  1. Oh, i forgot to mention. Non-Turbo car universal cannon mufflers originated when some douchbag decided it would be a cool idea to build a motorcycle exhaust for a car. hehehe
  2. My friend just picked up a Evo 8 for around the mid $40k mark. It's mean looking car =) turbo lag is non existant but the gear revs out too quickly, you need to change gears every 2.5seconds hehe. I could get into serious trouble with one of those. after the Evo8, I suddently felt the urge to go for a spurt on my bike. hehe
  3. lol I hear R36's are easier to fit into... Ill let you know when mine arrives yep im 6"2 and couldn't use the clutch because my knee was hitting the steering wheel...im not being picky, I physically couldn't drive the car... It's times like these i thank my Asian ancestry for making me 5'7". haahah
  4. Those rice cans sound horrible IMO. How many times have you seen/heard a civic/corolla with one of those? everytime they accelerate away, the noise doesn't seem to correspond to how slow they are accelerating away - you hear this loud noise thinking that a car just screamed by but in actual fact, my mum in her Rav4 just past it. loud fart cannons just screams "I have no class and am too poor to afford a real exhaust setup"
  5. just did a quick google search: http://en.allexperts.com/q/Mazda-Repair-82...gear-manual.htm looks to be a synchro problem.
  6. Well said. It's all about target market relevance. But the R35 is not exactly a high volume production car so there will always be enthusiasts out there that want one. Mind you, the low volume vs. the money spent on R&D is what's driving the price of this car so high. ($80K AUD over in Japan! are you kidding? I want to move to Japan )
  7. Great response .. you should work at a tyre store.... will the new wheels offset damage anything like wheels bearings?? Long term, it will place added stress or will the wheels rub with a full load? You'll have to check the clearance of the wheels and tyres will it change the handling of the car? Steering will be sharper, ride will be harder, handling dependant a lot on your tyres, if the wheels + tyres are heavier your braking distance will increase slightly and fuel economy will get worse slightly at the end of the day he just wants to know if the rim sizes he stated will fit nicely on his car. Actually, his question was: so your reply of: is kind of inadequate :)
  8. Ummmm....If your friend installed his own sim card then why would the call charges go to Toyota?. and how did he install the keypad...what interface did he use?
  9. I've never heard the term before but I assume it's when the car has a tendency to follow grooves in the road. It happens on your standard rims but if the offset puts the wheels centre of contact further out from the steering knuckles pivot point, the grooves in the road have more of an affect. You know it's doing this when you feel the steering wheel pull to follow the grooves in the road. btw, the grooves i talk of are those left when heavy truck traffic wears down a groove along the road. Correct me if I'm wrong though, S.B
  10. SB, could it be the rear being lower than the front that's causing this? I've got the same setup. my wheel is just on the gaurd whereas the front has a 20mm gap between the guard and tyre. the relative caster angle to the bump would be changed. Would this be causing the issue?
  11. how much did you lower the car by? lowering the car to a point where the control arm, tie rod angles are not optimum increases the effect of bump steer. shocks will not cause your steering to track road surfaces.
  12. Toyota would have been better off with a TRD Rav4 IMO. It would cater for a bigger market. Imagine a supercharged AWD rav. :D
  13. there's a spring? most power steering resovior caps are just a simple plastic cap that twists on right? anyway....Duct tape FTMFW
  14. my 4 tyres dun any trace of side wear... its been 35k now... I had try with another avanza (new batch 1.3 MT), same road, same time, his avanza working well... my car is random pulling, sometimes to left sometimes to right and depand on its mood. Drive fast or slow same effect... but hot weather more obvious. i still can send back to 3s sc but they wanna charge me and if problem again still hv to send back gain.... where i got so much time?? have you checked your brake pads to see if they are evenly worn. you might have a coroded brake slide that is causing the pads to bind. this can cause the car to pull left or right depending on which pad is stuck. check it out. also, get the dealer to check your bearings in the ball pillow mount (top of the front strut). if the bearing is damaged or not installed properly from the factory this can cause castor changes as you're driving which also changes your alignment.
