  1. I've never used this one personally but I have a friend who does and it's fine. It's quick and easy to apply and doesn't sling. Never used this either, but I do it's a low sheen product, so if your after that wet look, this one won't satisfy. If you found it to be slingy, maybe let it set overnight and see if this helps. I won't go out of my way to but this one, but if I have it, the only use I have for it is the tyres and nothing else. I've had some freebies in the past and they've served me well when i'd run out of my usual stuff I use. If you're thinking of using the Meguiars tyre Gel, I think you'll also be disappointed. It gives you a matt finish and you need to lap it on heavy for it to be able to penetrate. Sometimes you will have to even apply a second coat. The tyre needs to be warm to hot for best results. You need the pores to open up for the product to soak in. It slings too. I've got myself a new tyre shine product I have yet to try and test. I'll do a reveal in the detailing section when i've finished and report back for you guys. Keep an eye out. Should be interesting.
  2. Love any inline 6. We used to play with the old Falcon/Cortina 4.1 LT crossflow engines back in the day and they were a dream to work on too. The guy in the video was lucky he was working on a rear wheel drive Lexus so his banks were easily accessible. Love to see him do this on an Aurion lol ! I bet it would be an engine out job for sure.
  3. Yeah, Me too. This was the result of a service bulletin in America I believe. It is possible the 2GR-FE is built to a differing standard for the various parts of the world because I've never heard of such a thing for the Aussie Aurion V6.
  4. That was the title of the video, but upon watching it, it actually illustrates the replacement of the valve springs instead, not the 'seal' per say. I assume the uploader may have a language barrier and calls a valve spring a valve 'seal ' perhaps ? Regardless, what a job !
  5. That's bizarre. I swear on my life it was $89.99. They must have changed it back. I wished I screenshot it.
  6. I clicked on that link yesterday and it was $19.99. Just this very moment, I thought to click and take another look and you won't believe it, they've jacked it back up to $89.99. Too late if you're thinking to go this morning. Black Friday it seems, turns into Bloody Sunday.
  7. Haha, that trusty wheel alignment going off business on the front. Mine tends to go out more on the left. When they make the adjustments during a wheel alignment I'm suspecting they don't do the nuts up tight enough or something. Seems like an ongoing issue.
  8. Where did this Black Friday Malarkey come from anyway ?? Just like this Halloween rubbish we have here now. Never used to be until we decided we needed to copy everything the Americans do. How original Black Friday Sales are all fake. I have carefully watched a few vendors prices in the lead up to the so called "sales" and have found they actually jack the prices up then splash out the big marketing discount hype to make you think you're getting a bargain. What a load of hogwash.
  9. If you have someone trustworthy over there who can facilitate the sale then EFT the money to your account here. Perhaps send it over in smaller transactions. I'm not familiar with international money transaction rules and I don't think there would be any tax implications if you can prove the money came from the sale of a personal possession. Do some research on it and see what you can find.
  10. If you sell yours for say 10K are you also adding your $25K or is it a total of $25K ? If $25K is your budget, you could go as far as a 2010 model give or take depending on what level it is. I'd recommend carsales
  11. Hi Ash, This is a tough one. A 2005 Prado here is worth somewhere between 9k-15k depending on condition and equipment level. Not knowing the condition of yours makes it hard to assess the viability. You say it's been on Safaris, does it mean the vehicle has had a hard life ? What are Prados worth in South Africa ? Is it worth the stress of having it put on a ship, risk it getting damaged in transit, deal with customs, quarantine etc etc only to find that it would be much easier to just buy another one here ? I'd probably lean towards selling the one you have back home and put the funds towards another. If the car has sentimental value then that's a whole new ball game. I wouldn't be too sentimental about a Prado to be honest, they are a dime a dozen, i'm sure you'll get a really nice vehicle for a third of your stated budget. I wish you all the best with your endeavours .
