  1. The reverse beep is a standard feature for all Sportivos because the six speed puts the reveres next to first gear. Everyone that's ever been in my car always laughs at it. Unfortunately the beep can only be heard from the inside of the car so it doesn't serve as a warning to other while reversing. As for disabling it, do a search. This topic has definitely been covered before. Someone managed to disable it by disconnecting the speaker if I'm not mistaken.
  2. Hey guys. what are your thoughts on NSW's recent war "drag racing" and "hoons"? I think the current approach is a joke. The toughening of road laws has not stoped young drivers killing themselves and has just made it stupidly difficult for everyone else to get their license. The recent NSW government is adopting a "over protective parent" persona relating to this issue. The recent media coverage borders on unprofessional, labeling every motor accident as a "drag racing" incident. The majority of the time it's reckless under-educated bogans flogging their VK comodores around thinking they own V8 supercars - They're ox-carts with big engines! Stop killing yourselves and ruining it for everyone else! And don't even get me started on w@nkers and their "rexies" or fake GTR's. The media has no idea what they're talking about. This sort of ***** just doesn't happen in organised street meets. I don't condone rekless driving but i expect the media to get it right and not paint a foney picture. Sorry for the rant but i am fed up with all this "War or hoons" malarky in the paper. It's diminishing popular car culture and ruining the modified car scene. It's come to the point where, if a car even looks slightly modified, they are followed by the cops.
  3. I can understand where you're coming from dude. I actually know a cop and the attitude that cops have towards middle eastern ppl is pretty appauling. I think the problem comes from labelling. If people can remember about 10years ago when there was a problem with crime amongst the asian community, the media started blowing things out of proportion. headlines started talking about Asians gangs and all of a sudden, if you where asian and looked tuff you had instant "street cred", even if you've never even hurt a fly. I was at high school at the time and all of a sudden all these asian kids started pretending they where in a "gang" and acting like they deserved respect. It's classic human nature. We have a pack instinct that drives us to belong. If all of a sudden you're being belittled because you're middle eastern, then you'll compensate by sticking to groups to shield yourself from that.
  4. I'm disgusted. There's a sick feeling in my stomach from seeing that. where were you parked? that goes to show the imobilizer doesn't do squat!
  5. High lift cams come on after 6k rpm not 4k. If you still have your stock airbox, check that your VSV is connected and that all the vacuum hoses coming to and from are connected and not brocken. The VSV is the "sensor" looking thing mounted to the front of the air box. If I'm not mistaken, it controls the flap at the underside of the stock airbox to allow extra air in under lift. if it doesn't open, your engine could be "choking" during lift.
  6. the gear ratios are adapted to suit the engine charactertics. Without know the gear ratios that you're talking about, I really can't comment too much but perhaps the 6th gear is to put the engine in it's torque band for highway driving.
  7. You have a fog light indicator? was that a new feature in the facelift models?
  8. don't worry Mish. Just have this playing in a continuous loop on a big screen TV behind the counter to ward off any would-be theives. hahahahaha
  9. hahaha. I have no sympathy for the guy. The Knob got Wing Chun'd hahahaha
  10. when I click on your link, i get some error messaging. something about not having permissions. can one of the Mods check this out?
  11. Here's mine Engine bay with some bling Overview of the install EGR valve and mount VSV removed and grommet capped Braket cut and mounted TRD Pod intalled from below and rubber insulation placed between chassis and tube The mount point that is not used
  12. There seems to be some confusion in other threads about the EGR valve and how it should be mounted so I thought i'd clarify. 1. The charcoal canister 2. EGR valve (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) 3. Vacuum line that should be capped (not part of the EGR system). you will need to buy this cap as it's not provided in the kit. (Go to your local Autobarn and ask for 6.5mm vacuum caps) 4. The bracket used to mount the EGR valve (provided with the TRD CAI kit) 5. The bolt point (use silver bolt provided). The bottom bolt point is the bolt point for the charcoal canister bracket. You must undo the bolt and sandwich the TRD bracket between. 7. The EGR valve off the braket 8. Assemble the bracket according to the manual. You must bend the longer part so that is clears the the cable conduit behind (not labeled). This is how the grommet should look after you remove the VSV. use the cap provided in the kit. It's OK to leave it hanging. Just make sure it doesn't snag on the throttle butterfly. I bought a silicone intake hose and wrapped it around the part of the CAI that rubs against the chassis.

  22. Always unhook your battery when doing any electrical work. It's like working on your house wiring while the electricity is still on. you blew one of the fuses. just pull one out at a time to see which one is blown.
  23. I'm not sure about the scrubbing but the speeding will be out by another +3~4% from your 40 profile. your current setup already puts you out by around +2%. At the end of the day it doesn't make any diff as our speedos are already out anyway.
  24. Hi guys. I'm on the sydney list. Any ideas on who will be taking delivery. I live really close to the villawood meet point so I'm willing to take delivery if everyone is cool with that. Otherwise, if someone is more central, i'm cool with that too.
