you are your best option may be to get your existing alternator checked first to be totally sure that is the issue.The next if unable to find one suitable even on the aftermarket you may have to have that one rebuilt ..That may be your only option..I am sure somewhere there is one suitable but finding it is always the issue. I would get good advice from an AUTO ELECTRICIAN as they will have the inside knowledge of any sources that may able able to help you mate. KAA

      Times have changed post-COVID and no great bargain oil specials worth mentioning until now. Latest Repco catalogue has 50% discount Penrite Vantage Semi Synthetic 10W-40 Engine Oil 6L - VANSEMI10W40006. $35 for 6 litres is worth considering whether it will be applicable for your vehicle's engine and servicing requirements. Because most of my driving is short distance and as preventative measure against oil sludge, I use a comparatively short oil change interval between 3-6 months. It is a cost benefit decision.       Advice Please

      I have an imported Hiace 200 with the 2.0l 1TR FE petrol, engine. There is a noise from the engine that i'm pretty sure is the alternator. I'm finding it difficult to source a new alternator at a reasonable price, It seems there are plenty for the 2.7 engine. Does anyone know if one of those would fit my 2.l engine. Thanks

      Hi Team Toyota, I am fortunate enough to be the proud owner of 2 Toyota's - an '03 Rav4 AWD Cruiser and an '07 Toyota Hiace. Both have been reliable and strong with incredible components that are so well fitted, it's a struggle to dismantle any part of them.       Car Detailing Recommendations

      I recently came across Car Detailing Sydney, and they seem to be a great option for getting your car detailed around the area. I had my friend’s 2020 Camry detailed there, and it turned out fantastic—the shine was like it just rolled off the dealership lot. It cost about $400, and they were really thorough with both the exterior and interior. Definitely worth checking out if you want your Corolla looking fresh again.

      Landcruiser 200 GPS

      I got mine from GTzone, a 7-inch head unit for my 2018 Land Cruiser. I think all the aftermarket Android screens are very similar. My one from GTzone came with a GPS antenna, I believe the one from Brummstadt should include one as well. It has two options for using the navigation app, one is to insert a SIM card or share a hotspot from your phone to use the navigation apps, which uses the built-in GPS antenna, the other is to use the built-in Apple CarPlay system, which uses the phone’s GPS for navigation. In my case, because I always travel to the outback during my vacations, some areas have no signal at all. So, I downloaded offline maps from the Play Store to use for navigation, which doesn’t need internet during navigation and only uses the built-in GPS. It saves your phone’s power at the same time, I guess?       300 series turbo issues

      We have a GR that had the 7th Injector replaced June 2024 (warning came up on dash Dec 2023 @ approx 18k) toyota cleaned injector in Jan when they inspected the problem and said parts will be 8 - 12 weeks (i dont know why so long for a common problem) but they advised to continue to drive / tow as normal. 3 months later parts arrived and they said they will complete job at june 2yr service interval. It was notated on paperwork torque bolts were re torqued. Today driving up blue mountains 70kmh to Katoomba towing 3.2T Zone RV van i experienced the turbo chirp on and off and the power dropping / surging. Lasted about 5-10 secs going up mountain but gave me a shock as havent experienced it before (hence the googling now and reading about previous issues) it didnt happen again but we arrived at caravan park 15 mins later and i didnt find a hill again with same steep incline as when it happened. In the 18 months of towing i havent experienced it before and car has been faultless. Todays trip was only fm Toowoon Bay to Katoomba so be interesting to see if it happens when we head to Bathurst in a few days on any steep inclines. Car is at 33k now. Currently 1 month into a 5 month trip.
