  1. Hi Jeremy, you shouldn't have a problem with compatibility as the two are from the same generation. The 2013 tray is the same for both models you describe. The only changes were tail light cosmetics and after 2005 they only changed from the smooth top edges to the counter sunk hooks for the tonneau cover. There is no way Toyota would re tool and change the design for the same Gen car. Hope that helps.
  2. Get yourself (ad-blocker) Robert. It's an extension you can add to Chrome and it will block all those very, very, very annoying ads that always pop up during videos. I've been blissfully ad free for many years now. Pan is a genuine bloke. He won't plug an item if he doesn't think it's good. He even mentioned this point in one of his videos, that he gets sent lots of products and most have been rubbish and he'd never waste his time talking about them. So pretty much the products you've seen him discuss and demonstrate on video are worthy of our attention. I have purchased several products based on his recommendation. Sponsor plugs really annoy me. It's always about junk you don't want or need. Another way Youtubers sell their souls to the devil as they start coming up in the world. Money, power, control and not necessarily in that order. Just waiting for 303 Graphene to come here.... We're always the last to get anything in Australia unfortunately because the products are mainly U.S. made and the yanks always get first bite till it catches on elsewhere. I have contacted a few suppliers here and one shocked me by saying, "well if it is a popular product then we will think about bringing it in". Are you kidding me ?? The 303 Graphene sold out in 24hrs of the first day of it's release... Hello ? Made me laugh.
  3. Glad to hear you're happy and it all worked out for you Luke. It's money well spent I reckon. Everything adds up into a nice package and you've improved it both cosmetically and safety wise. Lowered cars will occasionally give adverse reactions over the bad sections of road but that's a small price to pay. Look forward to hear what they find with your castor issue there. Well done mate
  4. Thanks Big Mike. Nothing wrong with doing the service at 70k, in fact I've heard some say to do it even earlier. I probably should've done mine a bit earlier but as you read in my report, it wasn't in bad condition so just goes to show that the transmission can go unserviced outside of the usual schedule if the car hasn't been flogged. I can't recall what the schedule is off the top of my head, but I think it's like every 40K after the initial service. Some who have only done the pan drain will do an annual pan drain, but because I did a full flush, the next service will be a pan drain.
  5. It's a little different for everyone but I would safely assume if the transmission fluid temperature is within the specified range and the vehicle is dead level it shouldn't be too difficult to get the correct level. I went with 42.5 exactly. Whoever you ask, they will all give you a different answer. Nothing absolutely concrete though. It's funny though, the service bulletin calls for an additional 200ml after fluid level has been performed correct ? The U.S based Youtubers don't mention this at all and they have the same U660E transmission. I'd rather lean on the side of the bulletin and follow the recommendation.
  6. It's prudent to watch as many videos as possible to get a broad cross section of information. You will tend to take something from them all and then be able to form your own step by step procedure. I can't recall how many I watched, but having done so really gave the confidence to tackle this fiddly job. I don't think it matters if it's a slow trickle Ash as we have to add the extra 200ml anyway according to the bulletin. I didn't hear any mention of him adding the 200ml (did I miss something perhaps ?) and that leads me to think that he opted to plug it when the fluid "started" to slow to a trickle. Those ML's of fluid retained not allowing the fluid to slow to a trickle is the 200ml we'd otherwise have put back in. He made a good point in saying to re check the fluid level after about a week just to make sure. Easy for him to say when he has those quick jacks 😄 To get the car level again takes ages and is a frustrating thing to do. But, in saying this, I should do this. Love to get those quick jacks, very pricey though. Maybe I'll stick to the old fashioned way for now. That's why doing your research is extremely important. Going into this blind, thinking you know everything, is dangerous.
  7. Thanks Robert. I agree totally. It's a refinement process I think. As new products come onto the market, well at least the ones I'm aware of, give us the choice whether or not it can be beneficial. Agree here too mate. I've been following Pan since his very first video and he always takes the time to answer my questions despite how many he gets. He's a true Gentleman and the fame hasn't swelled his head like most others I've seen. Those of which I have unsubscribed to. We built their channels with our subs, likes and views and their heads swell like it's no tomorrow. Sorry, not for me. I have pulled many of my subs as a result. Very sad to see humility disappear as soon as the huge monetisation rolls in and from beaters to Lamborghinis they go. I'm also tired of those channels that have the long intros, and the ten minutes it takes to get to the point, and not to mention the sponsor plugs. All this is really designed to make the videos a certain length to capitalise on the ad revenue for the Boss man. The actual content is the secondary bit unfortunately.
  8. I was a little bored today and with my OCD-ness I decided to use Cera Trim on the Nano iBrid plastic section of the machine to not only try out the product but to lay down a ceramic based protection to keep it from staining or other possible chemical contamination. I love to preserve things as best I can as you all know. I purchased some sponge brushes off Ebay as these have the wooden handles, tapered tips and allow ease of application. The Cera Trim formula is in a gel form and you don't really need all that much to put a layer down. Since the iBrid is new, there was no cleaning required, just a quick wipe down and it was ready for the application. The instructions calls for an even application, allow to stand for around 20 mins and then buff off the residue. This allows the product to penetrate the pores of the plastic and form a tight bond. After I wiped off the residue with a microfibre cloth, you could see the deeper lustre it has laid down and it feels very slick indeed so it will look like it will be ok. Full cure time is 24 hours for this product. While I had the sponge brush loaded with product I decided to do my keyboard too lol.. Gave it a quick wipe down with isopropyl alcohol, brushed out the crevices of all the dust accumulation and gave it a coat, let it stand and buffed off. I must say this stuff is pretty amazing. Keyboard looks like new again and my keys are so slippery it makes typing so much nicer. So all in all you can literally use this stuff on anything plastic. Doesn't have to be auto related. These Pics are the before shots. These Pics are the after shots. Definitely has a nice low sheen lustre to it. Naked, untreated plastic tends to look dry and after applying the coating you can see and feel the nourishment and protection such a product gives. I'm pretty amazed how good the modern day products are.
