I Second that, Bill. I have asked the service guys at two seperate dealerships about the reverse brake squeal and they first tried to deny it and then tried to tell me that it happens on all cars. I am sorry, but a guy that works at my dads factory also has a sportivo and it does not squeal at all. then they recommended i rotate the tyres as a "remedy" to the brake squeal. I did not see how it would solve it but i agreed anyway and found out i was charge for the rotation.

the synchros will make it difficult for you to shift into 1st if there is any movement in the car at all. if you are still rolling just use 2nd. if you must shift 3rd to 2nd, try rev matching. shift into neutral, let out he clutch, rev the engine up to the natural rev for 2nd in that particular speed, then shift straight into 2nd. takes some practice to do quickly but you will find if you do it right, it will shift straight into 2nd without any resistance at all. and it will save your synchros down the track. also, i don't see how the floor mats would affect your shifts hope this helps

My 6 stacker head unit has gone bonkers. the eject and load mechanism seems to be stuck. I started the car the other day and tried to eject a disc. nothing happened and and stayed on the eject screen for ages. then and Error came on the screen. now i can't eject, load new discs. i can't even play any discs already in there. i can only play radio and tape. Arghh! not happy <_< i've booked it in for service but we'll see how it goes.

I originally didn't have the problem or never noticed the problem until our last cruise where my stereo was off and i was in lift. it's a high frequency rattle. almost a buzzing. still faint but it's getting louder.

hehehe. but seriously thought guys. pranks will get you nowhere. the aim of all of this is to get the car fixed. i say call the police station again saying that there is sufficient evidenc (your paint on their car and vice-versa) and see what they say. if the police refuse to take it further then go to small claims court. You don't want to do anything to encriminate yourself (think spelt it right) :D

the 10k service curse strikes again! sorry to hear about the bad luck dude. it's not right. i hate it when people are like that. the thing is that they probably don't have insurance, that's why they are denying. i don't think being nice about all this is going to help. it's your property. they hit it! don't be scared man. the most they can do is throw a few punches. then you have grounds for assult charges. hey dude. i'm in sydney and recently i flew down to melbourne for a day on business (boss wouldn't let me stay longer <_< ) i was on a highway (somwhere ) and saw a black sportivo which i think is the one you are talking about. i didn't get a chance to look at the number plate and my boss was driving so i couldn't follow.

i'm starting to get the rattles now. just after my 10,000km service. and last night (14degrees) i had problems shifting from 1st to 2nd :( it's never happened before. it was like the gear wanted to stick in 1st and it was hard to pull it out of 1st.

Hi Hames I got mine done and it cost me $230. i don't see how they can justify the cost. i had an old celica and always serviced it myself every 5000km. the oil was $20, filter - $15, airfilter, $15-20, degreaser - $2, time taken - 1 hour.
