  1. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde..._item&CID=4 Link to my old Sportivo.
  2. Yeah seen em inthe flesh. Noice. CES does all the exhaust work for Bullit. Basciallly a space frame chassis from windscreen forward which makes it easy to fit V8. MX5 is a great handling car but underpowered. What about a 2zz powered MX5??? that with a few mods(CAI, Exhaust) would be a very fun car to drive.
  3. NORTH!!!!! Look out here comes (wait for the music in your head) OLD MAN RIVER...... lol
  4. I only use Meguiars final inspection on my car maybe a day after I wash it or 2 at the absolute max. After that it gets rinsed with high pressure and wash again if the need be. waterless car wash systems also tend to leave a white residue on rubbers if you get overspray on them and it doesn't come off easily. (the ones I have had demonstrated for me by reps). I didn't say anything about it have never been a fan of it for the risks associated of doing damage. I've been detailing show cars, hot rods, street machines and vintage cars for over 15 years and haven't got the reputation i have for doing quality work and achieving results for taking short cuts. I am yet to detail a car that enters a show that hasn't won a trophy in some form or another. My old Sportivo won 13 odd trophies in just on 3 years of me owning it which is proof that proper full on care of a daily driver will yield the results and go home with the goodies....

  6. Read an article on this car sometime back in a Race mag of some sort in the newsagent. Car sounds like it was very relaible and consistent!!
  7. I think that they automatically shut themselves off once they reach a certain temp/ heat range. I have driven other toyota models that the rear demister does this on.
  8. Well then you'll be stuck with Nana's car then..... (waits for flames from DHC )
  9. ahh the 90's... are you even old enough to remember what happened in the 90's whipper snapper?? Damm young cheeky upstarts around here..... AARRGGHHH......
  10. That's right it fills the air cleaner with oil and then it sucks it into the engine so you end up with a 2 stroke type mix hence the smoke LOL. It also will foul up the plugs too so might be worth giving them a clean and regap. How much oil did you drain out of it by the way???
  11. I think carillo also do rods for 1zz. That's what CES used in the turbo 2ZZ they did. Noice looking bit of kit they were!!
  12. Try a shop that sells clutches there would be a good start. A lot of views and no replies eh? That's because there aren't that many on here from Mebourne from what I have been told...... or the cat has got their tongues
  13. Don't like nor use any of it..... Rather high pressure to remove crud then with micro fibre wash mit remove the remainder. And no scratches!!! My Sportivo was proof to this method to those who have seen it in the flesh....
  14. The only problem with car bra's is they do mark your paintwork as well. The car MUST be spotless clean also the inside of the bra. the back edge of the bra that goes across the bonnet does buffer around in the wind and moves on the car. Over longish periods it leaves a mark in the paintwork that is hard to buff out. It actually rubs on the clear long enough to generate heat and it starts to distort the clarity of the clear on the paintwork. When you remove it it will be clearly visible. Have had to spend a lot of hours doing HSV's for owners who drive around all week with them on to save the front of their car. Result is a line across the bonnet that on darker colours stands out like dogs balls and there is no easy fix to it. On one car I actually wet rubbed the area 2500 grit sandpaper then re buffed it. Wasn't 100% perfect but managed to hide it significantly.
  15. DON'T USE THINNERS UNLESS YOU WANT TO WRECK YOUR PAINT. Try some turps on a soft piece of terry towling cloth. spray it onto the glue and let it soften. then with your finger try and get the glue to ball up and remove the majority of it with your finger. Noce you have most of it off then spray if and wipe gently with the cloth to remove all residue. Once done then re polish the area and job is complete.
  16. I thought the cheap trolley jacks were hydraulic not air?? Need to do some homework there Marcus. the noise you are hearing after changing springs is because the the rubber boot that goes on the top of the spring and covers the top of the strut shaft isn't installed properly. when you turn the strut, spring and the top plate all turn as one but if the top plate and rubber isn't installed properly it will allow the spring to touch the top plate and you'll get a funny clunk noise and the spring drags on the top plate. I have done many sets of springs and have seen heaps of top plates not fitted on the strut shaft correctly down onto the stepped section of the strut shaft. They then just tighten it up and the top plate is sitting about 3-4 mm roughly higher than it should and thus the spring has less tension on it and can move. the top plate has 1 or 2 small cut outs on it(From memory) and the rubber had 1 or 2 tags on the edge. The rubber has line up with the cut outs and the lip of the rubber must also sit around the edge of the top plate as well to stop the spring from touching in any way.
  17. Camber bolts are good and give you adjustment for the reasons listed above. Lower your car and camber will change.(Top of the class to Micky!!) I modified the leg of the front struts to get camber adjustment. Camber bolts will give you about 1.5 deg negative and with my mod i could get just over 4 deg negative!! Looked tough as set and 4 deg but man your tyres wouldn't last long at all... As for the rears i have an idea and have looked a way of adjusting rear camber. Will be doing it sometime soon on a certain Sportivo in Brisbane who is willing help with the costs associated with trying it....
  18. well Pedders are kings painted red so are exactly the same with an extra coat of paint. So go kings cause they will be lighter with less paint LOL
  19. I ran super lows in the rear and low in the front to get the car to sit level. I had 215/40/17 on it and loaded(5 Adults) had no dramas at all. the offset of your wheels also will play a big part in whether or not they scrub. My sportivo handled as good as any car with coilovers(also had koni's in it) and for normal everyday driving it rode great. My wife drove the car 90% of the time and never complained about the ride at all.
  20. Can anybody afford a Toyota Motorsport Exhaust? Certainly not cheap that's for sure...
  21. Team: BMW Driver: Hamilton, Kimi Pole: Kubica Fastest: Hamilton
  22. By telling work we needed a or two day off. You could always work overtime and take some leave in lieu or join an RDO scheme and not be down any pay ;) I work in availability, so I have to plan my time away well. I'd be too shagged anyway after 2 days of long distance driving coupled with cruising in between. I'm an old man now. I suck. Harden up mate. I went to Sydney last year sick as a dog and it was wet, cold and windy all weekend(for us Qld boys blessed with great weather) and still had a good time. Get someone to come with you and share the driving. That's what I did cause I was almost too sick to drive. Big thanks to Azza for the drive LOL yet again.
  23. another Nebo run is on the cards for the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned!!
  24. Guys it will be a great weekend guaranteed!!!! Last year we went to Sydney through and friggen Cyclone type storm and then it just about rained all weekend but we still had heaps of fun. If you can make it it will be worthwhile. National meet committee is meeting tuesday night to to put the finishing touches and other stuff together for the weekend. You will see the majority of the great sights that Brissy has to offer as well as the Gold Coast!!
  25. CES are putting the final touches on the CAI prototype and next step is some back to back testing. CAI on the 152's is a bit more complex than on the previous 122/3 models henc a bit more time in the ol' desgin area to make it work. As for the exhaust CES will also look into designing something similiar to the 122/123 models. Price for cat back will also be relatively similiar as well.
