  1. Well I ended up buying it. Just could not resist. I just hope I made the right decision. I have a fear that it won't live up to the expectations. Just hope it does! Less body roll will make me happy!
  2. That is some hard acceleration. I watched it the second time to see the RPM's on each run. I've never hit that much before. I just love how the TRD is so planted on the road and around corners. Gimme the car. edit: It sucks that you can't go past 100KM/h aye. I can see that your itching to go past 100KM/h. I find it so hard to follow the speed limit when I do a "hard" acceleration because it reaches the speed limit too easy. <_< double edit: Couldn't help myself, watched it the third time Can't get enough of the wine.
  3. Nah...thats what these MARKETEERS want you to believe. I tend to fall for the marketing crap hence why I like to use Fuel Doctor. But this isn't for the injector cleaning properties, it's for the supposed fuel tank cleaning properties. That said, I have been meaning to get some once I got the TRD, but still haven't got around to it. In terms of performance, 40,000km into it's life without an injector clean and it still runs like new. Can average as low as 7.5l/100km and it runs nice times at the drags. I can't really imagine it running any better than that. After using BP premium for over six months now and three bottles of fuel doctor (as instructed) I really like the way my Aurion drives. It just has the awesome up and go feeling when you floor it. Quiet engine, smooth acceleration and idles smooth as. Not kidding but when I got this car when I was stopped at lights the car would vibrate, now its like the engine is not even on. Combination of six months of BP98 and fuel doctor really gives you that nice giddy feeling inside. Especially with all the new fluids in my Aurion as well, tranny, oil, power steering etc :D
  4. Yeah, and the manual also states that an oil consumption of 1 litre per 1000km is completely normal. Do you really believe the manual now? What else is there not to believe? Everything else in the manual is straight forward and only common sense things like engine running in but I do remember reading that oil consumption part and wondering that can't be right. Lets say it really did consume 1 litre every 1000KM, then you have no oil left at all in the car by 6000KM and the car is meant for 15K or 1 year service.
  5. Pwoooh, my first time seeing an Aurion do a burn out.
  6. I like it, but can I give some feedback? I'm not that much of a fan with the white on black thing going on. Try for White on white, like davo has got going on his white Aurion. white on white and if the car is black, black on black :) other then that, it looks awesome man :) edit: I would remove the eyelids, the eyesore number plate cover that says city toyota and some bling bling on the grill. It's too dark for a white car. Looks out of place. Then it would be perfect. But of course this is just to suit my taste
  7. Mate, the engine's have already been redlined at the factory a few times. LOL. When I was young, I wacked all the new cars my parents had from the get go...and they all performed very strongly later in life..but thats just me. Yeah they are red lined.. But also, Read page 186 in the Aurion manual ;)
  8. I thought an Aurion TAX would be burning money, not oil! Sorry, I just had to :P
  9. I think I see a spec of dust on the car mate Loving the ride. Hands down the cleanest Aurion AT-X in the world? edit: Just looked at the pictures again, I think a sunroof would make this car look hotttttt. :spiteful: It would give it that extra bling B)
  10. Highly doubt its the oil. I would put it down to defective engine from the factory. I'll be using Penrite HPR5 oil in my car next service (which is 5W-40) and I highly doubt this would ruin my engine so I don't see how (5W-30) would ruin a engine as well. Can you disclose what 5-30 oil you have been using? Company? Also, you are under service advantage so why did you bother with your own oil? My service advantage has ended so I'll be using my own oil.
  11. I've never machined my rotors, I just have a good set of Bendix brakes.
  12. Nice. One thing I love about these Fords is how they designed the foggies B)
  13. A lot of you guys are claiming the Aurion is fast, beating maloos? Are you serious? If the Aurion can beat a HSV I guess DJKOR's TRD is as fast as the speed of light?
  14. A girl (that I know) last night txted me saying she was driving behind me. So then I asked how do you know it was me? She said because you have a Silver Camry. I got defensive and then she replied aurion camry, same sh!t :(. It kinda is but also kinda isnt! But then again, I do what DJKOR does and say it's a camry or sometimes don't give a crap because the Camry IS a nice car. And hey, I was an ex 97 camry owner (wide body) :). The Aurion is my second car. I would have never opted for a Toyota. I was actually looking at Holdens etc, but a family friend was selling his Camry for almost free so I took it off him. Best choice ever, if I never did I would have been a holden boy
  15. Mostly correct. In most situations, the only thing that is more prone to wear is the tensioner. The chain can go bad as well, but if you keep your oil changes in order, the chain will more than likely last the life of the engine. That said, not everything is perfect and it can just go bad for no obvious reason. But either way, most cases you won't come across this. Anyways, the primary timing chain tensioner can be inspected without having to remove the timing chain cover. On the accessory side of the engine on the rear bank, there is a small panel held on with 4 bolts. You remove these 4 bolts and remove the panel to be able to visually inspect (and quite possibly even change) the primary timing belt tensioner. You can see this panel in the bottom centre of the attached photo. For reference, the primary timing belt tensioner is of a ratchet type with a non-return mechanism and utilises both spring and oil pressure to maintain tension on the chain at all times. On visual inspection, you should easily be able to see whether this is failing. So you can feel free to inspect this at any service you want to depending on how picky you are. That said, good luck doing it with the engine in the car. Very good reply. I think by the time I come to this stage where things start becoming old/loose I would have sold off the Aurion long ago for a new car again.
  16. If you have the ULTRA RACING 19mm Rear Anti-roll Bar: [uR-AR19-159] and no longer want it or selling one I would love to take it off you.
  17. Once again you seem to doubt me :P Yeah, I never should have :(. You are seriously the wikipedia of Aurion. I always appreciate your help on this board man. I think I speak for many here that if you were to leave TOCA, Aurion owners are in deep ****
  18. Thats enough buddy. I'm not tech savvy so I didn't quite understand.
  19. Are you pulling my leg I was told by some guy(I'll just call him that) that the chain is old tech and even the chain needs a service because it can become "loose" over time. Like a bike chain for example. edit: With a quick google search it really does have a timing chain. Well thats news to me. I love this car even more now
  20. http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=259120 Good read!
  21. 99% of car enthusiasts will disagree with you ..... and Mr. Sheen is worse. I've been using the amorall dash spray for four years now and probably will for ever. I've never had any problems with it. Sometimes if I want that extra shine I'll use a tiny bit of meguiars tyre shine gel on the dash with an applicator pad.
  22. Damn, now I want to shed 250KG from my Aurion and convert it to RWD :P LOL yeah me too!! But dont forget our cars arent really sport cars.. Such a shame aye.. and our transmission setup restricts us to a certain power. Why Toyota!! Why!! Haha if our cars were RWD oh my!! how much more fun.. +1 million. If these Aurions came in RWD package I wonder what the Holden and Ford boys would be picking on then? It's annoying because some guy on the street few days ago said (not joking here), nice car, those Aurions are punchy for a FWD! AHHHH! As soon as they think FWD they think slow and crap. Im sure if those Holden and Ford boys had a FWD setup in their car, they would just be doing burnouts instead of moving off the start line. Haha. If our cars were RWD and even in manual we would blow them away, plus their cars hav atleast 60kw more than we do... So i dont know how they can give us **** That is true. I see way too many bogans in there RWD flat sticking the cars at the lights like some chump today in his yellow monaro. He hit the accelerator so damn hard at the lights it sounded like a freight train(was trying to race a ford). Poor engine :(
