  1. Just a tip as well if you decide to re-trim your seats. At the same time, see if you can get some extra side bolstering like the TRD. Depending on how hard you like to corner, the extra support is quite comforting.
  2. Try this one: The new and improved FLYZR6 The leather goodness is on the second page.
  3. Um... did anyone actually pick up on the joke I made about those R-Style headers? If not, someone please tell me what isn't right with the R-Style ones. Don't forget to buy that as well. It will bolt right up to the engine with a perfect fit. The fourth pipe just doesn't get used, that's all. As for the other ones from MWR, they do require a bit of custom work, but they do have gains. 00UCH what a Aurion!!!!
  4. When I had my 07 SX6, I loved the wheels that it had... hence my cleaning comment. Later down the line I bought some Kappa rims and I soon learnt just how easy it really was to clean the stock wheels. Anyways, all the details on that car can be found in my original thread: DJKOR's Aurion It's hard to comment without seeing the car in person, but even though the market value is showing less than what you paid for it, it doesn't necessarily mean you payed too much. It all comes down to how good of a condition the car is in. Sometimes though, you just have to be in the right place at the right time to get an absolute bargain.
  5. Sweet shots Ash. Gives the car that electric vibe.
  6. Unless of course you drive through a defect station like I almost did today (outside Garden City for those that are around Brisbane).
  7. I wouldn't have said that without reason. It is 2.3cm wider and 0.7cm longer than the Aurion filter. In other words, it won't fit in the Aurion filter housing.
  8. I personally think the opposite. In my opinion, the design of the facelift rims make them 'appear' slightly smaller than the pre-facelift ones. ... and the pre-facelift rims are WAY easier to clean
  9. Otherwise, if you can source some FRAM filters from the States, this would be the one you would be looking for: http://www.framcatalog.com/PartDetailWindow.aspx?b=F&pn=CF10285 Edit: BTW, that second filter you linked to for the previous model Camry will not fit the Aurion.
  10. It's there so I don't reverse into the Ferrari at La Dolce Vita :P I can still see what's in front of my car though. Looking out the back of the car and gauging distance is not as simple as looking out your windscreen. I didn't install the parking sensors as well :P.

    JOKES !!!!

In response to the previous post.... Um, I've seen my fair share of lame a** jokes, and well... I'm lost for words on that one.
  12. Considering the S/C alone is about $4,800 from Toyota brand new and the ECU is around the $3,000 mark, if you picked this S/C up for a good price, it would be a cost efficient upgrade to get a little more fun out of your Aurion.
  13. These engines are rather noisy and the 'issue' you have described is nothing out of the ordinary for these engines and something that you won't really be able to get fixed. There is another knocking noise on cold startup to be made aware of though. It happens for a couple/few seconds at the most and is rather loud like marbles in a can. It's caused by the VVT-i controller and in most cases, it only occurs around the 15,000km mark for the non-TRD, and around the 10,000km mark for the TRD. An oil and filter change gets rid of it though and it doesn't seem to have any detrimental effects otherwise.
  14. Injectors, the bracket that is at the end of the snout (but would be easy to get made), and a modified VVT-i oil line. Apart from that, you would pretty much be set. You can probably save money by getting an aftermarket ECU and will probably get more out of it at the same time so it would seem like a win.
  15. Good writeup Andrew. Here's a question out of curiosity. How fun do you think it would be to change the spark plugs later when required? Edit: I'm not sure if it's my connection or PC, but at this point in time, those manual links are not working for me.
  16. Seems like good value if someone is willing and can source the rest of the bits for a good price.
  17. My Aurion is pretty well 'sealed' against most strong odours when the air mix is set to 'fresh'. The occasional truck etc can put some bad smells into the cabin, but this isn't too often. Maybe it's just your crappy Melbourne air Then again, I drive with my windows down 95% of the time, so I can only really comment for the other 5%. On topic though, as mentioned it is an activated carbon filter. They won't block everything, but can make a difference depending on the severity of what it is blocking. As for the front parking sensors, there is nothing stopping you from wiring up another couple for the very front of the car, but you won't be able to integrate it into the existing system. It will either have to replace the front side ones, or be an additional system. But really... you can't judge distance at the front?
  18. I had used lithium grease from day one of fitting mine. Sportivo went through something like 50,000km, never got squeaks. TRD has so far gone through 25,000km and I am yet to get any squeaks. Each to their own.

    SPAM Thread

If anyone here has bidded on the following item, boy you are such a sucker. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TOYOTA-AURION-TRD-2006-2010-SPROTS-AIR-FILTER-NEW-/270625274777?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories
  20. Yeah mate. As said, you definitely got yourself a bargain. Great stuff. Or better still, ask a mod nicely to move this thread to the 'Members Rides' section and build it up from there.
  21. I don't usually like to post just to say I've cleaned my car, because at the end of the day, it's something that is a part of the car's life. But today's cleaning was much more significant than the usual clean. At one point I was pretty picky about keeping my TRD well waxed etc etc. Then the Annual Meet happened. Prior to today, the last time I waxed my car/cleaned it with such passion was the day before the meet. Boy did I learn from my mistakes today (well kinda). Not doing any maintenance spray waxes etc had resulted in a fair coverage of these little dots of road grime/tar on the sides of the car which claying alone could not really remove. Had to attack it all bit by bit until it was all cleaned up. One conclusion I reached today as well is that I don't really want to clay this car again. Maybe that decision may change in the future, but right now I feel that when that time comes again, I am willing to pay someone to do it. So I started washing her from 10:45am. The house next door is currently for sale and was open house for the morning. A couple went in to view around 11am, and by the time they left at around 11:30am, I was still drying my car. The reason I mentioned that is because later on at around 2pm, they drove past the house again (to show someone else it appears), and it was quite funny to see their 'WTF' expression as they drove by and could still see me cleaning the car; I was waxing it at this point in time. Anyways, finally by 4pm I was all complete. I've had enough of this for now. I figured I'll take some photos to remind me of what it should look like and here is the end result of my 5 hour cleaning spree.
  22. It's not hard to calculate your average fuel economy yourself though... and is more accurate. The average speed function is pretty much useless as well. You're quite right DJKOR. I'm sorry for looking like a noob just because I'm new here, I am actually one of the old stalwarts of the ford forums. Nothing wrong with the question in the first place. I'm pretty much just saying that for the cost and potential difficulty in getting the Sportivo cluster to work (in the event that the wiring harness is slightly different) it will probably not be worth it for the additional features that the cluster has. Basically it's just looks.
  23. I would have to disagree with that statement. I have had rotors that have gone though a few consecutive pad changes without a single machining. If anything, machining the rotors would create a higher chance of your rotors glazing as there is now less material on them to be able to handle heat.
  24. Personally I don't find it hard to read. If I was to say anything was slightly more difficult to read, it would have to be the forum listings and the post listing. But that said, it's not an issue. It's just the original blue layout was nicer on the eyes.
