  1. Got mine running so far without any dramas(V8.10.021)..Running Windows 7 Home Edition(32 Bit)....Works on both my 2001 V6 Camry and 2005 Corolla...Happy Chappy...
  2. Google RAV4 1MZ-FE free manual...They have a PDF(599 Pages long) version available.File is 25.5 Mb Trust I haven't broken any Forum rules here...
  3. Unfortunately no...They are VERY expensive and can only be obtained through Toyota dealers.. The manual runs over 200 pages so I couldn't even photocopy it for you...The car plus engine were over $150. and I still have the Camry(plus a 2005 Corolla). What I suggest is you go to one of the stores eg Supercheap. Auto one etc and get a copy of the Gregorys/Haynes manuals. These are what I got for the Corolla and find them most useful. So sorry....FYI the 1MZ-FE manual Toyota Publication No...is AC-ERM003
  4. I've got one dated July 1997 which I refer to for my 2000 V6 Camry(1MZ-FE)....How can I help?
  5. Glad you got it fixed...I'd check that section of the wiring pretty thorouhly while you're at it. Wouldn't want a fire started from a short.
  6. Looks like you may be right i.e. they don't have seperate fuses. I've just looked at an "Official" Toyota Factory Repair Manual(2 Inches thick), not the Haynes one I looked at originally and in the Body Electrictal Section all they have is this: Only on side light does not light 1.Head-(LH RH) fuse E/G Room J/B No2(This is the Fuse/Relay box you have shown.) 2.Headlight Bulb. 3. Wire Harness. No Wiring diagrams... Looks like you have a wiring harness problem. Not what you wanted to hear I bet. Could even be a dicky socket or broken wire somewhere. Sorry I can't be of more help.
  7. I checked out the workshop manual for my Camry(2001 V6) and as far as I can work out there ARE seperate fuses for the left and right side headlights and parkers..The fuseboxes(2 0f them) are located on the passengers side front of the engine bay, 1 large and 1 small, in mine anyway, but they're not hard to find.. The parkers are labelled HL-P. and are 10 amps each. Check all the fuses while your in there. I don't think your model would be much different. The headlghts are duplicated as well and when you think about it, it would not be a good idea in the case of a fault to lose all of your lights at once on a dark road. I hope this is of help
  8. Just be careful and make sure you note disassembly and reassembly sequences. otherwise it's easy.....
  9. Most likely dirty contacts in the switch. Had same problem in my 2001 camry and found the contacts were jet black with carbon.. .Reasonably easy to clean but be careful with disaassembly and reassembly..Fiddly job.
  10. If The Vin Code idea doesn't work take it to a dealer. The radio needs to come out to reset it.. Happened to me and it cost me 30 minutes at the dealers and $40....Code is now left at 0000...Who's gonna steal a factory model!!!!
  11. Have you tried going back to the dealer and ask them nicely if they can help??? They aren't all monsters....
  12. I use the seals which come in the lids of jam jars and the like. Pair of scissors and a hole punch and the jobs done. Been using this method for over twenty years and never had a leak or failure.
  13. Check out your Users Manual. They (Toyota) will tell you what grades to use and the temperature ranges for different grades etc. for all conditions. The same information is in the Toyota 1Mz-FE Workshop Manual Lubrication Section....Quote: "API Grade or SH, Energy-Conserving II Multigrade engine oil or ILSAC Multigrade".
  14. I have used only ever used "Castrol GTX(3) For Modern Engines" in my 2001 V6 in 12 years. Never had a problem. Renew filter and oil every 6 months, regardless of Kms travelled...Mine has not seen a Toyota Service centre in over 10 years, I do my own servicing..I also use the same oil in my 2005 Corolla....
  15. 69.5(2005 Hatchback)......(plus a 2001 V6 Camry)
  16. No it wouldn't, certainly with a 1995 model. I've tried one on my 2001 model and it doesn't work..I believe it will work on the more recent models. Would need someone to advise on that. Seems to me you may have damaged something more when the short occurred, such as indicator stalk contacts etc... You are going to have to take it either to a REALLY good auto electrician or Toyota themselves..
  17. I got a set(L/H & R/H) from an Auto One store(Aunger)....Try them..
  18. I too have to ask, why.. My 2005 Corolla doesn't require doing for 160,000 Km, according to the owners manual.
  19. An old trick used to be to rub soap on the working surface of the belts....Tends to quieten them down... My bad re the timing belt?chain.....Withdrawn
  20. I find the strap type as mentioned by someone else works fine..Also take the heat shield off, just give you that lttle bit of extra room..Use it on nmy Corolla as well.. Leaky oil filter, never had one..
  21. As it's now more than 3YO chances a good that Haynes/Gregory's may have one available. They will have more than enough info for home servicing....
  22. I've got a 2001 V6 Camry in which I have installed an aftermarket unit(Schneider), Plays CDs and USB flashdrives...
  23. Best bet may be to take it to your local Toyota dealer for them to reset it... As you already have it out they MIGHT not charge you. Had to do this for my Corolla, cost me $40..When you get it reset write the code down and keep it in a safe place....Default code is usually 0000..
  24. I have a 2001 Camry (V6) which I think has the same motor. I have never been able to find two drain cocks , only one on the front side, a little brass tap.. When I drain the coolant all I do is open the one I can find (at the front, and remove the bottom radiator hose at the radiator end only and that seems to work fine.
