  1. What a rip off 50 pounds for a piece of duct ! And that installation pic is a joke - that car would be working better with a standard airbox because the inlet tract is far too long now.
  2. I had a rattle drove me nuts until I found it was in fact my key ring :D
  3. It should be at the full level, and if it's a few mm over it ok too (probably better), if its half way up your dipstick that's a problem.
  4. What sort of fuel are you using? The rattling sound could possibly be the engine knocking under load (pinging).
  5. Sorry everyone but some stuff has come up for me and I wont be able to organise and participate in this as I was planning to :( But there's obviously interest to have this on a Sunday in November, So if someone wants to take charge, I will PM you all the details of where to go so you can still have fun :D Go on step up to the plate :)
  6. NICE! These were my first choice but was told due to quality not to get them and now I regret it because the 'Experts' were all tossers. Get them - you wont regret it! Anyway 03MikeSportivo has them in gold on his, there should be pics lying around somewhere.

    One horny looking ride :D
  9. Remembering that the pod is behind the battery on the passenger side for this SRI, a centre mounted hood scoop wont do jack, only a side mounted scoop will be effective but that will look shiete. Creating an appropriate box and installing the appropriate cold air duct for the box is far better, Also Gazoom doesn't have fog lights as far as I can see - so no reason why he cant drill/cut holes into the black blank (Or remove it and replace with mesh) and have a pipe opening behind it and feeding up to the boxed sri. The pipe will be quite short and reasonably straight with just a kink to go underneath the headlight - so airflow will be good.
  10. I like it. Bring on the agro look. Plus, it needs to look different, 7-9 all look too similar. A recent article states the production version wont look much different to this prototype.
  11. Melb: Fri: RME1 lookin slammed! Sat: Initial D Major parked on Burwood Hwy
  12. I wouldn't go making holes in the bonnet, unless you have a raised scoop (or sunken vent) that will draw the airflow downwards, a bonnet vent will only allow hot air to escape but not cool air to enter. Boxing off the filter and placing some ducting to draw in some outside air is a better alternative.

When people get to close to me these days I left foot brake, they see the lights and back off, whilst I just continue on. Quite funny sometimes.
  14. Last time I checked the manual gearbox has no dipstick :P
  15. What you don't see on the photo is you're actually descending or ascending about 200m on that small stretch of road.
  16. Over time wouldnt this put much more wear on the clutch unless you were rev-matching each time(heal & toe)? Also its more work for no real gain. Just the way I see it. Yes heel toe and rev-match all the time, there's no other way
  17. The Intake pipe sits above the gearbox/transmission. Regardless of it getting cool air from outside the engine bay, metal is always going to absorb heat. More so in day to day traffic when the car tends to be more stationary.
  18. Down shift until I stop. The Car brakes in a shorter distance, ready to accelerate again and also less reliant on brakes alone to slow down. Same reason I highly prefer a manual over an auto.
  19. With the already flared wheel arches of your model I can imagine it will look very sexy indeed. ok ok I take back the girls car comments from earlier :P
  20. Thanks Stewie! Great Review Can't wait to see the MX-5 when we go for a cruise, last time I saw it the only thing you did was add the Enkei's.
  21. Two wheels/Four wheels turbo or na we want you there Dave :D
