  1. It's not missing mate. Get a small mirror and look harder. The switch is part of the light assembly, so if that is there, the light assembly is as well. You can even see the two wires that go to the light. The light doesn't exactly sit flush with the top of the cut out.
  2. LOL. Love it. To update on this, while I was at work today, I thought I would call up the guy selling the silver TRD here. Luckily enough, he lives in the city and works in the city. This would explain it's low k's. Conveniently he took it in for a service today and offered to swing by my hotel across the road from where I am working so that I can inspect it. I must say, at first I was questioning about getting silver, but the moment I saw it in the flesh... I was hooked. I had a good talk with him and inspected the car... and made my decision to buy it. The car is completely immaculate. A deposit has now been made to secure the deal as well since there also happens to be someone else interested in it. The other person interested happens to be a Queenslander as well, so if you are on here or come across this... sorry mate. And it is Build Number 0098.
  3. The glove box light uses a T5 style bulb. The proper way to access it is by removing the glove box, but if you are good enough and careful with a pair of needle-nose pliers, you can change the bulb through the opening in the glove box.
  4. Yuck. Lucky you were paying attention mate. I didn't quite flick through all the photos. Definitely not on the list anymore. Thanks for pointing that out. I know, it's so tempting. But I don't think I can handle cleaning it daily for it to look perfect. Unfortunately, my budget does not really accommodate such a high price tag. I'm not the one for spending a huge amount on my daily driver. It just happens that the payout ended up recovering the cost of the car itself, plus a fair bit more so I feel like being a bit conservative with my spending.
  5. Well to update on all this, I was starting to get worried that it may take a while before this all gets sorted. It was 14 days ago that they said they would call me (in a few days) to organise payment and up to this time, I still haven't received a call. I thought I would just be sure and rang home then and asked for any letters with no indication of where they came from to be opened. And with a sigh of relief, there is my cheque from AAMI. I guess I can say that I'm happy that everything was sorted out... but it still would have been nice to get a call from them. Either way though, that's sorted, so all I have to do now is wait for it to be deposited and then I can organise a new set of wheels. Oh the dilemma begins again. Well the black TRD I was looking at before in NSW is no longer for sale/sold, so that takes it off the list. However, in addition to the silver on that is available here in SA, there is also a black one. Both have similar k's on the clock, are in the same condition, and cost roughly the same. Only thing is, the black one has a set of aftermarket wheels on it, where I would think the TRD ones would be the better ones to have. They still look alright though. So now the black vs. silver argument has started in my head again... despite already realising which would be the wiser choice.
  6. Just so you know, the Aurion steering wheel controls do NOT use CANBUS. I would consider disconnecting your battery (or unplugging the head unit) for at least 30 minutes to let it reset nd see if that fixes it first.
  7. Nup. It's just your basic door open detection.
  8. Well there isn't too much that is used to set the alarm off. Could possibly be a faulty door/bonnet switch
  9. Each to their own mate, but it's your safety/money at play there. Regardless of the ignition being on or not, the airbag control module can still have power applied to it. Having an airbag go off in your hands is not going to be a pretty sight. I've done that a few times. Only issue with it is that it is rather easy for the airbag to slide off and then probably break the leads. I've had a couple of scares when it has stated sliding that way before.
  10. Does this happen only after you have locked your car, or also when it is unlocked? Either way.. if the car alarm is going off randomly, then that definitely sounds like a fault.
  11. Sounds to me like you may have a leaf stuck in your blower motor. If you know your way around, you can remove the motor and fan blade section of the blower (it will drop down from behind the glove box), and you can then clear out anything that may be jammed in there. Just a possibility.
  12. Looking good there Andrew. Getting so close now. Out of curiosity by the way, from the moment you dropped your car off to CES, how long did they need to keep your car to get the intake done? A day... or more than a day?
  13. To add to that, you should disconnect your battery and wait at least 90 seconds before disconnecting the airbag. Then after that, it shouldn't matter if your accidentally turn your ignition on while the airbag is disconnected. But the whole disconnecting the battery thing isn't for this reason... it's for safety reasons. That said, I still feel a little bit on the edge every time I have to unplug an airbag. The through of it going off kind of scares me. Ingres, you saw me remove your airbag before when I fitted your foglights right?
  14. Try having a look at this kit from R.Style Racing or similar: http://www.rstyleracing.com/index.aspx?Pro...091205070560328 For costs, you will need to enquire with them.
  15. If you were satisfied with how the OEM pads performed, then there really isn't a need to change them to something else. The fronts are a reasonable price from Toyota as well. Otherwise, one type of brake pad I would recommend is QFM HPX, but this is only based on my own experience. You can pick these up for $79 plus delivery from GSL Rallysport. If you order them in the morning as well, Greg can have the courier deliver it by the afternoon as well for those in Brisbane.
  16. The slower gear changes are common among all Aurions. This is a family car remember. With that in mind, the slow gear changes are there to improve comfort whilst it changes gears. In most cases, you shouldn't feel it change gears. Unfortunately though, some people have developed the issues above where it changes roughly.
  17. Mate... that looks effing mint. Absolutely love it.
  18. Same goes for me a well. Having a passenger is the most helpful thing to have when driving long distances. Someone to talk to helps keep you alert. Also useful when travelling in packs since if I was driving on my own, I would take the occasional powernap in a truck bay which would mess up the whole travelling arrangement. Ahhh... the one thing I love about the Aurion. 16+ hours non-stop interstate driving and it doesn't mess your back up... in the short term anyways. I'll be sticking to the speed limit... maybe up to 10km/h over. Can't afford any tickets really. Plus the more I've done interstate driving, the more I like to take it easy.
  19. The Brisbane crew should eventually organise a time that we can drive down together if that is something we want to do.
  20. Just to debunk that thought, I have run equal 1/4 mile times with the Varex closed compare to open. Thanks to the dual muffler of the Aurion, restriction is reduced. Each to their own mate. If they want it, they want it.
  21. It was open 95% of the time, and when closed... I could have easily have gone with it open. For the price I payed for it, I could have got more done to the exhaust. Therefore, when it comes to the TRD, I'm putting the money where it belongs.
  22. This is true. The new car smell you get is all the chemicals etc used during manufacture. They aren't particularly good for your health, so letting the car get ventilation is a good idea. Despite that, I would rather breathe these harmful chemicals because it sure smells nice. Like when working around painters in a construction site. It's such a nice smell On a side note, I'm not sure about the truth to this, but I was once told that the greasy substance that builds up on your interior car windows is actually from the chemicals released from the plastics in your car when they are heated. That would make sense though, and if this is true, it just shows that these chemicals are in the air inside your car. As said though, it's all about dose. I wouldn't be concerned about it shortening your life. There are probably hundreds of other things out there far worse.
  23. Of course I won't. That was a pointless purchase... but something I'm not ashamed of buying. Anyways, I'm aiming to keep the exhaust note as tame as possible (if that's even possible). The intake is where I want the noise to be.
  24. That's what I thought CTP insurance was for. Or am I thinking of the wrong thing. Also I thought that your standard comprehensive insurance also covers third party property damage as well up to a rather large amount.
  25. DJKOR

    Fines...

If they send you a letter in return, just tell your parents it's for something else. It's none of their business to know what is inside. The envelope shouldn't give anything away. It would just have 'RTA' on it or thereabouts right? Make something up. Just say it was some young drivers' survey or something.
