 its sickening whoever started this Big Brother thing in the first place, who the hell cares about what a bunch of star-craze teenagers get up to in a house?? they should get a bloody life and get themselves a bloody job or do somethng to show their worth. they are a bad act for younger people and Big Brother is a total waste of resources, it should be shut down  Its sad to see all the news on "improper" or "inappropriate sexual conduct" going on in the house and its not just the guys, everyone in that house should get a slap and a wakeup call. I don't care if its a publicity stunt or not, whoever did it or even thought up this idea should be locked up. Its demeaning and in some cases almost criminal. What are your thoughts on this? I am just of sick of it, not to mention it always pushes Formula 1 broadcasts back behind schedule  :P Edited by ZEEROLLA

I would probably go to the effort to disguise myself as a vaccuous, preening dumb tool (i.e: your regular big brother housemate) just to get the chance to punch Gretal Kileen out. That and throw a chair through the one way glass they have in the 'confession room' or whatever it is. It would be fun to bludgeon the guy who does the big brother voice with his own microphone.

Additionally, I think that perhaps Big Brother should be kept BUT with the following changes:

1) Every 4 hours wolverines are released into the house and surrounding outside area. House mates are allowed to defend themselves with anything BUT they are not permitted to jump into the pool.

2) The house itself is booby trapped with a variety of fiendish and elaborate death instruments. It won't be uncommon to witness a house mate randomly sprayed in the face with sulfuric acid I'll put it that way.

3) The song 'Call on Me' will be played over and over on a continuous loop the entire time.

4) Peter Costello will enter the house and give talks on the Tax Cuts and Child Benefits Scheme which has been recently implemented. House mates are to remain in their chairs (tied up) until Mr Costello finishes his 6 hour long Steering Speech on the above factors (while encouraging the housemates to have rampant unprotected sex the whole time they are in the house as The Liberal party states, 'The Children are our Future'.

5) At 5:00am every morning, housemates are required to awaken and recite "I am a commercialist sellout being used as a tool by Channel 10" until 9:00am comes.

If anyone else can think of any then ideas are welcome.

I think the first thing that we all need to remember is that Big Brother is TV Show and the major ability with this is that your TV has an off switch. So my first comment is to anybody winging about the content - TURN IT OFF!!!! Not a hard option if you don't like what your watching.

Secondly, Big Brother itself as a concept was a fantastic idea for reality TV. The ideology of a dozen people 'locked together' in a controlled environment to see how the react to certain situations, itself provided an interesting viewing. It wasn't until about the 3rd season here in Australia where there was a little more conflict than there had been in the previous 2 seasons, the Big Brother producers here in Australia were beginning to realise that the conflict being created in the show was picking up extra viewers.

My thoughts are that Big Brother perhaps should have stopped the show there and quit while they were ahead. Unfortunatley the lure of more fights and arguments was too great for them. To a point where this years show is about the fights and arguments. Extremely far away from what the original concept was about.

If anybody has ever read the book '1984' by George Orwell, you would understand.

Last years series was given extra spotlight publicity because of the actions of 2 people in a bath in the 'Rewards Room'. I find it ironic that this vision was aired late at night on the 'Adult's Only' show, where a rating is applied to the broadcast indicating that this vision on the show was not suitable for children under the age of 15 as it showed nudity, sexual reference and language, yet people stilled continued to watch it theen complain.

BTW - There was no sex, it was 2 people in bath nude.

There was also the incident involving on housemate waving his appendage towards the face of another housemate. I agree that this incident was not the best behaviour, but again, this footage was only ever broadcast on the 'Adult's Only' broadcast.

This year, the controversy now has focused around the 2 housemates who found themselves evicted over an incident involving a 3rd housemate. If you watched last nights 'Eviction' show, you heard majority of the detail of what happened. Yes, it was wrong, yes it was inappropriate however there was no footage of the incident aired.

I huess at the end of the day, Big Brother is broadcast at 7pm every night of the week. It's timeslot rival is a Game Show called 'Temptation', or 'Home and Away'.

Please show me what you see in Big Brother that isn't already broadcast on Home and Away or Neighbours.

Both of these Soapies aimed at thee Teenage demographic, prtray Sex, underage marriage, murder, assault, blackmail, theft, underage drinking, wagging school and many other events which should not be shown or portayed to kids.

I have never seen the Government trying to ban these shows.

Like I said at the start of this post, if you don't like something, don't watch it.

