  1. Comprehensive :) btw nice choice on the wheel change about halfway through ;)
  2. I know! I didn't realise, but the mini is THE perfect size to fit in that little dead spot in the dash. The beauty of the setup is I can take it to whatever vehicle I'm driving for that day (I have a little combo van for work, and often taking Camry's/Corollas on longish road trips for work) Haha cheers mate :P. I even toyed with the idea of mounting it higher up off the windscreen or above the clock/airvents, with a bulky mount, would totally look like a cop computer :D atleast this way its out of the way, and less chance of an ACTUAL cop noticing (don't think its exactly legal to have a setup such as this while in motion )
  3. Next mod on the list was to update the carPC of sorts that I had to something a bit more flexible. I've been using a 10" Netbook to play music through AUX input since I had my license basically. I've never really been one for using iTunes and due to my music collection being so large I needed a setup with decent amount of storage available. So after a couple of trips back to JB Hifi, I picked up some gear; Right angled 3.5mm audio lead, WD Wireless Plus 1TB Hard drive (inbuilt 10hr battery, wireless hotspot etc) iPad mini 16GB Wifi, and a random mounting bracket I stumbled upon that turned out to be the perfect fit Firstly, I had to modify one of the moulds that came with the mount, and seeing as I dont own a iPhone 4, this was the perfect candidate. And with a little help from my rotary tool, I got this Next was to mount the iPhone 4 mould plate to the back of the iPad mini case Next came the fun bit, mounting! The area below the climate control is where I am going to mount the mini, as there is more or less a blank filler and then a ashtray/12V outlet (which in future I will have a USB charger to run the mini+external drive on LONG trips if needed) All mounted up ready to go Mount in place ready for the iPad And then voila, success! Using an app called "FileExplorer" from the app store, to access the external hard drive wirelessly via an SMB share setup, very simple stuff, and now have access to my entire music collection on the go Cockpit now And just for fun :P 720P/1080P streaming seems to be superb on this setup however Can basically have the hard drive wherever I want in the car and it will still serve music fine, just have it placed in the centre console for now.
  4. If I ever track down a set of tails from the wreckers I will get you to build them up just like that revision, except with the 2 main elements lighting up under braking instead of just the outside element :)
  5. Recently got myself a new computer, only problem is when I try and view the forums now on it, I am getting an error message. It appears to only be when trying to go to the forum section, as other parts of TOCAU work OK. This message seems to be only present when using Google Chrome, currently I'm using IE to post this topic -.- . Interesting thing is, at work I also use Chrome (on multiple machines) and don't have an issue. This is the message I am getting; SQL ErrorAn error occured with the SQL server:mySQL query error: SELECT id, member_id, member_name, seo_name, login_type, running_time, member_group, uagent_type FROM TOCaussessions WHERE running_time > 1369653946 This is not a problem with the IPS Community Suite but rather with your SQL server. Please contact your host and copy the message shown above. ← Return to the index Has anyone else come across this Before?
  6. They are replicas of the OEM wheels that are coming on the current GT Falcon, sorry I should have posted the listing; http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/20-GT-335-20X8-5-5X114-3-FORD-FALCON-AU-BA-BF-FG-WHEELS-AND-TYRES-/290899849326?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43bafb706e&_uhb=1
  7. Those ones would look mad, in 20s espeically. Always thought BIG 5 spoke designs would look mad. Recently spotted some of these, ableit on an FG falcon, but it was dropped, in white, and looked so nice
  8. Lol, wheel whore. But as he said, how much?
  9. Good idea on the vinyl eyelids, look pretty good :) Its all coming together quite well
  10. There is an endless amount of people who say they are going to boost their Aurions and nothing ever comes of it. Maybe if I won the lottery I would sink 30k and get a kit fully engineered and working properly, and then onsell it. Because honestly if you were going to do it properly that's probably what the outlay would be which scares a lot of people away. People forget that it's not as simple as throwing a turbo on and calling it done. There's manifold work to be done, fuel system upgrades, engine management, more than likely some drivetrain strengthening if you wanted decent reliable gains. The fact that it's all going to have to be custom fabbed jacks the price up considerably, unless your handy with a welder and dynometer and have time and patience up your sleeve
  11. Nice, the black lower kit is something different, kinda works though :)
  12. Cool, I might give them a go anyway and see what happens. also another question I forgot to ask is will I need to get amber bulbs or will white ones suffice? I figured youd be the best person to ask Luke since your always hands deep in these light assemblies :P
  13. Maybe this? http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/10410-zr6-speaker-upgrade/ found in the FAQ section
  14. Welcome! Good to see another Aurion with LM's :) Love the titanium tips too
  15. Something I've also been thinking about for a while but only just had a chance to look them up, LED Indicator/Reverse light bulbs. Being that the rest of the car has already been converted from incandescent bulbs, these are the only bulbs left that haven't been. Has anyone had any experience with them in terms of their longevity and effectiveness? I will be sourcing them of course from eBay so that the outlay isn't too high in case they are a complete disaster http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1-Pair-S2...1f08a30&_uhb=1 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4-PCS-BA1...e62b08e&_uhb=1 Tail lights I'm not worried about as they appear to already have the response time of LED lights (if they aren't already LED bulbs from factory)
  16. Taking a stab in the dark here and forgetting the exhaust for a second, but hopefully its not an engine knock? If as you say its getting louder, it may indicate that somethings about to pop. Probably worth getting it looked over (and check your oil too) Hard to say without hearing it really, maybe you could post up a vid?
  17. Thats a great spreadsheet Greg :) Because when the trip computer is reset it will go off the previous range average it recorded. The range will vary depending on the type of driving you end up doing, ie highway driving will yield higher range whereas stop/start (around town) driving will generally get lower range. I've found that if you consistently do long range driving, when you reset the trip computer the default range it resets too will gradually start to climb up. Mines sitting on around 620km at the moment (and I generally get around 700k's on an economy run)
  18. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/19545-the-tocau-aurion-faq/
  19. I still think some of its inspiration came from here, just not as smoothly executed;
  20. Finally a build thread Nathan! I'll be watching this space for more :)
