help!!! need front pads for my ZZE122

Recommended Posts

Budget performance - Bendix Ultimate ~$80-100 a pair

Midrange Performance - Ferodo 2500 ~$150-$250 a pair

Higher end - Endless NA-Y ~$250-$300

Top end......... well I'm sure you don't want to go there, they would be the 'Track Only' type that are really not suitable as a all around pad

Select one to suit your driving style.

You'll find that the more and fast your wear out your pads is probably not a bad thing, otherwise it'll be the other way around.

i.e. aggressive pads tend to wear out the rotors instead.... (isn't that right shao?!)

I use Lucas, cheap and reliable! :) have not faded on me yet on road or track! :D

sensitive but not too aggressive... ;)

from personal experience I'd go with the Ferodo DS2500, if they dont make a pad for your car, the guys at St Mary's Specialised Brake and Clutch can cut a pad to suit your car from a larger pad.

would any one know if there are any pads available with low brake dust. have to be south africa model. apparently they use diff pads. i've rung up bendix to ask for bendix ultimate and they dont make it for the zze122 or 1zzfe.

Nothing but problems with South African brakes... All pads and all rotors trashed by 20,000kms :( :( :( ...

Do you guys HONESTLY think stock pads are going to handle the way you drive...

Its one of the first things I upgrade on any car (that I intend to mod)...

EBC's are good pads, but they are dusty...at the end of the day a harder pad is more likely to wear disks quicker and also work at higher temps to...

Endless are overprices unless you are doing some serious track work...

Bendix Ultimates are good if you can get them...have run them on a few cars with upgraded rotors and they have been fine, only when you punish them will they start to fade, and sometimes that is also as a result of the fluid getting hot and the lines heating as they are rubber...another two items that should be upgraded...

Its all about a compromise...
