  1. You need to enter the security code on your headunit and follow the guide in the FAQ for the windows. hold the window down button for 5seconds after window has gone down completely. Then do the same thing for the window-up. voila! auto up/down works again.
  2. If you need to ask that, the Prius is definitely not the car for you. LOL

    Hi!

unlike the DC2R, the celica SX/ZR is not a track focused car (neither is the DC5R aka type S, aka Fake type R).....Toyota!! are you listening?!?
  4. if you're talking about the 03+ Rolla, then, nope. it's just a wire that runs straight to the HU. I'd say to get your HU checked out.
  5. nice find. The vehicle application section says it will fit but the red text says "Please beware that exedy clutch kit part number KTY18 will NOT fit on 2000-05 Celica GT/GT-S model"... I say message the seller and ask for the kit part number. Then call up an excedy delear in Aus and ask for the part number for the sportivo, if they match....bingo!
  6. brakes all sorted ..... now off to get them engineered ..... and correct regarding the certificate and insurance ...... i dont think ill have any issues getting these engineered. more pics here http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...st&p=195118 Nice work dude.
  7. don't forget the spring rate has a lot to do with it too..
  8. Unless it was a wagon, EAs had coil-sprung rear ends. It was still a live axle, but without the cart springs Give this man a beer!
  9. Nope, if it was a cheaper car I wouldn't have a problem. All I'll say right now is they are known for engine mount failures......... Forest gump voice/ "And that's all I have to say about that" /end forest gump voice You're not the Mazda 3 MPS guy are you?
  10. it's weird that this topic came up... I just found out a couple of hours ago that one of my friends is in hospital from a brain aneurysm. He's just turned 30 and has a 2year old daughter. the doctors say smoking was a factor. He just complained of headaches and collapsed.. =( he's stable but it's too early to tell. Anyway, sorry to get off topic.
  11. hahaha. funny story. I've had some friends recently quit too. do you have a group of friends that don't smoke. try calling them out along with your other mates. For my friends, the urge came when they saw someone else go for a smok'o. if you have other ppl to keep you occupied, you won't think about cigi's as much. oh yeah, ... stay on the patches. hehehehe
  12. ooh. forgot to ask. how long ago did you balance it. Sometimes the balancing weights fall off and that can throw the wheel of balance again.
  13. it's like trying to read a really long SMS text message...my brain hurts. hahaha
  14. I doubt it, the Holden v6 is rubbish :P no one's arguing with you there. LOL. don't even get me started on the EA falcons (I used to own one) with their "live axel", leaf spring rear end, and half-a$$ attempt at fuel injection where the "ECU" would lose it's programming everytime you changed the battery. yuck! i would say it was a boat but that would be an insult to boats. hahaha
  15. just recharge or get a new battery. problem solved :) i guess its a safety thing that it lets you know when your on low battery. The car runs off electricity from the alternator. There is no safety issue with a flat battery (unless you're late picking up your girlfriend because you car won't start from a flat bat - that would be serious threat to your saftey/wellbeing LOL) =)
  16. this is just a guess but would it have something to do with the stereo? maybe having the battery disconnected for so long has put the stock HU into "Sh!t, i've been stolen" mode and now it wants you to enter a code. does the head unit still work?
  17. in that case you may want to do a little more research. here's a start: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_S_engine You have the 5S-FE engine. You said it's bored out to 2.4ltr. who did the work? where you the owner when this was done? You could also join this forum: http://www.toyotacelicaonline.com/ they are celica specific and collectively have alot more knowledge on all things celica than this forum. the only downside is the members are mostly based in Canada. just have a quick scour of the threads and you'll most likely find out what you need to know.
  18. yep. I've had the same experience. You should let primer sit for the at least 24hours. use fine grit sand paper (wet dry) to lightly sand prior to painting over the prime surface. your finish will only be as good as your prime coat so it's about prep-work and patiences. what everyone else said pretty much sums up my experiences.
  19. You are aware that Toyota lied with those figures. Mid to low 15s for the 1/4 mile is possible stock which translates to, at worst, high 7's in the 0-100 run. Holden could have lied about their figures too. but then again, the VS is an older car i.e not putting out as many ponnies. anyway, these car comparison topics always end in frustration/arguments/duels at noon...etc :P .
  20. Midas in Fairfield on the Horsely drive are good, they mainly do Bendix pads which are decent if you're not a track person. Otherwise, you could try getting some EBC performance pads (I'm going to to try EBC Redstuff next)
  21. It's most likely the wear indicators on your brake pads. time to change them. I've had the same thing before. the noise doesn't always sound consistent with brake wear but you'll find it's most probably the pads. Metal expands and contracts so you won't always be able to reproduce the noise. it sounds worse with a passenger as the car is slightly heavier and the brakes have to work harder. replace your pads before your "groove" your rotors.
  22. sorry to hear that dude. I doubt the supplier would deliberately not send it as they've supplied the club for the last three consecutive group buys so far. Try to contact the supplier again and explain the situation, they should help you investigate on their end (since we've gotten so many units from them in the last couple of months, i'm sure they'll be willing to help)
  23. you have a carb on the engine ?????? you want tvis ???????? lol at tvis... on bigport 4age engines people usually remove it when doing the engine up. i think smallport 4age proves there is no need for TVIS at all. best option is.... big camshafts (and valve mods to suit oviously) and an ecu to run the new camshafts. run a really thin headgasket. Now i'm confused. I thought the 5th gen ST184 celicas ran either a 5S-FE or a 3S-GE engine. the 4a-ge was in the corolla of the same era right?
  24. The Silver for pre and post facelift are different. the facelift model used a darker silver than the pre-facelift models. The computer may only have the formula for the later "silver" colour.
