  1. Bloody spewing that I couldn't get out tonight. Hope the weather clears up in time for the drags next week
  2. My day off on the 12th has just become a bloody 8 to 4pm shift in the city. What time is dinner at hogsbreath?
  3. I heard, through a rather indirect but none the less reliable source just yesterday, that when the air bags deploy the doors in the Aurion do automatically unlock.
  4. negative. And would you really want to wear a helmet that's been whored out to any number of people, most likely including Boostcruisers as well? I'd sooner hire an Ipswich Hooker - certainly would be safer
  5. Mate they look very flash, but I'm wondering now whether you might get some prick of a traffic cop who'll book you for em on account that they're a "white light" at the rear of a car that isn't a reverse light. Despite saying that, I'm already on Ebay looking for a set myself :P
  6. 1 - Andrew357 - Drags and Dinner 2 - DJKOR - Drags and Dinner 3 - Steven - Drags (cheers Mick); For dinner I can train it in to Milton on Thursday for dinner, anyone able to give me a lift to and from the loop ? 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 -
  7. actually the Nokia N97 (and mini) run programs in the background as well - which really used to fustrate me as there was no quick way to return to the main screen AND shut down all the programs too. It had to be done by manually exiting every program running. On the Iphone I have I don't have multitasking, and it really doesn't bother me. Actually it simplifies things greatly and I can still have my music playing whilst using other programs so it's truly "single tasked". And I have yet to find it an inconvenience to not be able to sms someone or view the gps whilst I'm browsing the internet.
  8. I haven't actually driven a 2007/08 Camry, but before I say much else - certainly an 07/08 Camry has got to be more expensive than a Commodore that has the 3.8L V6.. The latest model with that engine was the VY Commodore, from around 2004 I believe it was. Very old now (actually was even old when it was new). I'm going to assume then, that you're actually talking about the 3.6L VE Commodore v6. And I'll only refer to the basic executive (or as they now call it, the OMEGA) with only 180kw on tap. 2nd hand, you're probably going to pay similar dollars for either (assuming basic trim level). What I CAN tell you about the 2008 Commodore is this - it is absolute rubbish. True it's got the power on paper, but it really is a heavy arsed vehicle. It rolls about more than a tanker in a storm (and probably spills just as much oil, joke for all you naturists). The interior build quality is cheap, hard yet flimsy plastics, the seats do a poor job of keeping you in place (which probably isn't helped by the fact you'll be making every effort to get out of the car at the first opportunity). To be honest, I was seriously considering buying an 08 Commodore instead of the Aurion, as an upgrade to my 97 Commodore (bit of a fan of the old land boats). Although this changed the second I actually drove one, AND put it through it's paces around a track as well. Although to be fair, we had one driver at the track who could do amazing things with the Commodore - however this only earnt him the nickname "Skipper". The 08 Camry is very similar to the Aurion, in most area's bar the engine and some slight changes in the interior/exterior. Just from knowing that I'm sure it's a great car, however for the money being asked for them these days you could easily justify spending only a tad bit more and landing an ATX Aurion - With the v6 engine that is actually just as good as the 4 cylinder on fuel, you can have your cake and eat it too.
  9. Bit of work today: - Now have GPS and Stereo (integrated) - New headlights - Front mounted video camera to capture all those fun times - New Side mirrors (slimline type) - And finally, a good wash (no wax) Yep, my mountain bike has improved 100% since this morning. :D
  10. I just looked at my roster and I've got the 11th and 12th off from work, so I'm keen to come along if someone can give me a ride?
  11. Very nice gains - do you have comparisons for torque output as well to see how many gains were had there? Do you think there is much more in it by staying N/A?
  12. I am a little tempted to give the twisties a go. I really want to have a bit of fun in the ol gurl before I deregister her. However it'll depend on the roads as even though my current tyres aren't TOO bad in the dry, they stick to a wet road as well a politician sticks to his promises. Just looking at the whether forecast, and it looks like English weather got lost and arrived here instead. Jolly good.
  13. They are actually doing a pretty good job of limiting themselves, compared to some of the stuff that goes down at meets
  14. I fucking love boost cruising. only because you a SH|T-STIRRER! Lol I'll be out this week. Last meet for a while too. No mountaining though, not on my Teflon tyres.
  15. In the link above it I'll show you on Thursday if you are there. It's really simple. As for the button.... well let's just say I'm working on that. Got the tools and the knowledge to integrate a relay switch, just need to be a man and cut some factory wiring. I guess it's a race between us as to who gets it done first :P
  16. Can't answer without a date due to shift work. However I'll be bike bound by next week so dinner only...
  17. Due to early start on Friday I'll be leaving the loop at 9:30ish. When is the cruise? Going to hang at the loop first before departing a bit later?
  18. What the hell kinda sub box you making?? A 4th order bandpass for an 18" woofer?!
  19. Yeah, and the manual also states that an oil consumption of 1 litre per 1000km is completely normal. Do you really believe the manual now? I wonder if a car going through that much oil could meet emissions standards? That might be a catch 22 on them
  20. I can understand using your own oil - I personally don't see any real world advantages in doing so, however I understand the mentality behind it. As for the 5k late first service, this could very easily see you undone despite the fact it's highly unlikely it is the cause of the oil use - just simply Toyota trying to use any excuse to void a claim, which considering the expense of this claim I imagine they would squirm out however they can. They say in the manual that 5w-30 is fine - hence ANY argument that caused the issue is likely to blow up in their faces. I would actually carrying a photocopy of that around in case any smarmy service manager throws it at you. The best suggestion I would have is have a meeting with your service manager, and be prepared to civilly discuss the matter regardless of what they say. Getting antsy may work with the help, but being fair and reasonable in your claims early on will help you a million fold should the matter even result in a civil claim being made. A meeting will also tie the service manager into a story - if they decide to deny your claim based solely on the oil being used, then they cannot change their reasoning later down the track and as mentioned, the oil theory is easily debunked. If the late initial service comes into play (if it gets brought up at all, make sure they're the ones who do it and not you. Don't admit anything) then you'd probably need to get professional opinions from qualified, experienced engine builders etc in writing that states whether it's likely to have caused your oil burning problem. Bit of an information overload, but give it a go and let us know.
  21. Basically that's correct, however there's a science behind it; weight transfer, suspension setup etc have a lot to do with it. Weight at the back does also assist to a degree in holding the front down as well. Every car is different, which is why people still mix and match suspension components these days in a trial and error method.
  22. I'm sure jockeys do the same thing before a big race lol I'm sure that's more to do with accident prevention than weight saving - kinda a moot point though because IMO all jockeys are just little ****s
