  1. I'd say there wouldn't be all that much demand for stickers on that model vehicle. If it were a Landcruiser there are many options. Perhaps you could go to a Toyota dealership and see if they have anything in their archives. This is all I can think of unless you can approach someone with the same model vehicle and ask to grab a photo of theirs. I know it's frustrating but I wish you well in this search.
  2. It would be better if the manufacturers made them in sizes that help us. The price for the 10L is great but you'll still be short that litre or two so you'll end up having to spend more to save. Kind of defeats the purpose and is very frustrating. 10lt drums are a waste for most. Why don't they market a 12lt for example I wonder ??
  3. Super Cheap are having a 40% off sale on their Gulf Western and Shell brand oils among other things till the 15th July. https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/7-day-deals?prefn1=activePromos&prefv1=Oils%2C Fluids %26 Filters&prefn2=srgBrand&prefv2=Shell|Gulf Western&j=4495011&sfmc_sub=822401467&sub=206595815_SCA01_CRP&l=333_HTML&u=92940769&mid=6010680&jb=1358&utm_source=email-subscriber&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=au-sca-2021-wk02-7dd#main
  4. Yep, and it's not necessary either. You have to apply the power in a linear fashion, especially front wheel drive cars.
  5. Yes Ashley, very important and something that can be done relatively quickly while you have it apart. I applied the bendix grease if you recall a while back when I did my fronts. That reminds me, I have to inspect my front pads again soon as they are getting close to the end. FYI https://www.bendix.com.au/bendix-news/bendix-ceramasil-brake-parts-lubricant-0
  6. I totally agree. If you have a sympathetic right foot and drive gently, especially taking off, great economy can be had. The V6 has a beautiful, silky smooth nature to it and you don't need to bury your foot to get it going. Just a gentle tap and it's off. Let the torque do the rest.
  7. The Super Cheap Auto article was very interesting. I wasn't aware of the Galvanic reaction measured on volts. I'll have to try this too. Thanks Bertil. ( Lord Bug. Haha love that Moniker )
  8. Nice one Big Mike. There's nothing better than a refreshed brake system. Regarding the dust, I have the same problem at present with the bendix pads, which is why I have the Remsa pads ready to go when my Bendix are ready for replacement. The beauty of the Remsa pads is that they don't produce much dust at all and perform as good if not better than the Bendix.
  9. Hey BigMike, could the cruise control be contributing to your diminished fuel economy ? I never use it to be honest.
  10. Hey Adrian, sorry to hear you had to go through all that, but at least it's fixed now and should be good for a very long time. I did suspect the alternator and am a little bit surprised it had failed on a 2013 car. It's not really that old either. Perhaps some contamination had entered the alternator ? When I wash my engine bay I always cover mine with a plastic bag to keep it dry, not to say that this is what occurred in your case. Just saying. Is it possible that the alternator can ingest moisture when driving through rain ?. Not sure how much of it would be subject to the incoming air stream nor have I inspected mine after having driven in rainy conditions. Maybe the lacquer on the windings was a little thin in some spots or the reg just gave up. How much did you pay for a replacement alternator ? Did you get a new one or 2nd hand ?
  11. I don't have a Presara so this is kind of new to me. So what you're saying is that if you replace the battery, you need to then re initialise the afs ? So did the procedure work ?
  12. You really don't give much background info here but Have a read of this
  13. Hi Dominic and welcome to the forum. Are the headlights aftermarket by any chance ?
  14. Hello and welcome John. You have a very nice vehicle there. I had the opportunity to drive a couple of different model Klugers and they were all fantastic. Very comfortable indeed. I hope she gives you many years of trouble free motoring and you enjoy your stay here. All the best mate
  15. Hi Mark, Yes the headlight protectors will protect, but only from stone chips unfortunately. They are still exposed to UV which oxidizes the plastic causing them to fade and go hazy. The best cure is prevention, but as we need to drive our cars they are mostly exposed and we have to polish them back up periodically. I also apply a sealant coat which also protects them from UV.
  16. I also noted some surface rust on the hook sections. Interesting link too. My Colorado has the newer beam style blades and they seem to function very well. I might try these on the Aurion too when the time comes. Thanks for the link Ash.
  17. I suspect you are correct. Looks like it's stuck in the advance position indicating the controller isn't functioning. Is it possible it may be sludged up ? Would be interesting to hear the outcome. I think there would be several factors at play with this issue. I must say, I've never had this issue or any of the symptoms with my car and am surprised that several of you have. I wonder if the problem was exacerbated by the use of incorrect oil and weight by the dealerships in the early stages of the car's history. Yep. Me too. Did you see the post of the guy with the taxi who's car had like 430, 000 kays on the clock ! Wow.
  18. Wow ! Now that's totally ludicrous. Looks like a dealership living up to the "stealership" reputation. The "goodwill" part is them having you over a barrel with interest.
  19. Really ? Vacuum operated engine mounts ? How would you know if it is defective ?
  20. Out of all the non ceramic protectants, the 303 is by far the best solution, even it is a semi permanent one. It will eventually wash off and need re coating which is fine again. The "waste of time" products would be the likes of turtle wax, Armor all etc. They put a greasy film over the faded plastic and does nothing but accentuate how faded the plastic is and as soon as it rains or the car gets washed, it's gone, and it looks as bad as it did before. The Aerospace 303 has a tendency to cling and penetrate, which is what you really need, but will require it to soak and then subsequent reapplications. This Cera trim is a solution which not only penetrates into the porous plastic, but bonds to the surfaces and creates a seal over the top so it can last up to 12 to 18 months so they say. It's received nothing less than a five star review so far. That's pretty impressive. Just waiting on an opportunity to test it out and will definitely post up my results when I can. https://thelastcoat.com/products/ceratrim-ceramic-powered-trim-restorer-8-oz
  21. All good Geoff. Thanks for that. As I hadn't crossed the path of fuel filter replacement on my 50, I wasn't sure if in fact both 40 and 50 shared the same set up as they do other parts. I was seeing on ebay fuel filters as being listed to suit 40 series cars and no 50 series prompting my original question. I assumed they might just be the same because many other parts are. I was wrong as it turns out. The 50 is different and more expensive. Go figure.
  22. I'd like to welcome you too Howard. King off the road, as Lawsie used to say. Best off road vehicle ever made and great value. Hopefully the borders open soon and you can get out there and enjoy your time in the bush. Stay in touch and ask plenty of questions. All the best mate
  23. Haha, I drive like that too Ashley. I have to ask though, back on the subject of suspension, what condition are your bushes in ? I think I'd start with replacing all the bushes before doing the shocks or perhaps just do the whole lot when the time comes. I'm on the hunt for a decent press to have on hand and have all the appropriate tools ready to be able to carry out this work. Doesn't seem like a hard job, just a bit fiddly i reckon and maybe some cursing in there for good measure too
  24. Hi Gents, There's a company in America called "The Last Coat". They make a range of decent products and Cera Trim is one of their products that caught my attention. I'm not in favour of products that just put an oily coat on plastic to give them the appearance of being new and then washes off at the hint of rain. I have been looking into products that actually restore, protects and last a decent amount of time too. I will post back my results when I get the opportunity. The main offender on modern cars is the wiper scuttle panel ( what I call it anyway) which gets sun beaten. I plan to remove mine and apply this product. Not only does it restore the colour, it actually puts a layer of Ceramic coating over it and seals it. The water beads speak for themselves.
