  1. I'd also be checking www.toyotanation.com as well mate... they have lots of dudes from the states that have this info no doubt.
  2. From memory... around a 70L tank? the 1MZFE 3.0L engine should get you around 550-600km a tank... 650km on main roads and stuff. Each engine's different really... the better they're looked after, the more you'll get outta it. The V6s love 98 octane fuel... quite noticeable after a couple of tanks. As long as you run some fuel system cleaner, keep the tyres pumped up and keep the car maintained, then you should be good for 600km a tank. Can't comment too much on the 2AZs unfortunately.
  3. Sorry Addy... lol, was referring to "A" aka STYLSH or Anthony... lol
  4. Hmmmmmmmmmm... I always wondered how those TRD chargers fit to the 3VZs...
  5. It's great havin a "hub" in the US to get stuff if ever need be...
  6. Ahh yes... A... sounds very much like your car LOL mind you, this wasn't your car... I still shotgun a spin in ya car on next cruise!
  7. Hell, none of us have seen anything like that before... and I've seen quite a few Camrys :P ahha Jap Spec Cams... have only seen one here in Australia. Was an old dude though... dunno if he even knew it was JDM...
  8. Agreeing with Anthony on that one... These cars have nice engines. Not bad output for a V6 honestly... but they'd be more like a "point and shoot" type of car. I found that just going from 15 inch rims to 17s with a lower profile has made quite some difference... also swaybars help too, decent shocks, springs... going straight from a stock car into one with all these mods... makes the Camry feel like a sports car from driving one :) Things like CAI will do stuff all really... negligible. I'd be just dropping in a K&N Panel filter... If you can get ahold of one of the tuned y pipes from the states (unlikely, but can always try), have been told these can help a bit... Anthony has one on his car. TRD Supercharger is your only luck for some nice power... good luck :)
  9. Hey mate, Depending on the engine you have will depend on where you have to fill the coolant up... who knows... might be the same as mine. My filler cap was right next to the engine block, on the top... between the spark plugs and intake plenum, to the left... metal cap. Having a proper seal on the caps are essential. All rad and filler caps can handle different amounts of pressure. For my 3VZ engine the rad tank uses a 1.1 compression and the filler is 1.0. Just so happens that the shop didn't have any 1.0s in stock so I got a 1.4 lol... stronger's better than weaker! I'd also be checking that there's no leftover blocks from any residual grit caught up in the radiator. Drain all coolant, get a hose, chuck it in either the top or bottom of the radiator and see if anything bad comes out... should be clear water. Fill up the cooling system a good 2-3 times with water, let the engine get to normal operating temps to allow the coolant to circulate... crank the heat up on the A/C for the heater core to open up... did it on mine 3 times and still had excess coolant :o hahaha I'd hit up the Toyota Long Life Coolant with some distilled water... seems to be the best for the Cammas :)
  10. d00d, I barely stepped foot in NSW, let alone know where you're talkin about LOL! I been to Byron Bay twice for Auscam Annual Camp in December? Hahaha I spose having a decent looking car has its disadvantages ay? Parking in right angle carparks... speedbumps... gutters... potholes... people in the back... etc etc.
  11. Wow... that just sounds totally wrong right from the start. First of all, are you an automated bot? 2nd of all, what's a Prominent? You from Australia? 3rd of all... there shouldn't BE an amp.
  12. Sean, Do you go over the speed bumps on an angle? you'll need to go over slllooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy lol... Been in a car, lowered, kit, 5 people in the car... we did it ever so slowly doing it this way... didn't scrape at all. Only time we scraped was around 80km/h and going over some sudden slopes... hit bump stops and scraped on the back LOL was fun.
  13. Mate, you'll know if you've blown the head gasket... you'd have either milky engine oil, bubbles consistently outta the neck of the radiator... white smoke out the back of the exhaust maybe... normally the gasket will either force the coolant into the engine oil or into the exhaust or something like that. ALSO - make sure both the radiator tank cap and filler neck caps are WORKING! ahahaha... normally the rubber ring on the inside of the cap is worn out or the pressure release valve is not doin it's job anymore. I had to replace my filler cap recently when I found the engine coolant boiling over... found that there was barely any pressure from the cap and was surging back into the overflow resovoir. Replaced the coolant on Saturday, new cap... workin like a champ :P
  14. Just remember this: Camry 4 cylinders can pull up to 1 tonne... maybe a bit more for a V6. Check that you can put the Transmission into "Power" mode too... there's a button on the console for that. Camrys have a useless cooling system in the first place, tranny fluid is normally quite thin and gets hot easily... I have heard of someone upgrading their radiator for the tranny fluid, the gears are a tad quicker changing (bit more kick in the changes) most likely from the thicker viscousity of the oil... he hasn't had any issues since. I'd be trying with the "Power" button on first.
  15. First thing to remember as well: Allow ALL the bubbles to stop before you put the cap back on. Last thing you need is an airlock. You could be there for a few minutes through to 1/2 an hour or longer!
  16. oh d00d, you'll have to get an alignment once it's done. the castor kit doesn't just help with how flat the tyre sits on the road, but if you have a "toe-in" or "toe-out" issue with the wheel not sitting straight... weird on how to describe it.
  17. Yeah, this can happen quite easily... I had to get a castor kit put on the front wheels... easy as. I got one of the local fulcrum dealers to install on here... do an alignment, came up fine. Can't remember the cost though.
  18. Yeah, There's a couple of other things that can be done... bearings, seals etc etc... spark plugs... etc etc. But yeah, always replace the water pump when doing the timing belt...
  19. No thermostat? lol Yeah, 4 cylinder Camrys run around 45%, V6s usually sit around 48-50%... Can anyone here then advise for the 3VZs with the oil driven fans... where to locate the device that triggers the fan to activate when getting too hot? I've had a problem with it before, on and off... thought there was something at the radiator that has a wire directly to the ECU to activate the fan at the higher speed when needed?
  20. Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... Just... pffffft. 24 inch? FFS...
  21. Well... you can always say that you're "different" from the rest? Never heard of Green engine oil...
  22. GTP kits... *drools* There are the TRD kits too (good luck for both GTP or TRD kits) and there's also an aftermarket kit or two available... have seen three different variables. I know of a bloke called GCCL on Auscam... I think he's selling a Gen 4 kit? Off his 98 or 99 Camry... dunno if it was the full kit or just the sideskirts, but yeah.
  23. Looks good mate, They make ya look at the rims... adds more colour to the car :)
  24. Wow... sounds interesting... never heard of this problem before. Quite detailed on what you did to make sure everything's been reset. Sounds like the ECU needed some time off :)
  25. Hey mate... these things are always getting those leaks (well, you'll hear more about them these days as they get older) but yeah... if the bolts being tightened don't fix the problem, replace the gasket... pretty normal these days. I can't think of anywhere else that it could leak from where the oil's coming from.
