  1. Roughly 15+ minutes ago. Bungaree Road traffic light, right turn to Leach Highway. Spotted: Greddy_Es's Sexy Red/ Black MR2 on Leach Highway traveling towards the opposite direction I'm heading to.
  2. Nice find! This makes me wish I was driving a Corolla instead of a RAV4. I mean, you guys do get more stuff when it comes to aftermarket parts.
  3. The incandescent red bit is for the European-spec Corolla's rear fog lights (While they are extra tail/ brake lights with the JDM-spec cars.). Onto the indicator & reverse lights, well, the previous generation Toyota Wish, Prius & current Estima/ Tarago/ Previa also employ a similar layout (LED brake/ tail lights + incandescent indicator & reverse lights.). I would guess that DEPO is also after an OEM-like kind of layout.
  4. Wow! Finally, you managed to find them! B) Ouch about the cost though. Wonder if this has got something to do with it coming from a Japanese seller (I'm under the impression that new JDM accessories are expensive, seeing how much they go for back home.). Perhaps another method is to stalk/ pester the eBay UK sellers, ask TOC UK to organize a group buy or something else. EDIT: Dug out more info Yahoo Auction Buy It Now Price: 24,800 Yen ($312) Source: http://page15.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/t153430589 Actual Price (On the K-Loop website.): 25,250 Yen ($317) Source: http://www.k-loop.co.jp/hoom-peji/hp-tail-led/5-arex.html
  5. There is actually a story behind that. The owner of the ruined 2004 Elantra was given a brand new Elantra Touring (i30 CW) from Hyundai Auto Canada after that incident. http://www.autoblog.com/2009/11/02/video-h...st-parking-job/
  6. This would make a good runabout to uni & back! heheh Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  7. That's the pre-facelift. This is the current (Facelift) model (1.5G, shown with optional Aero Styling Package.). http://toyota.jp/corollarumion/index.html Seeing that the American xB has not been updated yet (At least cosmetically.), I wonder if we'll get the styling of the US version (Hope we do. Off-center bumper reverse light FTW!). http://www.scion.com/#xB_overview
  8. Won't be long till the accessory shops there copy the bodykit (As usual.). heheh Those stock wheels can actually be bought (The largest you could go is 17 inches. Source of info.), just that it's not on the Japanese TRD website. Probably a Thai TRD accessory. Yeah, foglights used to be standard on the 1.8 G (High Spec, with factory HIDs too!) & E (Mid Spec), till the 2.0 models came out last year.
  9. Launched on the 13th of February in Thailand, the additions are mostly visual. Based on the 1.6E & 1.8E models, the extra stuff gained are; -Full TRD Sportivo bodykit (Front, side, rear skirting and rear spoiler). -Dark smoked headlights & rear license plate garnish. -16 inch twin-spoke TRD wheels (Smoke Chrome). -Two-tone dark grey/ grey interior. -Dark wood interior trim. -Dark grey lower center console trim (Replaces wood trim on 1.8E & Bright silver trim on 1.6E.). -Limited to 2,000 Units. -Taillights with clear indicators (First seen on last year's 1.6 SS-I). -TRD Sportivo decal on rear door. -Available in Super White or Black Mica. 10. Came across this while browsing through AltisClub. A VIP style Corolla Altis. Original thread on AltisClub (Lots of pics there.)
  11. I love the FJ. Hope Toyota Japan gives the Aussie market the option of a diesel engine (Should be possible, seeing that it's based off the Prado platform.). This would also be good news for the parallel importers in some Asian countries (No longer need to import an LHD unit & have it converted to RHD. Just source one from Australia.). Onto the Aussie-bound, Toyota-badged Scion xB. I hope that what we're getting is an actual Toyota-badged xB (With RHD headlights & amber rear indicators.) and not the Corolla Rumion (JDM Scion xB with a different front end.). xB2 http://www.scion.com/#xB_overview Corolla Rumion http://toyota.jp/corollarumion/index.html Though I wish we could import the 2nd Gen Toyota bB (What the xB2 should have been, a Yaris/ Vitz-based tall wagon like the original.) down under. Jumping from the 1.5 1NZ (xB1) to the 2.4 2AZ (xB2) is a huge jump IMO, the 1.8 2ZR would have been just right. Nope. The xD (2nd gen. Toyota iST) replaced the xA (1st gen. Toyota iST.).
  12. Welcome to the club. Nice to see another WA member on the boards. Mind if I ask, where in WA are you from?
  13. Gong xi fa cai! And also a Happy Valentines Day to everyone too! Speaking of fireworks, just saw one earlier today :)
  14. The little red section on the taillight is actually for the rear foglight of the Thai/ Taiwanese spec Camry, though it could be used for an extra taillight (Extra LEDs anyone? heheh), similar to the ZZE Corolla hatch JDM taillight mod. The pre-facelift cars also have something like that, for the rear foglight function.
  15. On most JDM cars with factory HIDs, they either came with auto leveling, or a manual leveling knob (Also, some with washers, some without.). Even some JDM cars (Usually the mid range model.) and Euro-market Toyotas (Not sure if it's all of them or only some models though.) with Halogen lights came with the manual leveling knob. Here's a photo of the switch in a pirated first-gen. Toyota bB (Great Wall Coolbear.). The basic shape of the switch is the same as the one in the second gen. RAV4, ZZE Corolla and most pre- 2000 Toyotas. EDIT: Me a noob, forgot to add pic to post.