  12. Whatever makes you happy mate. It is fun modifying cars, I know this very well mainly because my wife drives our car and modding it is a complete waste of time and money. She could care less so why bother. Much prefer to keep it well maintained to keep it safe and reliable. I already have a performance car on the side so this satisfies my need for excitement.
  13. You can definitely see some of the styling cues from this Avalon and the latest gen Camry. I don't think our market is receptive enough to welcome another "sedan" car which is why they killed of the Avalon and now the Aurion and condensed it into one offering, The Camry with the V6 option. It will be very sad if they ditch the V6 in favour of a turbo 4. I really don't want a turbo car. I much prefer naturally aspirated V6 goodness and reliability. I hope Toyota don't screw us this way.
  14. Good stuff Luke. Glad it all went well. I think I'm a little behind the times, but what all this permit business about ? Never heard of such a thing.
  15. Hard to say without too much history George. Welcome to the forum by the way.. Petrol Landcruisers were always a thirsty beast and when you say it's much worse, how much worse ? What else did you get for your service besides what you said ? Was there a fuel filter replacement in there too ? Have you checked your tyre pressures lately ? Low tyre pressure can add rolling resistance to an already heavy vehicle and will affect fuel economy.
  16. I really wish we had these cars too. I'd seriously consider buying one. I absolutely love the interior design. Ah, that Toyota Quality oozing everywhere. Styling isn't bad either and the exhaust note is very nice too. The guy in this video talks a bit too fast but good video nonetheless. When he says TRD it sounds like "Tierdee" 😄
  17. Yes, vinegar will also work but will need several applications to dissolve those stubborn spots. Anything of an acidic nature will help break down the mineral deposits. Prevention is always better though, but I know it's not always practical. To have raw, unprotected glass is asking for trouble which is why I always advocate for something or anything that you can put down on the glass to make it as hydrophobic as possible so the water doesn't have time to 'cling' and 'dwell' on the surface. Foe best protection, I would always recommend a ceramic coating on your glass for the best protection. Wait until 303 Graphene spray coat hits our distributors. That product will be the game changer. Comes in a easy to use spray and can be used on virtually every part of your car, from paint, plastics, trim, wheels, and glass. I can't wait !
  18. Haha, I've seen that video. He did a great job in the presentation of the bike. Very funny too. That bike in the video is actually a 2001 E2 bike. I have the exact same one funnily enough. Best colour combo. The F bikes were the last of the ZX9R's. Sad to see them go but it only adds to their collectability to be honest. Excellent low mileage bikes are fetching top dollar now. I always monitor bikesales. It is a very underrated bike because all the fanboys followed the Honda CBR 900's, Yamaha R1's of the time and most failed to see the overall excellentness of this machine. Definitely one of my personal favourites. I had a 94 B1 model for twelve years and now I have a pristine 2001 E2 tucked away in storage. Prices have started to creep up now, yes, he was right in saying that. A lot of guys like myself who grew up on old school bikes want them back. Here's a few pics of mine. https://i.imgur.com/FcQ6x1b.jpg https://i.imgur.com/mB43yxw.jpg https://i.imgur.com/naoTy29.jpg https://i.imgur.com/od8X1Wg.jpg https://i.imgur.com/5upGHX0.jpg https://i.imgur.com/6R4ne9A.jpg
  19. I agree here too. Any car can benefit from modifications, but it's the law of diminishing returns that should have you ask yourself, when is enough, enough ? If you have the money to burn, I say more power to you, but not for an Aurion. I'd pick something else more exciting, preferably rear wheel drive.
  20. I know, it is quite ridiculous actually. I know it's good oil, so is Penrite, so is Nulon, so is Shell, so is Castrol, so is Valvoline, so are many, many others. It doesn't justify the stupid price tag. Motul is the only oil I've used in my bikes.
  21. Motorcycles are king of the road. My old ZX9R Ninja was a pretty quick bike and I had many like yourself who would want to test me. They all lost Royally 🤣
  22. Yep, definitely use this too. I used moly grease because it was on my shelf and didn't have anything else on the day. Seems to be working just fine.
