  1. Car Care Products or waxit.com.au both in Melbourne Prices may vary slightly but these two have what you need. Just choose what size you want Tommy. You won't be sorry mate. One of the best rubber/plastic protectants ever made. I like to spray it on and leave to soak in overnight and then the next day you can lightly go over the harder surfaces with a clean microfibre cloth. Don't worry too much if you get some on the painted areas. It's non greasy and doesn't leave that typical residue you find with those other cheap and nasty brands. Just use a damp microfibre towel on the painted surfaces and it will come up perfectly.
  2. Do you mean the o-ring on the drain stick because I've seen videos where some have them and others don't. I guess I'll know if mine has one when I remove it.
  3. Yep. Everyone who I've spoken too regales me with their story I am soooo looking forward to doing this at 180K
  4. Did you do a flush as opposed to a pan drain ?
  5. You prompted me to check mine again because I remember never seeing anywhere where it says "replace" the fluid. Only "Inspect" If I remember correctly, Auto trans fluid was scheduled to be replaced every 60 or 70k right ?? I believe That used to be the norm Ash until they came up with this lifetime fluid Malarkey These are the pages from my service book.
  6. I have one of these on the way, hopefully receive it next week some time. I also didn't realise that the 40 and 50 series air filters are different too. Lucky I checked before purchase. K&N for 2006 to 2011 P/N 33-2355 K&N for 2012 to 2017 P/N 33-2443
  7. Mine's on around 120K with the original transmission fluid in there still. Admittedly, our Aurion has had an easy life. It's never ever thrashed, or driven hard. I can honestly say too that I've never floored the accelerator either. You just don't have to. It goes amazingly quick with just a light tap. So in saying that, I am looking forward to seeing the condition of the fluid when I do my service. I have to plan a weekend to be able to carry this out. I'll definitely report back on this.
  8. Love your attention to detail. Upgrading the factory speakers is always a good thing as long as you can find the right combination of fitment and sound quality. I would hate having to drill holes to make them fit. Much prefer drop in replacements if possible. Are the Focal speakers a drop in ?
  9. Haha yeah, I know that feeling. Instant justification right there. I don't think the markings will wash away all that easy. Not sure what kind of substance the markers use but I assume it's quite durable. Just give the engine bay a spritz of mild APC and pressure wash carefully. Should be fine. I like to spray the engine bay with an aqua wax whilst wet as a drying aid, mainly to the painted surfaces, engine bay, under the bonnet, rad support and whatever hard plastic, then whilst blow drying all the nooks and crannies, mop up the trickles with my drying towel. After it's all dry I spray 303 Aerospace protectant on all the soft hoses, serpentine belt, and plastics to nourish and protect them. The aerospace will last for many months. I like to re coat every 6 months. Nice to have the original parts always, wherever possible. It's a no brainer really if it's not that much more than aftermarket. Certainly does pay to research and shop around. Nothing new in Sydney either. Same old, same old. Work, home, work , home. I don't go out all that much except to Bunnings or the shops if I need something and the occasional SCA trip when they have decent specials on.
  10. You hit the nail on the head Robert. When I wash my cars, it's a pleasurable experience for me. Some might think I'm quite mad saying that but it's true. It is, as you say, heartwarming to be able to not only clean it properly, but to also apply the protection too. Ceramics do have their place, but for me I'd prefer to be able to apply and re apply a sealant or topper the easiest way possible. Ceramic coatings, due to their expensive price, needs to have the paint prepped from start to finish. Chemical decontamination, fallout, clay bar, machine polish, IPA wipe and THEN apply. You also need an enclosed space, which is clean, well lit and allow to cure. If I had that kind of garage, I'd happily try it out, but I don't. So for me, products that can provide the same level of protection with ease of application always get my nod of approval. This graphene stuff is a true game changer. I will still use my polymer sealants, waxes etc as I love the finish they provide along with the water beading properties. I have three different cars I can try three different systems and combinations. I will have to find out a little more about product compatibility with the graphene to see If it's possible to put a sacrificial layer of wax over the top. Collinite 845 Insulator wax is one of favourite waxes. Lasts around a month or two, but the glow it provides is outstanding along with the water beading properties. I still haven't used my P&S Beadmaker either ( sorry Ash, kinda slipped through the cracks. Will get to it soon) So many products and possible combinations to figure out. When I do, I will let you all know.
  11. Looks like a nightmare trying to access that tensioner access panel with the engine in the car. If it ever needed attention it would be an engine out job no ? I don't think I've ever heard of an Aurion with a serious timing chain issue anyway. Failures can occur, but gee whiz that would have to be very rare I would think.
  12. Suspension is a tricky thing to get right. You can spend thousands and still not get the feel you want. It's too much of a head ***k for me. I prefer it standard to be honest. It's just right the way it is. The only upgrade I would make is stiffer sway bars, that's all I think it could benefit from.
  13. Yep indeed Robert. I think those who are quick to judge do so at their own peril. It shows their ignorance more than anything. I like to research things out before I dive in, especially when I report them here. I trust Pan's judgement, and when a new product comes out, I always watch his videos first. His video with the Top Dog Chemist was very interesting and it needed to be long as it dealt with the whole spectrum of analysis. I'm so excited about this stuff. Did you also notice the bottle he was using was called "launch Edition". I doubt we will get that version here.Only the Elites in the game were given these as a sample to use and test and provide content. The main distributor in the U.S goldeagle.com literally sold out in 24hrs. Sold like hot cakes !!
