  1. Go the emanage blue and ditch the SAFC, I wouldn't go anything more basic. With more control, you'll get better performance outta your car as a whole. Kinda do it properly first, as you really don't want something to go wrong, if it does......it could get horrible. I'm sure you can hold off your urges
  2. Bah its got nothing to do with me, but came across it on ebay ;) Click here Basically its a custom kit that was created for his 2003 corolla, so I imagine that it is pretty much a bolt on kit. At $2500 its a bit of a bargain if you ask me. Including strengthened head as well as a forged pistons (strange given that I though the rods would fail first then the pistons). Someone on here please buy it.....if only it was for a sportivo
  3. I've been using RainX additive to the washer bottle and bosch premium wiper blade refills for the past 6 months and they are awesome. Its really funny when you are driving on the freeway and there is no need for the wipes cause the droplets just bead right off the windscreen
  4. Last time I checked, the calipers went for $650 on ebay. Just to let you know...I think there is a guy selling a whole set with rotors (Front and back) for about $1200 on ebay at the moment
  5. Thats the problem its your driving style I think, the thump you are hearing is when your drive train loads up... I could be wrong though.... Its like flat shifting, you will hear that bump, or wheelspin :D
  6. Nah, I'm not checking them out. Just waiting for MR22ZZ to sort it out, as he has access to both ST202 and zze123/zzt231 calipers. I've got a spare set of zzt231 calipers, and I'm hoping that I can stick them onto a starlet with sportivo disc
  7. I'll take you up on that offer!! You have PM! While indeed the superstrut twin piston calipers do use 275mm disc, I believe the mounting points on the hub of the zze12# corollas are shorter compared to the AE series corolla. Therefore it is essentially the same. With that in mind actually, would mounting sportivo/celica calipers on a ae series corolla allow the use of a much larger disc????? 296mm???? I may have stumbled upon something here.... Cause if mounting ae101 twin piston calipers allows the use of 275mm disc on a ae101, but on a zze123 only 255mm. Then if we think about it logically, wouldn't we be able to use zze123/zzt231 calipers mounted on a ae101 corolla to obtain a potential use of a 295mm disc???? Someone surely must have tried it, with so many people with the older series corollas....
  8. Click here In short you will be going to need to use 255mm disc brakes from the regular zze122 corollas. Which IMO is not worth doing, as while although you are going to obtain more even pressure and larger pad area, you will be going backwards due to going down to a smaller disc (275mm vs 255mm)
  9. Probably point out the obvious, maybe not... But the C-One (Type R?) strut bar you got there will fit your car, the bar appears to be located more forward then the Megan one that you have.
  10. Just outta curiosity, has anyone measure the stock flywheel mass??
  11. The stock system, including the air intakes are designed to take off better at the lights etc. But once you get past say 3.5-4K rpm they are not exactly ideal in terms of performance. I've tried it several times and everytime I go back to 'stock', the car performs better right off the line and everyday driving, just seems to take a long time before I get it into the next gear.
  12. Would be interested in how you go with the more premium balancing service. I thought due to the fact that most of the load of the wheels is through the hub and that a hub centric balance would suit most (>90%) of the customers out there. If it doesn't fix your problem then It would most likely be your hubcentric rings outta balance/shape.
  13. You can order them through Toyota Dealers, the JDM headlights. I think they are somewhere around $600 AUD for both??
  14. Coilovers and not adjustable??? You will be hard pressed to find a set for that price brand new, unless of course you are quoting USD. Even then you would be buying a low quality product. Is there any reason why you are choosing coilovers?? For that price you would be able to get a fairly decent quality shock/spring combo which will suit street purposes fine. If your heading to the track then its a different story, as coilovers are really stiff. But since you mentioned that it doesn't have to be adjustable, then I'm ruling proper track work out....
  15. You have to remove the plastic cartridge that holds it in. Push the two clips on the side to slide it out
  16. The one thing that never goes to plan is trying to stick to the budget ;) Back in the earlier days, I tried to improve the sound system on a low student budget of $1000, it ended up being $3000 with all the work done by myself... :(
  17. Shameless free plug. 205/50/16's Toyo T1R's $198 Toyo Proxes 4s $178 He gave me a deal I couldn't refuse. Goodyear Eagle F1 DS-G3 for ... $145 fitted and balanced!! I remember getting a quote on these tyres off another place for $230ea, but this was last year. But unfortunately I don't think he would do it for that price again, cause I asked him (Ken) about it. Blairs tyres Lansvale 9724 0771 When I was ringing around for prices, Blairs at lansvale always gave me one of the cheapest prices around. Once you've purchased four of them, rotations are for free for the life of the tyre. I'm not related to them, but just was so happy about the deal that I got. So for the people around sydney, I recommend that you guys give them a call when getting some quotes. Cheers, Thai
  18. From my experience a twinloop is only good for cars that don't need to be revved sky high. I find that there is a loss of power in the higher rpm of the 2zzge engine. But this is based only one my car . My suggestion is to fit the largest straight through offset/offset 2.5" muffler. Something like this.
  19. Supra - Cause growing up I aspired to own a supra one day Thai - Name is Thai....and no I'am actually chinese....strange but true
  20. following on from that, all you have to do is divide 7065 by 1820000 and you'll get your anyswer in seconds. which means its really small by the way.
  21. With the huge amount of room at the front, it was only a matter of time before someone did it. Awesome car btw! Torque steer? :D
  22. bah, engineers crunch numbers all day. I'm one of them, but I'm a chemical engineer and work in the water/wastewater side of things with regards to membrane development. Think of desalination and I have my part in it. Don't let big numbers get to you, there not that important unless its to do with your personal savings :D
  23. If its 3m wide then, you just multiply 3.14*1.5*1.5*950000*1000=6711750000L/hour. Thats assuming that the air travelling through the 3m circular opening is at 950km/hr. Then we have to take into account other factors. Anyone here is an aerospace engineer??
  24. Cause someone has a TRD supercharger bolted to his 1zz Definitely required if your on the track though, which I'm pretty sure vvti16v frequents
  25. This is a generalisation, in terms of coilovers, don't look for anything under the $2500 range. DMS and Bilstein command a lot of money, if you consider them cheap then you can always step up to ohlins :D
