  1. They would have done it to avoid a disgruntled customer. Compared to some out of warranty claims it wasn't that costly. Exactly they didnt do it because it was a definitely "lack of quality". $275 isn't much in the great scheme of things for them. If it would have been more they would be trying to find every possible reason why it failed and point it straight to "wear and tear". When I tried to get a $3500 out of warranty (by 2 months / only done 65,000km) claim when my auto box broke the first time. The torque converter, and a main seal fail spewing oil everywhere which in turn killed the pump inside as well, they pointed at every single thing that "could have" caused the problem through wear and tear and refused it. Maybe I should have posted threads on tocau about it then come to think about it and get a recall going.
  2. Do I have the only camry in AU to have an LSD?

  3. Should meet up! That drive is fun :P 10hours of straight driving ahhaah. Hope you didnt do the trip in your freshly painted car. The amount of stone chips I got from the trip was amazing.
  4. Looks nice! Mine's going the deepest, glossiest black (non metallic). Apparently he has one in mind already and its an off the shelf can of paint so it doesn't correlate to a colour code.
  5. Nice I'm not the only person getting a full respray for the car, out of curiousity why not change colour while you are at it?
  6. Car is all back together. Just need to be test driven and an alignment.

Rear needs a raised wing. Not sure I like the look of the rear as is. The front and side profile shots look nice
  11. Parked the car outside to be rained on, only to end up being sunned...

Rain does not undo 5 months of dirt and grime...!

  12. Lol if your tank last you 2 weeks, run it down and fill up enough for 1 week. Eg fill it up half way.. Realistically running the car so that it is nearly empty is most efficient as you won't be dragging that fuel around. However you will need to think ahead as to where you will be driving to till next fill day. I fill $50 every week so that I will have enough to last till the next cheap day which at the moment is Thursday for us.
  13. Personally speaking, i think you need to add another 10k to that if you want the job finished Jeffy. 10k will get you the parts sitting in your driveway and thats it... To the OP: I would also say that to do it, you'll need at least 6k. A good rule of thumb for value for money is $100/hp increase. Now I'll let you do the maths. :P And for that money you could as well sell the camry and buy an aurion lol or maybe even a trd aurion. [edit] Actually you'll need more as you'll need to do the whole exhaust which from a proper exhaust shop will cost you like 2-3k just for that bit alone.
  14. Because of my awesomeness, I blew up an 80amp fuse. Now let see if I can make this 150amp fuse blow too.

  15. Lol I'll probably get the gt apex if it comes here. But I'd also wait for a turbo kit which will come as this will be a tuner's car. The only thing I would be worried about is the reputation it is going to have with the cops. It will be picked on like the wrx'es when every man and his dog goes sideways around corners.
  16. I believe I have heard this before. And I'll be there but not for too long.
  17. For your car it isn't a problem as it is still pretty new. But I wouldn't recommend a full synthetic to an older car with high km that haven't been using synthetic oils. They usually have cleaning agents added to it. And sometimes with old cars the gunk can be the thing that is stopping the leaks. So if you suddenly put full syn in it, you may find that the cleaning agents un-gunks everything and then you find leaks everywhere. Just something I have been told.
  18. Plus hubs would be cheap as chips as you can use the gen3 onwards hubs and we all know how many camry's are out there :P
  19. Hey mate! I think the v6 hub idea would be the best. I remember you saying you were going to change your wheels so this might be the best time to covert to the 5 studs. Then depending on the size of the wheels you are going for you could use something like the Gen6 camry brakes, the kluger fronts. Both of which are pretty much bolt on and they are a lot bigger!
  20. What about a meet at hoppies if it is wet, there is enough room to park and the undercover area when we normally wax can be our hangout.
  21. Firstly those pics are HUGE! And secondly, I hope you have the details of the brakes on those cars as we are going to get a lot of "what brakes are those" questions on the way. But those brakes do look good.