My biggest gripe is that I can't stand being told by people that I shouldn't be watching a show like this when there is no call fo concern over shows with similar content. And whats worse is the people making these calls are people that do not watch the show.

So I say this, if you don't like it, don't watch it. If you do, then watch away.

So flame on, cause I am a Big Brother fan.......

HMmm interesting Azza, but as for as the bits on social experimentation goes, does anyone remember a show called house from hell? Amanda Keller and Andrew Denton were the hosts i think, now that didn't hade a big brother figure egging on the sexual innuendos and the show (whilst good) didn't make a comeback.

At the end of the day, its the sex sells business.

BTW Ben Elton wrote a great book on this big brother thing in the early 90's.

Oh no I understand I can turn it off Azza. The thing is though the thought that one channel is rendered 'unwatchable' every night just gets to me. I mean, channel 10 could have something better on that I can watch (like F1/V8's/D1 championships every night lmao).

HOWEVER I would like big brother to stay, provided the above changes come into place. It would be far fun to watch.

Big brother is like locking a bunch of hormones in a jar and waiting to see how long they last before they explode.

That is probably the best definition of this show I've read so far lol.

I am not normally one to participate in such a thread, but the last few days my media exposure has been bombarded with this "incident".

Azza, top post mate, its a change to see some maturity around here, you said it all.

F1's boring! yea the cars look cool and sound cool in F1 but i cant stand watching it for more than a lap. f1 is only interesting when i watch the highlights on the news but i cant sit there for hours watching cars doing laps.

keep big brother on yay!

as for that sexual act...

i highly doubt in a million years you would ever see ashley turkeyslappin camilla in the face at 7pm weeknights dont ya think!?!? besides it occured like 4am on saturday morning and was only viewable online - it never aired on tv, and ashley and john are kicked out of the game, so why are family first and mr beazley complaining?! if channel 10 did go and air it in the face of those who protested against it, then i would probebly agree with the complaintz! but i believe channel 10 and the production company behind BB06 did the right thing.

to keep the kids from watching, move the regular 7pm show to 11-11.30pm which is after the late night news, then go straight into Big Brother Uplate, where adults can listen to all the swearing and bad behaviour they please.

keep the show on for discerning adults only.

that way, if any kids stay up late watching ANY big brother programz, you can put that down to bad parenting! HA! kids shouldnt be up that late anyhow!

but yea if you dont like it, change the channel!

Is the behavior on the footy show any better?

I think they could improve the program by giving them things to do. This years BB is very negative. Not money to Charities, not really any guest appearances. The sex side is emphisised way too much and any deep discussions are not put on TV. kids are going to watch something so maybe give some improvemtnents to get postitives out of the show.

I agree we need more F1 ! :P

Just a reminder Channel 9 is p00 as state of origin gets played here at 2am in the morining this time !

That because u dont understand the sport! Unlike other motorsports where they just go around the track with minimum technology, F1 involves high-tech strategies like fuelloads, tyres, pitstops, turn engine revs up or down, change aeros during the race... and so on... not to mention the best drivers and best cars going head to head at different countries every race.

I thought the turkeyslap was quite funny... The reality is that young guys do this sort of stuff all the time, if you're not aware of that then you lead a fairly sheltered life. I'm suprised she didn't turn and suck it :P

She knew they were going to do "something", even commented about it before she laid down...

F1 bores me, basically the team with most money wins...

Production car racing, GTP, road rally's that is interesting racing, when the cars are kept close to their showroom versions.

Lets face it- All reality TV sucks, bring on the cartoons :P

Thats not true. Renualt, last yrs champ and current pts leader spends considerably less than the "big spenders". McLaren prob spends the most and havent won a race this yr. F1 is known for its leading technology, and all that R&D aint cheap. ;)

SNAP lol

Actually, this could be just looked at from a different way. I guess it is fairly harmless. I just hate the show.

In one episode of South Park, Cartman was constantly being teased by an older kid at school. Cartman lured this kids parents into a trap where they were killed, then stole their bodies and ground them up and made them into Chilli Con Carne.

The kid ended up eating his own parents in a Chilli cook off that Cartman hosted.

If that's not farked...I don't know what is lmao.

You cant compare F1 to Big Bro.......

Yes I agree. Seeing dudes on the brink of blacking out going around corners is sick. They're amazing to watch (especially Toyota and Honda :P)
