Are you a member of NRMA, RACV, RACQ or similar? They should be able to sort you out in a matter of minutes mate.

Do you have a spare key somewhere? I was given 3 when I bought the stroller.

You can join today on the phone and get them to come out, but they will charge you an extra premium.

Locksmith will charge you $140+ to get into your car, they use this pump and wedge system where they pump the door open a little then put a wedge and insert the wedge deeper until they can get a metal thing thats a bit thicker than a coat hanger to open the door.

Ive seen this done, i wasnt the one that locked my keys in though

FUKFUKFUK!!! i usually dont lock my car when its in the garage....

do you know anyone who aworks in a car yard?

i used to work in car sales and it would happen all the time with new apprentices. some yards have the unlocking kits that look like long thin aluminium strips that wedge between the door and window that can unclick the door handle mechanism.

last time happened in another older car i had, it was far alot cheaper to break the boot lock and replace it rather than smash a window.

Umm if it's in your garage what are you worried about? Is the car safe where it is? If so just wait until you find your spare - You should have two of them.

i got mine... without any spare key...

ANYWAY.. all done by paying $170...

thats including an extra key.. without the keyless entry (lock/unlock) crap...

that guy told me this.. dont know if its true or not... (i hope its true!!! )

he said... if i copied the original key... i would not able to start up the car.. (ones which only have the metal)

he said the one he gave me has a "tiny computer chip" (with a little bit of plastic) which unlocks the immobiliser.......

IS THAT TRUE??? i remembered last time when i was in BROADWAY shopping center.. the locksmith had an ad... saying they can copy the toyota key for $100.. and thats including the keyless entry button...

he said.. ITS IMPOSSIBLE... coz toyota never released the code...

but then he said... PEOPLE CAN CLONE IT THO... <<<<< and thats when i started to think hes lying...

ANYWAY... luckily i didnt LOOSE the key.. or else.. TOYOTA will charge me like $2500 (from his word, and other ATOC members)

but this guy can do it for $1500....... but i thought toyota never release the codes... <<<< LIAR!!!!!!!!!!

:lol::lol::lol:

but its all good.. i have a spare finally...

just incase this happens to anyone else that doesn't have there car in the garage (meaning desperate)''do not smash a side window!'' kick the windscreen in side windows are double the price at least of a new windscreen.

you can program a blank transponder key if you have the master key. Toyota have the procedure for this. The couple of grand price is if you loose all the keys including the master. An alterate option is to send the ECU to a specialist who can recode it to a new master key for about $500.
