  1. Also, check the oil levels. you may be low on oil. other than that....definitely take it to a dealer. There could be a more serious underlaying cause so don't be lazy! =)
  2. Dude! you rock! i got lazy and didn't even take pics when i put mine in. hehe
  3. oh btw, does it happen when the engine is cold or only when it's warm?
  4. you're such a ***** stirer LOL no wonder you and the silver beast are divorsed. well, the trade off is that you can now park where ever you want with the HIGH LUX. hehe
  5. going by that logic, then it must be one of the sensors that are fouled. Just take it into a dealer so they can read the error codes. they should be able to tell you pretty easily which sensor is stuffed.
  6. Fark! everytime someone posts a dyno sheet it ends in an argument. We all drive mostly the same car for ***'s sake! why is it so hard to believe another's power/torque figures. Unless your forum name starts with "Buri" i doubt anyone has anything to gain by posting porky pies - so let's chilax and get along
  7. I signed up to say hi. LOL. it's not all of them are are whining. I sort of know a couple of the guys on there so they're not all that bad =)
  8. that's some nice driving there, Mickey. You kept the car nice and stable on that dirty track surface.
  9. it's funny how everyone has been under the bonnet for oil catch cans, intakes, strut brace...etc we've all worked around the reservoir a million times but never noticed there was only one on the brake master and a feed line that goes to the clutch master.
  10. No one would randomly target a corolla ... most people i have seen with sportivo's have badges removed or 1zz have sportivo kit might even not be a genuine kit . why risk getting caught for that . unfortunatly you were proberly stalked for an order <yes dodgy panel beaters do put out orders i had one offer me a HSV bumper for my holden at to replace as factory one already painted told me a customer left it behind (YEAH!) and he said he didn't need to tell insurance company> I did take the car somewhere else .....( some use insurance company to make money unfortunatly) they would of seen same car same area same times ....(drive round the casino in melbourne i could tell you what level some cars are on every night and they proberly arn't even staff) People have routines it takes time to remove sideskirts if they rushing they could damage them ... they would of know how long they had .. would of been quicker to break glass and get your stereo out ... hope the insurance pays you ... they are always looking for a way out This is why i think we should have a stolen parts/car Post I would get a quote from Toyota for painted and fitted genuine and send insurance the quote .. not a panel beater quote The corolla has been one of the top selling cars for the past 5 years. That means there are heaps of them on the road, it also means that heaps of them get into accidents. it is therefore easy for panel shops to do the dodgy thing and get parts from stolen vehicles such as airbag steering wheels, body kits, and other larger ticket items, then charge the insurace company full price and pocket the difference. Don't say it doesn't happen because it's been happening for decades. I too have heard stories like these. It's bad enough that you have to deal with those blood sucking insurance companies, then you have to be weary of dodgy repairers....makes me sick.
  11. as Mr T would say: "Quit your jibba jabba!" just adjust the clutch and problem solved. no need to argue. Also, remember to bleed your clutch (from the slave cylinder) before you adjust so you have a good baseline for the clutch travel, friction point and freeplay. the clutch on the Sportivo seems to share the same resevoir as the brakes so if your brakes fluid is old and your brakes feel spongy, then your clutch will be too (hence the clutch drag, 1st-2nd, worn synchros, and tears) so get it fixed ASAP.
  12. didn't you take out the battery to remove the stock airbox? coz if you had the battery out for more than a few mins, it would have reset it. Just drive it the car around for a little while to see if the ECU adjusts.
  13. hey dude. welcome! got any pics of your ride?
  14. Hmmm. it seems like some of the JDMST guys weren't too happy about other "randoms" turning up (about 500 of us lol). talk about anti-social. http://forum.jdmstyletuning.com/showthread...6188&page=4
  15. the entire P6 carpark was at capacity. I've never seen that many guys drool over just 3 girls before. it was luck looking at a pack of hungry dogs. hahaha
  16. you'll need to file a police report and get an incident number before you can claim.
  17. it looks like a mini camry. and with the way the Camry looks now, that's a good thing. :P
  18. that is CLEAN, Dave! I love it
  19. Thanks - someone else has also suggest the clutch. I put the car in gear and with the clutch down I started the car, the car didn't lurch forward. I have been told I may have an internal leak in the master or slave cylinder, or an external leak in the line..Does anyone know where are these located? Thanks for any advice. The clutch master cylinder is mounted to the firewall directly opposite the clutch pedal. the slave is mounted to your transmission. you can peel back the boot to see if there is clutch fluid inside. if there is, then there's a leak. You can also inspect the line by following it from ther cylinder all the way to the slave. hope this helps. P.S. Just type "clutch slave cylinder" in google images and you'll see what it should look like
  20. I would love to see the increase/decrease in alledged drag racing over the last 5-10years. If, indeed, it has decrease, remained the same or increased by an amount improportionate to the growth in population/increase in cars on the road, then i say this would be another example of irresponsible reporting and outright ballony by the authorities. the article would have you believe there has been a sudden outbreak of drag racing incidents. All these anti-speeding campaigns that target only P platers and "Hoons" are basically equivalent to trying to solve a water shortage crisis by prohibiting 16-21year olds from eating vegetables - it's indirectly related and has no bearing on a long-term solution.
  21. what springs do you have and does the noise only happen when hitting big bumps? If they may have sagged then they may not be tight in the strut/shock body. when you hit a bump and the shock extends, the spring could be "floating" free and clanking when the shock compresses and the spring comes in contact with the spring seats again. It could also be the plastic apron that drapes over the shock piston has brocken and is hitting the spring. It may also be unrelated to the spring. ooops, forgot to mention that it could also be a loose nut on the top of the rear shock. you can access this by removing the boot trim. the nut sits on a rubber grommet and could have come loose over time.
  22. I think this has been covered before. anyway, the noise is coming from the ball pillow mount. they have to be tight and lubricated pretty well. for those who don't know what it is, it's the large center bolt on top of the strut tower. the stock one is 19mm and you may need a deep socket to get to it. I'm not sure about the size of the aftermarket ones though. the pain with tightening them is that when they get to a certain tightness, you just end up turning the piston of the strut. you need some way to hold the strut piston while turning the bolt to tighten it.
