Just wondering if many ppl got booked over the long weekend with all those po po's out there, or if you kept getting rbt.

A grand total of zero.

If you behave yourself, you wont get booked. simple.

Total count: 0

Why? Because of what Mick said above. Asking the question "who got booked" is creating an impression that we are not responsible drivers. Sure there are some that fit into that category, but it's not something worthy of discussion. It was just a less obvious way of saying "who drove like an idiot over Easter and was unlucky enough to get caught due to the extra police presence".

Being pulled over for an RBT also fits into the same category as well since they usually have reason if they are going to pull you over. Driving into a road-block RBT though is another story and is nothing out of the ordinary if you come across multiples of these in a holiday period.

That's because when you sped past at 200kmph they didn't see which house you pulled into :P

Also, nil for myself, but seen dozens of police, I was in the city for most of the weekend though, made sense

 my car lives outside (:(), so they would've seen it... :)

i think its just cause i live on a street with some dodgy fuqs... i've seen cop cars pull up outside my house (yes, i shat myself! lol) and they jumped out of their cars and ran down the street to a house a few doors down... hahaha

Actually surprised at the lack of police presence on the Hume Freeway over the weekend - I drove home to Bright on Good Friday and not a single car, only passed one patrol car driving the other way and that was between Rushworth and Murchison, small rural towns. Also surprised there was no Driver Reviver area set-up on the Hume despite the advertisements on TV. Apparently there were quite a few on the Calder FWY though, Barb travelled to Gisborne and there were several. Drove back to Bendigo on Anzac Day and didn't see a single car again, so there must have been more emphasis on the city than there was on the country. Odd considering Bendigo is the hoon capital of Victoria <_<

Ditto with the above though, a lot of people need to get over the "police are bad" attitude, its a privilege to drive a car and its quite fortunate for some that we do not have harsher penalties for many crimes committed behind the wheel. So what if you get pulled over by an RBT and are 5-10 minutes late, they might just nab the drunk driver who can cause an accident further down the road.

Your probably replying my post how i was saying 12.04 i dont mind whe they do a rbt or where because i dont drink drive, but i found it funny how the RBT started when double demerits started, anyways listened on the news that NSW police where trying to hit a record of pulling over more cars then they ever have over the easter weekend.

And you right tash some crimes that happen behind the wheel arent dealt with to seriously, but yet there is some petty crimes behind the wheel that is delt to serious.

For a p-plater any speeding fine is 4 points i understand because p-plates are tool drivers i am no angel my self i drive like a tool sometimes to, but for example i had a freind he was doing 64k's in a 60 zone and he lost his license for 6 months because of the double demerits. And everyone here knows it doesnt take much to go over by a few k's, i lost 4 points on my license, for a 60 in a 50 zone mine due about 20 metres before i got pulled over was a 60 road officer had no proof, and yet gave me the fine i could of taken it to court and complained about it but i let it slide he told me it is only 1 point, i lost my license becase of it when i was a red p-plater, I was at a shopping centre and my p-plates were stolen i got pulled over as soon as i left, i told the office what happened and said im going to a petrol station to buy some new ones he didnt care gave me a fine, Another 3 points.

See all of them matters, ill be happy to the fine they can give me maximum charge money isnt a problem but when they kick you off the street everything goes wrong in those 3 months i lost my license i stoped work, i stoped alot of things i was pretty much going crazy.

But ive learned my lesson license= EVERYTHING.

My whole post is mainly aimed at highway patrols they are just d**k's, other patrol cars are fine i have even heard from normal patrol car's from there own mouth they have said Highway patrol they wreck our name on the road because of there rudeness and the harsh fines they give so they get there commision.

The inconsistency between states and how drivers are treated doesn't help either - when I went to Sydney for last year's annual meet whilst participating in the cruise I was severely tail-gated by what I later found out was a very specialised unit of police cars used in NSW. BG Pete has the photos to prove how dangerously he close he was and in the curves we were in he is very lucky that I backed right off to account for him, but the whole time down through those twists he pushed and pushed trying to force a mistake and accident. I was actually going to put a complaint in and then decided I didn't have the energy for it. So those kinds of officers certainly don't help the overall perception of the force.

I am sorry to hear about the above in your case RedSportivo but as you have admitted it means you have definitely learnt your lesson, its unfortunate that for a lot of us we learn it the hard way after having things taken away. I am certainly no angel behind the wheel 100% of the time either, but I am definitely growing more respectful I guess you would say as I get older. You can never ever be too careful though, a lot of people mistakenly believe that its only the ones in the high powered cars hooning and causing accidents but it is just as easy to kill yourself or others in a Hyundai. For the hoon capital of Victoria as well Bendigo has got a lot of 'troublemakers' in Lancers, Mirages, Accents etc

the harsh fines they give so they get there commision.

1. Those "harsh penalties" are imposed by the government. The Police get the somewhat unfortunate task of having to enforce them. If you have a problem with the severity of fines/demerits etc, take it up with the government, not the Police.

2. Believe it or not, Police DO NOT get a commission for the number of fines etc they hand out. Police do not get a commission of any sort for the work they do.

I can understand the frustration that some motorists may feel when issued with an infringement of some sort, but at the end of the day the Police are only doing their job. Like others before me have said, if you're not doing any wrong, then there won't be any problems... :D

I always find it funny how people keep bitching about how the police, blah blah, are all revenue raisers etc. At the end of the day, they wouldn't be able to raise said revenue if you didn't let them. FFS. Some people need to be realistic.

Oh no. McDonalds is making me fat. I think it's more wise to complain to them that their meals aren't healthy enough rather than me choosing something else to eat.

Normal patrol cars dont get any sort of commision.

Highway patrol's do some have admitted to it and some havent, but you get good in bad and all but majority of them are pricks in general.

Not bitching stating a fact i couldnt careless, and you say blame the goverment police ask for these sort of punishments and they get it granted for example in sydney now if your pulling a pursuit its instant jail charge read about it in the paper the police minister insisted it and they got it granted, not that i dont have anything wrong with it i reacon its an appropiate decision but its not all the goverment at the end of the day.