  14. Quick update: Just got word from one supplier that they are looking at Jan-Feb 2021 for them to stock. I look forward to this immensely !
  15. Hi Gents, I am very excited about a new product that has been released by 303 and it's a new incarnation of paint sealant/protectant similar to ceramic coating but on a whole new level. The chemistry behind this product is truly amazing and for those who love to geek out on chemistry and science this one is for you too. So the new product is called 303 Graphene Nano Spray Coat. It has already been released in the U.S and it was literally completely sold out in 24 hrs !! You CANNOT get it anywhere at the moment until they restock. Forget about getting it here for now as it's not even hit the radar yet. Like everything else in Australia, we're always the last to get anything and I've already contacted several detailer suppliers and asked if and when will it be arriving here. You can view these videos below to get an understanding of Graphene technology and how this will be a game changer in the detailing world. I take my hat off to 303, the last people in the world I would've expected to come up with a product like this, they not only successfully engineered a new product from scratch, but have completely knocked it out of the park. My respect for this company has risen ten fold now and I cannot wait to get my hands on this stuff. Update: 303 Graphene Nano Spray is readily available in Australia. Car Care products and your usual auto parts outlets stock it now.
  16. I'm not surprised to hear that there are a lot of people out there who assume the Aurion has a timing "belt". They probably have been accustomed to cars with belts and the need to replace them at 100,000 kays. It is when they find out they actually have a "chain" that they are pleasantly surprised. Do the Camry 4 cyl engines have a belt, just out of curiosity ??
  17. Excellent advice guys. If I HAD to lower a 50 series, I wouldn't go any less than 30mm to be honest, even then you will still have to be ultra careful of kerbing etc. The factory specified height is set for an overall mix of ride, comfort and to a degree handling, but also important to be able to clear the kerbs when parking nose in or tail in. The over hang needs clearance too.
  18. Hi Michael and welcome to the forum. The Sportivo appears to have the same ride height as the ATX and Presara of 145mm. Despite the ATX and Presara sharing the same rolling diameter of their wheel/tyre combo, the Sportivo, although having the 45 series tyre on an 18 inch wheel would most likely put it's tyre height at a very similar height and hence having the same ride height as the other two. Despite this, Toyota definitely stiffened the springs on the Sportivo but in terms of it being lower than standard, it actually isn't. Have a read of THIS I found this listing for King Springs and the three lowered spring options are "low" 30mm, "Super Low" 40-50mm and "Ultra Low" 70mm. You could also contact a suspension specialist and see what they know about the Sportivo in particular, but I'd put money on it that he'd tell you the same thing.
  19. I agree. Time to refresh whatever you can in there while it's up on the hoist and have it apart. Have him lube the idler pulleys too. The bearings have a tendency to dry out and squeak as well. https://www.motor.com/magazinepdfs/102012_13.pdf
  20. I doubt it's a Genuine Toyota Part for that money. Did he say it was Genuine Toyota or a "Genuine" water pump. ~Around $170 could wind up being $250 even. I'd get some more clarification on that.
  21. Bummer. You'd be wrong in thinking Genuine Parts won't be much more than after market. More than double and in some cases triple the price ! I think it's not necessarily the amount of kays, it's the amount of heat cycles the engine gets which will ultimately dictate the lifespan of these pumps and any other pumps for that matter. If it's still the original, I think it's done its time. 22. I knew I forgot something. Get yourself a decent leather cleaning brush If you already don't have one. Typically some purchase the rectangular ones, but these are no good for getting into the tight spots. These ones pictured are from Gyeon also and the tapered points are very handy indeed. I highly recommend these over the plain rectangular ones.
  23. Hey Robert. Yes Sir, It certainly was. It's GYEON Q2 Leather Shield. If I recall I purchased it from Car Care Products. It's priced very competitively and does an amazing job. It goes a long way too. It's only 50ml right, and I was able to a large 3 seater, a 2.5 seater and 2 single recliners with 2 coats not 1 and these 3 steering wheels and I still have some left, probably enough to do another ten steering wheels Regarding the cleaner, It's pretty cheap so I just used the same branded cleaner. I got the "strong" cleaner because you can always water it down if you don't need it to be that strong and it will go a lot further. The same cleaner I have I also used to clean my above lounge suite etc and it's just over half way still. I would recommend watering it down if you do get the strong cleaner. You can dispense a third or half in another sprayer and fill it water and shake. That will still clean very well. If you don't want to go this route, you can always use a mild mix of APC (all purpose cleaner) start with a 10 % mix and try it on a small spot before diving in. I think I've covered everything here, hopefully. Let me know if you need anything else.
  24. Thanks mate. I suspect you haven't used ceramic coating yet ? If not, I can say that Ceramic coating will not affect the look or the feel of the leather and will also keep your leather soft and will be super hydrophobic which means liquids and harsh chemicals will bead up and roll off instead of soaking and damaging the leather. The leather will feel exactly the same. The Main Benefits of this type of coating: Excellent Durability Easy Clean Super Hydrophobic Effect Excellent Weather Resistance UV Resistance Factory look & Feel Prevents colour transfer from clothing. Leather creams are really not that good in doing the above-mentioned and can be ok for older dried out leather that needs some revitalization. The prevention is always better than the cure in most cases. Get to it while it's still good. If you ceramic coat your leather according to the manufacturer recommendation, you'll never have leather issues in my opinion.
  25. Nice one Tommy. The yellowed coolant bottle would've bothered me even if it wasn't cracked. The new one looks really nice. I love that fresh look. it complements an already neat engine bay. Excellent