  15. i doubt you'll be able to buy a new box for that from Toyota. considering they want $900 for just the front lip of the sportivo. you'll most likely pick up a second hand box which means there will already be wear on it. There's nothing wrong with your box besides some worn parts. Just fix it, at least then you know you'll have a good box. just out of curiousity, how do you drive? do you downshift alot to slow the car down or do you use the brakes? do you drive relatively spiritedly? Just wondering why your synchros are gone after only 30,000km
  16. downshifting hard into second to take corners will farq them up pretty quick too.
  17. FFS the guys car just got stolen, give this thread the respect it deserves. anyway, I'll keep an eye out for the car. It's a unique enough ride to recognise - colour, wing mirrors, rims, front bar. in reality some of the stuff has probabaly already been stripped off it but i'll definitely contact you if i see it.
  18. if it happens every time then it's most likely the 3rd-2nd gear synchros. to replace you'll need to take the gearbox out. Tell the mech to be carefull because 6th gear breaks when trying to remove aparently.
  19. Hi dude. The wheel bearing is not hard to replace. You'll need a breaker bar or hight setting torque wrench with a good quality socket that can remove the hub nut (can't remember the size from the top of my head but it's HUGE). also get yourself a tub or wheel bearing grease. You'll need to take the whole knuckle out to relace the bearings. That means removing the brake calipers, brake rotors, undoing the hub nut that holds the knuckle onto the drive shaft spleen, undoing the steering tie-rod, undoing the 3 bolts under the control arm where the ball joint is, undoing the strut from the knuckle. basically the entire knuckle has to come out. The bearing is pressed onto the hub shaft at one side (from memory) so removing that will be the hard part. Good luck dude.

I think that's why I love Buddhism so much. So laid back, and the philosophies associated with it just make sense. Yes some people don't know the meaning to the word no..but I have to say that I'm a christian and if someone tell me no..then i won't say anything further.. repect each person's personal choice.. but in regarding to buddhism, what about it, is it that you like....my parents are buddhist and I find its philosphies..illogical....so i'm quite curious which philosophies in particular that makes sense to you..is it the reincarnation cycle...or is it something else?? No, it's the bit about being ressurected in three days....ooopss...wrong book. my bad. just playing dude.
  21. hey dude! I only quickly read through your post but the main problems i can spot are to do with the car pulling ot one side and vibrations from the front wheel when you drive about 80km/h - it sounds to me like you have a serioulsy bad Tyre, that's all. there may be no problem with the car. Have you already gotten your tyres balanced? also, in Australia (we drive on the left), all cars are designed to pull left slighly when you hold the steering wheel straight. This effect increased when the road is cambered (leaning/curved to the left). are you sure this is not the case with your car? Have you taken another car of the same model for a test drive. see if that happens with then new car too. this may be not the case but alot of the time new car owners tend to be overly sensitive with any percieved problems with the car. To everyone else it's just a matter of getting it fixed but the fact that there is a small problem in the first place added to the inconvenience of actually taking it back frustrates the customer. This usually the root of most complaints and escalations.
  22. no offence regarding your current rims but the Lenso looks a million times better. The spoke goes right to the rim so the wheel looks bigger.
  23. I think it's better the Chinese stick to making clothes. I trust them with my cotton T-shirts, just not my cars. haahaha

Everyone needs faith; wheather it be in the catholic/Christian G.O.D or any other type of higher power. I do agree that it makes people better aslong as there is a balance between life and religion. What i find most annoying is the born-again-Christians (speaking only from my experiences). The ones i know preach to me like it's this whole new universe that everyone is missing out on. I get patronized to they point where they're basically implying that i'm so dumb if i can't see the truth. Geez. Christianity has been around for thousands of years - it's nothing new. I know many whom are born into the Christian faith, some of which attend church and are generally good people but they don't preach to me. I choose not to follow the Christian faith by choice - it doesn't mean i'll go to hell if i follow Bhudda's teaching, right?!? so quit it with the creapy brain washing. sometimes when I talk to them it's like talking to a brainwashed person, they relate everything back to what they're taught on Sundays and they're not really even thinking about what you're saying and how to respond - just reciting a bunch of pre-prepared statements....surely you can't associate with anyone on this level for too long, you'll have no friends left?!?
