  1. Why does your Aurion need 98? I thought we share the same engines?
  2. **** yeah man. Thats beasty as. How did you find this picture?
  3. Yeah, small cars are not my type. She is one lucky lady I'll tell you that, and an awesome spot mate, well done. B)
  4. Hey this is a good idea. Never thought of a craft store. There is one at my local shopping centre so I'll pay a visit there. Also thanks for everyone else who put in your ideas. I hope I can find the right stuff to fix this patch up. Cheers :)
  5. It is. Look at carsales and search for your average four cylinder car and they all have three and a half green stars. The Aurion is a V6 and has 4 green stars B)
  6. LOL! Thats like me when cleaning the wheels . Never getting the tyre gel again. It's too much trouble spreading it on. Next time I'm getting the spray. I envy your TRD man :( Today was crap day. I decided to give the inside a vacuum(The car is a mess again outside, it's raining like a typhoon everyday). After vacuuming I decided to finally get around to unbolting the sway bar again and lube the rubber parts and put on some teflon tape(As advised by another member here). So I put the car up on ramps and off I went unbolting, took the rubber parts off and lubed them up and everything was pretty straight forward. Then it came to bolting the **** sway bar back in. It just would NOT sit in properly. It would not align no matter how much I tried. For two hours(YES, two hours) I tried to place it back in and I just could not. So I called my mechanical minded mate and he told me to look at how I placed the car on the ramps. DOH! One tyre was higher and the other tyre was a bit lower so they were not aligned which is why I spent two effing hours trying to put it back on. But at least the teflon tape idea worked and the extra grease. No more squeaking <_< <_< Also while doing all that I decided to do an ECU reset(I was meaning to do this after I had my transmission computer replaced), so after the ECU reset drove the car around and to gym etc and what a difference. Gear changes are much smoother and car sounds so much quieter. So yeah, it was an eventful and cold day today lying on the cement on my back for two hours
  7. Nah, it's not all the way through. Just a surface burn. It would be quite hard to find the same material though. I just really want a cheap fix that could cover it up. Even if someone could tell it's been patched at least it won't be as bad as it is now.
  8. If you are changing your oil filter as well(which you should be doing), that 5 litres of oil will not be enough. WITH oil filter change the Aurion takes 6.1 litres of oil. Yea, I bought tow bottles, thanx man. And is there any good oil filter you can recommend? Well we don't really get much of a choice but either Ryco or go to your dealer and pick up an oil filter. They are not that expensive anyway so I would go Toyota Genuine always on my filters, and you feel good that you are using original parts B) If you *must* use an aftermarket filter here is the links to the Ryco filters: http://www.rycofilters.com.au/catalogue/product/make/TOYOTA/model/AURION/part/R2648P http://www.rycofilters.com.au/catalogue/application/make/TOYOTA/model/AURION
  9. Pictures are pretty much self explanatory. I bought the car with that small burnt cigarette patch. How can I fix it or patch it up? Nothing comes to my mind on how to patch it up. It really ****s me because today someone came into my car and they literally complimented on how clean the car was and then they see that patch and it just ruins that whole clean, new car feel. <_< It's an eyesore.
  10. Add another $200 to that and you could have got 3 years and 150,000KM like I did
  11. If you are changing your oil filter as well(which you should be doing), that 5 litres of oil will not be enough. WITH oil filter change the Aurion takes 6.1 litres of oil.
  12. Not really ECU flash but a new transmission computer which was put onto mine thanks to warranty after I complained about lagging gear changes(which is a different problem from the OP's) but the NEW transmission computer has definitely reduced kick down and as the op calls it, flat spot. That is one of the first major things I noticed when I got my car back.
  13. I have been driving for four years now and I have never received an infringement and that is including parking fines. It's hard to stay a good boy on the roads because it is so easy to ***** up because it's way too strict. At the same time it also helps knowing how speed cameras work and red light cameras work because there are too many in Melbourne ;) One thing that has ALWAYS slowed me down even if I am running late is that I rather be 10 minutes late and follow the speed limit and save myself my licence and money then speeding and being pulled over and having to wait for the cop to take a good 20 minutes to write up a ticket. When I realise I'm pushing the limit I just repeat to myself something that will make me slow down and calm down and it has paid off.
  14. Hardly :P! When I had my P's I had the Aurion and I do also see P-platers driving Aurions in Melbourne too
  15. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit thats hot Congratulations on the buy. Where about from Victoria are you from? It's good to see Victorians pimp out there Toyotas because it seems like there is a lot of brissy boys doing it but not as much here.
  16. ok thanks people getting varex fitted 2 september figers crossed
  17. I was looking at couple of performance chips on eBay for the Aurion and it says it will make the Aurion go faster. How many should I buy?
  18. Waiting for it to dry? Isn't that like a five minute thing? wax needs at least 15-20mins to set b4 you wipe it off and a 12-24 hour cure time to acheive max shine and protection... (at least for meguiars it does) Oh okay, well thats news to me. Because mine dries in like few minutes and then I wipe off. What I do is buff, wait to dry, wipe and continue for rest of the car.
  19. How can you say its cheap on Toyotas behalf .Get behind the wheel of a Commodore and you not only hear the servos doing the check but you can definately feel it through the wheel also. The check in the Aurion is very mild in comparison. Okay then, because the Aurion is the only car I've ever been in that does the whole clunk thing checking the ABS.
  20. Yep thats the one. Do you know what it is? No clue at all. I'll be using penrite HPR 5 in my service and be supplying that. If I didn't have warranty I would do it myself but just because of that damn stamp I must get it done at a mechanic, well which is only three times lol. Do these boys do log book so like I won't void my warranty? I forgot to ask them last time I was there.
  21. Waiting for it to dry? Isn't that like a five minute thing? Eh, that is news to me because when I apply wax I wipe it off couple of minutes later because it is already dry? What I do is buff, wait few minutes to dry and wipe and continue like this.
  22. I've been wondering, why Toyota did not make the ABS check discreet? Why did they have to make it sound like you ran over a kangaroo? lol. Do all cars with ABS do an ABS check? It seems a bit cheap for Toyota to do it like they did.
  23. Awesome. Team silver FTW! I really wanted an SX6 but the lack of features and leather annoyed me so I bought the Prodigy and the ZR6 was way over my budget(and still is) so Prodigy was the next best thing. But looking at those pictures of the SX6 makes me think twice. Go for the good looks AND sports suspension or features Any mod's planned? :)
  24. Registration Fee, Transport Accident Charge(TAC), Insurance Duty is ALL included when you pay for your rego. So you don't need to get anything separate. I just calculated it online and yearly rego in Victoria is $624.10 for full paying customers, it's $530.40 for health care card holders and $312.05 for pensioner card holders(what a bargain) :P Sure beats Hidden Taco's $1000 rego, lol. Edit: If you meant insurance as in a full separate insurance for like car accidents, it's not compulsory so you don't need it. But you would have to be a complete idiot not to :P. I'm on full insurance but no clue how much I'm paying. I think its like $900 or something but I could be totally wrong Poor people in NSW always have to run around getting quotes for rego and have to frequently get a roady. So glad it's not like that here.
