100% agreed .... Like that green eclipse in fast n furious that was awesome.... ive seen some absolute shockers at auto salon car shows in aus ....

As for the corolla i dont think it would look to bad with the under body glow

Quite old photos  :lol:  I never use them anymore, have sort of gone off that phase pretty quickly.  My old man puts them on whilst driving at night though.  :blink:

In NSW i think they are illegal as i think the official wording is "they will be distracting to other drivers" can someone in NSW confirm ?????

Not sure about the law, but the "BLUE" light will definately attract the coppers. As we stated before, the blue is representing the emergency vehicle.

So, they will definately pull you over with such a big and bright blue light. A friend of mine got a Neon Honda badge "H"......on his boot. The copper followed his car for 5 mins, then pull him over :(

The only reason i mention it was by brother had halogens and he had them on once and the copper told him they were a distraction to other drivers .... luckily he let him off with a warning......

Man i hate all these grey line laws cus u never actually know where u stand

I got blue and green interior neon. Yeah, I think they are illegal in NSW. The boys in blue would say they are sort of distracting the driver.

So, I switched mine off everytime I stop and do a random breathe test. <_<

as far as i know.. they can be on your car (if you really feel the need....) but can not be turned on while the car is in motion.

ohh and red and blue lights arent allowed because they are reserved for emergency vehicles...

orange lights are for indicators only...

white have to be at the front, no at the back (no red at the front)...

in qld purple is not allowed because it is the Qld Transport vehicle colours...

i think green is for the cane trucks...

thats all i can think of at the moment

hi guys.. yeah i know, the grey lines in the law. well i have something for you guys. I have a million colour LED underbody kit installed in my black sportivo and it look sweet as. HOwever im a bit scared to show it off too becoz of cops etc. i have a 3 way switch for it and it's wired to my ignition light. (wen i open the door, my LEDs are on.) that sorta deal. looks really sweet. but yeah.. i contacted someone from brisbane transport.. below is the email :

In response to your enquiry regarding neon lights, below are the current

guidelines.

AIS INFORMATION SHEET No. 21

Alternative lights

Additional lights fitted to motor vehicles and, in particular, alternative

lighting on dressed up vehicles with underbody lighting, such as neon

lights and ultra violet lights, are acceptable, subject to certain

conditions.

(TO(RUM-VSS)) allows lights not mentioned in the standards to be fitted in

addition to the required lights, whereas the former Traffic Regulation 1962

required specific approval, which was not often granted. Lights that flash

or are white, red, yellow or blue are mentioned in the standards. However,

pink lights, for example are not mentioned and could, theoretically, be

fitted.

The use of blue lights are reserved for police vehicles in Queensland but

ambulances and fire engines in other states may use blue lights.

As such, additional underbody lighting such as neon lights and ultra violet

lights are acceptable provided the light omitted is not blue, yellow, red

or white. Of the last two, red lights must not be seen from the front and

white must not be seen from the rear. Other colours are acceptable as long

as they do not flash or dazzle another driver.

Other additional lighting requirements are covered by the regulations and

which is summarised in the brochure "All About Modifications to Motor

Vehicles". This brochure may be sighted on the Queensland Transport website

at www.transport.qld.gov.au

Fw: Vehicle modification query

It doesn mention anything about green though. but yeah. sorta funny how it goes you can technically have pink lights. weird huh?

But yeah, i asked another dude from Northfield, coz they fit NEONS etc, and he goes.. apparently to make them legal, you have to purchase this modification plaque or plate or something to place on your car which costs $200. so yeah... if you want legal neons or watever, i guess $200 extra does the trick? dont quote me though. But yeah, i'ts quite stupid really. UK can pretty much roam free with them.. apart from the emergency vehicles colours too.

BTW, i think interior neons are fine, i have blue as well :) but i try to keep it low to the ground so you can't see them from out side (unless you look in of course). Always have a switch though just incase :)