  9. Have you had a look in your owner's manual ? I'd tend to think that it should have some kind of reference to it there. Google search yields almost nothing either, but I suspect that such a pump would be in a similar position for other diesels, in which stated "The pump lies after the exhaust manifold and before the catalytic converter" Take a look under there, I'm sure you'll find it. Good luck and if you do find it perhaps post up some pics so others can benefit from this post Cheers mate
  10. That's pretty much what I do when I do my tyre shining, minus the drink lol. I'll do the parts that are reachable, pack everything away and tidy up, then I reposition my car and finish those little bits. I couldn't be bothered with the jack.
  11. Haha yeah, It can be kind of hypnotic sometimes. Has a calming effect. I had a late call out yesterday afternoon and 5 minutes into my journey on the M7 it bucketed down and never used the wipers once. The rain just blasted over the roof and was still able to see ahead of me. That's the beauty of coating the windscreen.
  12. Actually it was Robert. I had seen it before this on a different video and when I saw Pan's promo video, it reminded me that I should get one. It will make wheel/tyre cleaning and detailing much easier than having to man handle the thing. The old adage of work smart not hard seems to be the order as I get older..
  13. I'll try and dig up some photos I have somewhere here. Pre digital camera era too lol.
  14. I also service my Dad's 2013 Aurion. so when I stock up it's for two cars. If at the end I have spares I'll either sell or give them away. It's all good. UPDATE I won't be servicing Dad's Aurion anymore as they have relocated to Queensland.
  15. The only ones I buy. Spend a bit more and get ones that will last for many, many years. The Taktix boxes are sturdy and strong and come in a range of sizes to suit your application. Measure your space and see what box will be best for you.
  16. Hi gents, I was inspired by a video I saw the other day and I had to get one of these. It's a tyre/wheel dolly that allows you to rotate the wheel whilst performing some kind of work on it. It allows you to keep it in one spot and it simply rotates on the rollers as you do. It actually for a Motorcycle but it can also be used for car wheel/tyres too. Not expensive at all and makes doing my wheel cleaning a lot easier. Next time I do my wheels I'll get some photos.
  17. Since this attempt at replacing my fuel filter, I have been keeping an eye on these fuel filters for the 50 Series Aurion. As you all may recall, Ryco don't make one for the 50 and there is only ONE aftermarket company (Wesfil) who seems to have the monopoly on manufacturing this item for 50 series owners. So it's either Genuine Toyota, which is very very expensive or the Wesfil. Mind you, of the two Ebay sellers of the Wesfil product, one has them for over three times what I paid for mine originally and the other had them for a little cheaper than what I paid originally. Go figure. I contacted the cheaper guy and he gave me a deal for 4 items with free delivery. I couldn't resist so I thought I'd future proof myself and stock up in the Tony Prodigy way. So now I have 5 in stock to keep me going for a long time. One less thing to worry about.. Also decided to stock up on oil filters too, so I purchased another 3 boxes and be done with this too. Tick and Tick.
  18. Since my recent K&N filter purchase and the somewhat negative reviews I been reading, I decided to seek out some OEM filters and managed to get a pretty good deal on Wesfil and AcDelco Air filters. I bulk purchased so I could lock in a better price and overall I am pretty satisfied with my this lot. Won't have to worry about Air Filters for a while. The AcDelco type have a two beads of glue running along the pleats, something I haven't noticed this before. Interesting though the Aurion Air Filters are also used in some GM cars.
  19. Yes G it is very visible. It shoots out a cluster of Laser dots. Not sure if you can adjust this to a single point as I haven't played with the settings as yet, but it is a nice feature I thought. So the pics show one shot at a distance of around 4-5m and one closer at around 1.5m. I have since contacted the seller and they are waiting to hear back from their supplier on stock. I'll let you all know if they come back if you're interested in purchasing one.
  20. Yeah, I'd tend to believe this. I guess the 'specials' are at the companies discretion. It's up to us to do our homework.
  21. It's also a lot less painful when paying for the stuff too.. That will do it for sure. As soon as the fuel warning light comes on, you still have a decent amount and some have even reported getting another 100 kays, but I'd never push it that far gee whiz.. If you want your fuel pump to last, the lowest I'd go is a quarter tank.
  22. This seems to be the order of the day with many people. You have no idea how many people "sleep walk" around the place. If it's that important and it can't wait, stop for a minute get it over with, put the stupid thing back in your pocket and be on your merry way. Heck, it may even save your life ! Now there's a thought
  23. Here's something funny.. Engine Shampoo.. For the fussy detailer who wants his engine clean on the inside as well as the outside
