  1. Turn the key from off to on 3 times in 5 seconds. PROG should be displayed on the clocks Press button on the remote and the hazards should flash Repeat for next remote Turn ignition off when finished and test remote
  2. The 12050 would be the remote module number but I don't have this listed for anything. One of the remotes from a Tarago might do the trick but it's a bit hard to test without a car to try them on.
  3. I have been Locksmithing for 15 years now and mostly with Auto. Every week I make keys to "unstealable cars", there is no such thing. With a key code from a dealer you car can be driven away in under 5 minutes, this doens't just apply to Toyota either. As Hiro said with keyless ignitions these are infact easier (for most cars) to start without a key. Id does take some expensive tools to do it but for someone stealing cars its a small outlay for a big profit. What I am surprised about is how car manufactures are going about making cars "secure" by complicating the keys, a good start would be cutting communication to the OBD until the ignition is turned on, or even having some type of authentication via OBD to get access to the cars computers.. 2006 is a 67 not a H.
  4. Hi Kathy. Can you please unscrew the back off your key, there should be some numbers on the back of the remote module, what are they?
  5. Toyota can not do it. They can only sell you a new ECU and as this would not have had any keys programmed to it previously you would be able to code your current keys in. To get a replacement ECU reset you would need an Auto Locksmith, they would be able to code your existing keys straight into it so it would be plug and play. It might be worth seeing what Toyota charge for a new ECU. I have had to replace ECU's on Auto Rav4's before as they have issues, and the ECU's were around $800 from memory.
  6. What did they damage? If it was only the outer handle then you should still be able to unlock it from the inside. Are you sure that someone tried to get in as it is possible that the mech has failed, they do have a couple of small springs on them that fail.
  7. It should just be a superceded part and will still do the job as Trent said. With this ECU the immobiliser is in the ECU so you would either have to get one that comes with a Master key, has been reset or get someone to reset it for you so you can use your existing keys.
  8. I had mine in the tub but I did also have it set up for tools and working out of. I have seen brackets so they can be bolted in the engine bay but I have heard stories that the mounting points aren't the best and eventually sheer off, I guess that would depend on the kit though.
  9. If you open the rear door is there a bolt in the floor or something that lines up with there the spare tire is mounted?
  10. Here you go. Keys from Toyota aren't that expensive but another option is getting a new key shell cut TO CODE ( DO NOT GET A COPY OF YOUR WORN KEY) and then cut the transponder chip out of your existing key.
  11. Yes, it might be the door lock actuator in the drivers door, these aren't cheap so it's not something you want to just swap out to see if it does fix it. The ones that I have had to replace haven't been locking/ unlocking that specific door as there is a part in them which breaks. As yours still kinda works it might be a dirty contact switch in the actuator so the central locking module doesn't see that the door is closed? If you are handy at pulling things apart ( and more importantly putting them back together :) ) then you could try pull the actuator apart and clean it out.
  12. Sounds like the car is thinking that there is either a key left in the ignition of that a door is open. Can you turn the interior lights on to "Door" and see if it does out. When you have the key out of the ignition and the door opened does it chime at you ( Not all models do this so this won't eliminate the key insertion switch)
  13. If you don't have an existing working MASTER key it will cost you a couple of grand from the dealer. Was the transponder chip damaged at any stage of installing it in the new key? When cutting it out of the damaged key did you cut into the chip at all? I'm guessing that you also don't have a spare key?
  14. The transponder chip is located in the remote module on these so you don't have to do any recoding. What state do you live in as I may be able to help you out. I get a lot of these types of keys with broken key shells.
  15. With that budget don't expect anything too useful. If you want a good OBD tool to be able to see what is going on with your car you will need to add a couple of 0's to that.
  16. A new genuine remote is only around $80... that's not expensive compared to most keys and remotes. If you replace only the case you will find that soon enough the rest of the remote will go.
  17. If you open your glove box is there a slot with 2 metal contacts that your remote fits into? If there is then your remote is most likely the issue. If you don't have a working remote the dealer has to replace the CIR and code in 2 new remotes. I am able to code these though to deactivate the factory remote/ immobiliser but you won't be able to have a remote then.
  18. It's the actuator, they are around $300 from Toyota and easy to replace. Take the door trim off remove the door barrel ( Held in with a trox bit) Unbolt the window track ( Have the window up Unclip the plug going into the locking mechanism and undo the torx bits that fix it to the door. Remove and replace.
  19. You need an immo box and key that are matched but its not as simple as just putting it in the car, that then has to be linked to the ECU. Best way is to take the Immo box and drivers side door lock to an Auto locksmith. They can cut you a key key and code the transponder. It will cost you a couple of hundred dollars but its a lot better than having 2 keys for the car and all the stuffing around.
  20. Do you have a master key? this will be a remote key and/ or black key head. What are you after, remote or non remote, genuine or aftermarket? This is for your 2005 Corolla?
  21. The car battery could be on the way out. As a lot of alarms have a low battery warning it might be that, get the battery tested.
  22. Have you done anything else to the car to help improve performance? Better exhaust, snorkel an good air filter?
  23. Open up the remote you are trying to code in. What are the numbers on the back?
  24. (mr2)

    Hitch Lock

If it is like the spare tire locks then you need to pull it not turn it. If that doesn't work then it's a different key. Get a Locksmith to make a key for you.