  16. Looks like I'm the only one in WA with a KDM-spec Genesis Coupe.... ... brochure. :P If only I have the real thing. Here are some photos of body kitted Genesis Coupes; Tomato A&P (Yup, you heard that right.) Hi Res Image-> http://www.tomatoanp.com/en/uploads/galler...0605_gc-set.jpg http://www.tomatoanp.com/front/auto/auto_GenesisCoupe-T.asp Ixion Design http://www.ixiondesign.co.kr/image/product...pe/gencoupe.htm FNB Vega kit Having seen the Genesis Coupe in person, it is nice, very sporty inside, but I prefer the larger, luxury-oriented Genesis Sedan (KDM Competitors: Lexus GS/ BMW 5/ MB E Class) model & the Equus more (Korean S-class/ Lexus LS/ BMW 7 Series fighter.). The new one wasn't launched yet though, at the time.). One thing I find to be unusual is that the Genesis Sedan's brochure is thinner (Seeing that it is supposed to be Hyundai's luxury car.) and isn't glossy, unlike the Coupe's brochure. Speaking of KDM luxury cars, love the Chairman W too, it is very different from the previous gen., oddball Chairman.
  17. If you're after a Chinese sourced unit, you might want to consider the dig options unit. There's a discussion on them in the Aurion section of the forum (They also have the regular Toyota 2 DIN unit.). http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...showtopic=23340
  18. While V-Power is available down under (Excluding WA.) ours is 98RON. Not sure if you'll be okay with that, Caltex also stock Vortex 98 & BP with its Ultimate (98), both which are available in WA. http://www.shell.com.au/home/content/aus/p...s/shell_vpower/ http://www.bp.com/genericsection.do?catego...ntentId=7028867 http://www.bp.com/genericsection.do?catego...ntentId=7028867
  19. lol how do they plan to bring new trd's over when trd stopped making them? interesting though... sure as hell didnt expect them to be exported to other countries... :D This is a parallel import (In other words, not brought in by the authorized distributor.). On top of the taxes, imported cars require a New or Used AP (Some kind of expensive permit to import a vehicle.) in Malaysia. PI dealers would bring new cars with a used car permit though (Something to do with taking advantage of a loophole (e.g. Some brands might be impossible to import through grey channels with a new car permit.) and paying less in taxes/ duties.) Oh yeah, the yearly road tax there is calculated based on the engine size too, so 3.5L car= Ouchie.
  20. Going through the motoring section of a Malaysian newspaper, I came across this. Nice IS-F too. btw, 300,000 Malaysian Ringgit= AUD 98,933.52 (Converted at time of posting.) A member in one of the local Toyota car clubs works with them. I'll try to get him to find out the serial numbers of the two TRDs and hopefully, get the future owners to join TOCAU. :) Source: http://cbt.com.my/091217/mad-toyotas
  21. Coming across this thread, I did a little bit of reading. -Although the headlights wouldn't feel warm when you put your hand in front of it, the LED chips require the use of a heat sink due to the heat they generate. -Early versions of the Lexus LS600h headlights consume 50 watts per headlight, while the second generation LED headlight system (Also used in the Prius III, RX450h & HS250h.) produces 33 watts per headlight. -The LEDs used in these headlights might be different from those found on the usual eBay LED strips. A photo of the LED headlights switched on, and a view from the driver's perspective (Note: Not my photos.). Some links from my little research. http://blogs.motortrend.com/6307569/techno...ogen/index.html http://www.caranddriver.com/features/09q3/...ights-tech_dept http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls460-ls46...-as-the-ls.html http://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-third-g...non-vs-led.html http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii-2010-p...s-low-beam.html http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii-2010-p...light-swap.html http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii-2010-p...s-pictures.html http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii-2010-p...headlights.html
  22. Here's what looks like it could be an original Toyoda AA (The first production Toyota vehicle.), although it has been hacked up/ modified to keep it running along the years (The car below was also converted to LHD at one point.). http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/blog/2009/...ered-in-russia/ http://www.japanesenostalgiccar.com/forum/...asc&start=0 Original links (In Russian)-> http://forums.drom.ru/1079576831-post250.html http://forums.drom.ru/1079692953-post289.html Story on the Toyoda AA (1987 Toyota Automotive Museum Replica) http://members.iinet.net.au/~stepho/books/...enger%20Car.jpg http://members.iinet.net.au/~stepho/books/...enger%20Car.jpg
  23. Wow, you went to Thailand? Which parts did you travel to? Did you visit the Thailand Motor Expo (It's twice a year.) by any chance? I miss Thailand so much. Love the people (Friendly, and good looking too! I remember hanging around Siam Square after my course everyday, looking at students of the opposite gender from uni (No dirty thoughts here.).), food (I miss look joob!), culture, Japanese/ Korean influences (JPOP/ KPOP, Cosplay events & etc.) and obviously, the cars (A lot of nice parallel imports and even the cars that be bought from the usual authorized dealers, more variety than what I get in Malaysia or even Australia.).
  24. There's one in Booragoon :) http://www.prestigesunroofswa.com.au/
  25. This was my first long distance cruise, and I enjoyed it. I'd like to thank Cypher for organizing the cruise & lunch. :)
