How can I keep calm/cool while the Aurion stays in filth? This winter Melbournes weather has been cold, cold, and more cold and wet! Just check this out: http://www.bom.gov.au/vic/forecasts/melbourne.shtml Rain rain and more rain. It's been now almost a month since I last cleaned the outside. I'm killing to give it a nice wash and wax with the buffer but this rain sucks heaps. edit: As I type this it is pouring down rain outside now.

Ultra Racing Rear sway bar.
Silver-Aurion replied to Silver-Aurion's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
Don't let that put you off. The rear sway bar will definitely compliment your lowered ride. I'm still loving the less body roll. -
Damn shes hot. I like the bottom grill. At first I was going to say no because it looks out of place but pictures never do justice and I'm sure in real life it really looks good. Seeing pictures like this really gets me to want to start with some cosmetic mods as well.

I thought ugly was a visual thing, not an auditory one :P And I'd hazard a guess that every non-deaf person in Australia above the age of 10 has head a 90s Falcon or Commodore accelerate. Yeah, they sound and look ugly

These cars makes baby jesus cry http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/archive/a/ac/20090509123640!1996-1998_Ford_EL_Falcon_GLi_sedan_05.jpg Have you ever heard these accelerate? The engines have that really ugly sucking air sound.

After reading this thread ages ago I've concentrated on this whine noise and mine certainly has it. It's at all speeds and any engine temperature. It's not a bad sound to be honest. It has the sexy 'electronic' feel to it and not some clunky Holden Ford engine sound.

When I full lock the steering on my Aurion, the steering gets really spongy and it doesn't have that springy sort of feel to it any more. When its on full lock I need to like turn the steering back to normal until it springs back and turns back into centre by itself. Is this an annoying FWD thing?

Ultra Racing Rear sway bar.
Silver-Aurion replied to Silver-Aurion's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
Thanks man. I hope the new rear sway bar goes all smoothly. It could be the cold Melbourne weather. It got so cold it just froze up and snapped :P Well here are some pictures of the bad boy installed: http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk63/zomgunique/Car/photo.jpg http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk63/zomgunique/Car/photo6.jpg http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk63/zomgunique/Car/photo5.jpg http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk63/zomgunique/Car/photo3.jpg http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk63/zomgunique/Car/photo2.jpg Quick question, why did some people say they had trouble installing the rear sway bar? Like having to take one tyre off, not able to take it out without dropping the exhaust etc? For me it was like 15 minute thing without having to do anything other then putting car on ramps and unbolting bar and bolting in new bar. -
How many people came into this thread thinking that the OP was going to ask about installing something to track the Aurion if its stolen? Come on fess up

What did you do to your car today?
Silver-Aurion replied to JustinW's topic in General Toyota & Other Car Discussions
Really? I thought that the XR6 would have had decent suspension away from stock? Well for me, installed the ultra racing sway bar yesterday and I forgot to grease it so today I took it off again and greased the plastic pieces and put them back on. Then gave the inside a vacuum. The outside of the car is a mess! I went to get a hair cut today and my hair dresser last time seen the Aurion and loved it and commented how clean it was. Guess what he said today? Why didn't you bring your new car? LOL. He couldnt recognise it because it was so filthy It's been raining like every second day in Melbourne and its not been worth the hassle cleaning it when it will stay clean only for like few hours. I gotta wait until the weather dries up and heats up a bit. -

+1 at least let UR know what happened and if you feel it's not the fault of the car or yourself i would want a PLEASE EXPLAIN from UR. Nathan the sh!tty luck continues with your suspension bars...maybe a Landcruiser is more your speed. :P i had a quick look in the shed to see if i had my old sway for you,bad sadly i think it got tossed in the hard rubbish collection a few months back. :( Well I've got my sway bar in the shed and my dad also said sell it and I said you better not throw it out . It's sitting in the shed now. Anyway, I took the bar off and put grease all over it inside and out and screwed the brackets back in. Absolutely no more squeek. Best money I've ever spent on a car seriously. I'm loving the reduced body roll. Big props to DJKOR and everyone else who helped :) -

Silver-Aurion replied to Silver-Aurion's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
I'd try removing the bushes and putting some lithium grease on them so the bar slides smoothly within it. Depending on how tight everything is and how the sound is transferred, you may be getting mixed up between a tight squeak and a knock. Thanks man. I sprayed some silicon spray on them and no more noise. I know it went last for long but its just a temporary measure until I can be bothered to remove it again. Such an idiot I can't believe I forgot to grease them. But seriously it took me like 15 minutes, lol. Reverse car onto ramps, take bolts off, remove bar, insert new bar etc, re tighten everything. And the difference is noticeable, its not V8 super car balanced but I love the decreased body roll and more neutral feel to everything. Though now I can feel bumps on the road :P. Oh yeah not to mention the parcel shelf making its own music -

The bolts went on with gorilla grip. No lube. What I done was tighten one a little then tighten the other side a little until both sides are tight as can possiblly be. -

Silver-Aurion replied to Silver-Aurion's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
Guys I need some quick help. I installed the bar, was pretty straight forward and easy thing. I took it for a drive and all is well except the left side sounds like it scrapes when I go over bad bumps over the road like a speed hump. I had a look and cant see anything that it would hit. Whats wrong? -
Are you serious? Damn and I thought I loved my car
-
These are very nice cars, they are like a rock and damn quiet engines and cabins too, also in my opinion the very last type of Camry Toyota built before they went a bit dodgy with build quality.
-
Damn that sounds good.

Lol! Thanks man! I also just read on toyota nation that apparently UR don't send the brackets anymore because the new plastic pieces have been redesigned to fit with the cars original brackets :). I'm hoping to have it in on Sunday. -

http://njerald.pixa.us/images/16236686/ In this picture the guy has what seems to be a ultra racing white bracket. I never got this with my package. Was I suppose to or can I use the one on the car already? -
Yes, the new one will be a V6 pushing out 245KW and a RWD. (i wish)

damn i knoew there was a reason why people would run away from me! :P liking the idea of steam cleaning.. any recommendations for a cheap cleaner thou? lol The youtube link given is great, even the cleanest looking cars the water can look like that! As you can see how much crap comes out. Think of it like sweeping and hosing down your drive way, sweeping does clean it up, but when you hose is down you see all the mud washing off the cement. Sweat, smell, dirt, grime steam cleaning will get rid of it. People use products and wipe it off but really all that is doing is collecting some on the cloth and the rest is getting pushed in the material because its not getting sucked up. Though for someone like you davo who keeps the car clean, I would say do it every one and a half years to two years.
-
Aha, that hadn't entered into my head, although I'm not quite sure how I'd achieve it, unless I could use a good old steam mop? Do they still have the hire ones at Woolworths? I didn't use that though, we have a $4500 machine lol. To be honest though, if you have never steam cleaned your car like carpet and seats it would be good to do it. You would seriously be surprised how rejuvenated your cars interior looks and feels. Not cleaning the material is like never cleaning your clothes and just wearing the same ones everyday.

Do doors unlock after a car accident?
Silver-Aurion replied to Silver-Aurion's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
Out of interest, what safety benefits are there to locking your doors while you drive? Like others have said and I have said, it just doesn't feel right. You wouldn't leave your house doors unlocked 24/7 would you? I live in a area that can be a bit dodgy at the best of times and the latest robbery while someone waiting at an intersection was about 3 months ago. edit: Added a poll just for the heck of it :)
