  1. Nah havent installed mine yet, been too busy with work.. and going away next week so might have to wait unless i can squeeze it in monday..
  2. Hey hey, Ive currently got Yoko S-Drive's on my beemer, very happy with them and terrific wear for a performance tire. Looking for some rubber for my new Work rims for the ZRE rolla. Im thinking S-Drive may be a little overkill for it. Checked out A-Drive R1's. Tread pattern isnt as aggressive, wear is supposed to be the same if not a tiny bit better, and they are supposed to be a bit quieter too. Side walls not a speckie either :P The S-Drives look really good (side walls that is) Anyone out there running A-Drive R1's?? anyone care to comment? A-Drive R1 S-Drive Just check sizes available... A-drive R1 only in 225/40/18. S-Drive in 215/40/18
  3. Oh no! FT-86 or Blade?? thats the choice im faced with if this comes true...
  4. Niiice, always had a sweet spot in my heart for the Cressida family ;) You just keeping it stock and lean? any plans for the future?
  5. Would think so, I cant see why not. Or the K&N version listed above.
  6. Jeeebus! get one from Ebay, i just priced one at injenonline.com US$27 and they wanted US$85 just for shipping via UPS (no other shipping method given), Thats just highway robbery!! Over AU$125 for the thing landed!! OMG I know UPS isnt cheap, but there is no way it would cost that much. #X1033 hydroshield is for the ZRE CAI
  7. Ah thanks :) The front look spot on, the rear, well, maybe could go another 5-15mm out, ill see how it looks when the rims arrive, 15mm bolt on spacers for the rear might be the go if they can still fit... I guess i have to wait to see it in the flesh but i think 15mm might be too much..
  8. Thanks Mick, shall see how i go... Might look at getting some extractors made up as no one seems to have any yet... Cant be too difficult for my exhaust guy to work thru. Ive been doing some reading about making headers/extractors this morning. Very interesting. Suggestions seem for a 1800cc, max usable power at 5,500rpm. 38mm primary pipe diameter, 860mm long, collected to a 63.5mm collector. I have found some software that you can input all matter of engine dimensions etc etc to help you build the most effective setup. Im wondering if i should buy the software, think its only around US$50. Ill keep searching and learning till i come up with more info. Advance headers are just up the road from me, ill have a chat to them on monday see what they come up with, looks like they have done Toyota 4's before..
  9. Ah niiice, wonder if ill need spacers on the rear? Quick PS jobbie: Obviously will look different in real life, but gives an idea...
  10. Sorry for the confusion, the NT09's are ET38. 3mm off et35 :) Should fit well, hows the front wheels sit on yours Alex? just flush?
  11. Cost to me landed was AU$290 a pair. They come in black gelcoat, so painting is required (i estimate between 40-70 bucks depending where you go)they come with 3m double sided tape too. I havent priced the postage yet, but i would say registered post to most eastern states would be around the AU$20 or just over. Pm me if interested, ive only got a pair or two.
  12. Thanks, i was just thinking the same thing. The Jap one claims to be able to run easily with stock ECU. Will the throttle control be actuated automatically by the ECU to maintain decent idle or will i then need a aftermarket computer to take car of it? I was under the limited assumption that the ECU would compensate, am i wrong in thinking so? Mick, what did you do to stabilize idle, if anything? Yep, getting hold of another TB to play with is a good idea, just have to find one at a decent price! If anyone knows of any....
  13. Just waiting for some more info. Ill let you know what i find out. Not sure, i havent come across any yet, nor have i seen any installed on any ZRE on minkara. If you see any around please let me know.
  14. Yeah 10kw is a bit high anything around the 5 mark would be good. Just got a quote from the guys in melb already, looking at around AU$220-$330 for the job, and no responsibility regarding the FBW electronics or failure. Ive asked if they machine with the electronics hardware on or off (if it can be removed obviously better).
  15. I should have made this a little more clear i suppose. Im not (nor ever really) after top end power increase. Im more interested in chasing mid range power and micks comments are moreso what i was interested in. The ZRE responded really well to the exhaust mods, showing significant mid range increases in both torque and power, so i though the induction side would be the next obvious step. Now before we get all lift loving, i know the 2ZR-FE ZRE isnt a powerhouse, ive said this before. It does respond well to flow mods its seems so far. Now if all these small mods net me another 15-20kw mid range, then ill be a happy camper. Mick, were the results taken from before/after dyno testing, or guestimate? did you get the work done here mick or just do a TB swap? Thanks Dave and Mole for your comments. As this (and most ZRE) work hasnt been ploughed thru before, i am generally in R&D phase all the time so chasing small increases is a relatively cheap exercise compared to S/Charging etc.. Lets see how the Injen CAI goes. I will do before/after dyno results i think. I have found a place in melb that looks like they do fly-by-wire TB enlargement. Waiting to hear back from them.
  16. Hey hey, Ive been looking at enlarging the stock throttle body on the ZRE and fitting a new over sized butterfly with smooth flowing screws instead of the chunky stock ones. I do have access to one in Japan, but im wondering what the cost would be for machining and butterfly etc if done here, as i think the Jap one requires exchange of the throttle body. I could save a bundle and lots of time if i could get it done here. Im waiting on some more info from the guy in Japan re specs, gains etc. Does anyone know any machinists here (in SA maybe) that could do the work? Would i be looking toward pro engine builders and their contacts to help? Im guessing at maybe 5-10kw increases, would that be on the money?
  17. Hopefully looking at a nov/oct release. These will be very limited release if what i was told is correct, like 3 cars per dealer per quater! I tried to put some money down on one but have to wait for the API first. Should be delish tho!
  18. Im a shocker for not makin up my mind! Also, i knew the eyelids were very hard to get so i got 3 pair, one for me, and 2 other pair for interested parties that may inquire about them once they saw mine B) Dwee if your after any of those black backed smd strips, i can do em for 5 bucks plus postage...
  19. I got AMS ones from Japan, thinner style. Ill see if i can dummy fit them today. Just sat them on there the other day, they looked good, but i think they are more suited to a darker car. AMS eyelids: Got a pair for sale if your interested...
  20. If you want one just get if from Toyota Castle Hill, I think James sent mine out to me for yeah AU$65 or AU$67 express. Thats both the chrome emblem and the base. No drilling required, straight snap/push in.
  21. C-One do one for the ZZE: TRD version i found:
  22. Well, i pulled my bid on the Euroline et45. :( i didnt want to end up with weird offset that would need weird sized spacers. 15mm is normally the smallest bolt on, and im not to keen on slip ons. So, i have missed out on those fine rims, but i am very happy with my NT09's. Nice rims they are... hopefully will be here in a week or so
  23. With the extra width of the rim, it wont be so bad, i understand. But, i can always run spacers to get exact fit. I just couldnt make up my mind! I havent settled on 205's, could go 215 or 225 but yes, i want the stretched look :)
  24. Cheers Dwee, Well i bit the bullet, and couldnt make the choice, so i ended up getting two sets! Work Euroline 18X8 et45 and Work Euroline NT09 18X8 et35. NT09 (et38): Euroline (et45): Nice choice for VIP inspired stylie! Now for the stretch!
  25. Japan I miiiigght have a pair for sale. Maybe. Costly tho. About AU$290
