  1. This is where a multi-meter would be handy. You would need to see whether or not that +12v line you tapped into (AUX power) is actually switching off as required. Remember, the amp only needs a very small current to trigger the remote power. It could also be possible that your amp is at fault and is not switching off properly when the power to the remote trigger is cut. I return tonight and have some spare time tomorrow if you want me to check it all out for you. Can't believe that was your problem all along. At least you got some new injectors out of it.
  2. Finally got to get close enough to one to be able to drool over it. I would so buy one if I had the money. I just had to take photos... unfortunately with my phone: One thing I noticed is how good the driving position is. It is hard to explain, but you feel secure enough to not slide all over the place, yet it's so comfortable that it feels like you are sitting in a luxury saloon.
  3. I wouldn't call that strange. That's good thinking. My old man used aircraft landing lights on his old car back in the day since they were so great for deserted roads. As for my strangest mods, I think that one has to go to the remote start and keyless ignition for my old SV21 Camry. Never needed to use the key again. Made hotwiring the car extremely easy though for anyone who knows a little about electronics.
  4. Spotted just then: A black Corolla Sportivo with TRD badging outside of the Hyatt Regency Adelaide. Plates ending in '73L'.
  5. These aren't Boost losing meets I don't think there is a need to find somewhere else.
  6. Don't tell me our good 'ol meeting spot has finally been noticed by the cops.
  7. Yeah pretty much those things, I couldn't care less about them to be honest, it doesn't bother me at all to leave it on, I actually think the door looks a bit plain without them. I was tossing up on a few occasions whether or not to remove them. I eventually decided to leave them on because I just don't trust anyone in a car park these days. So many people out there who have no respect for your car.
  8. On that topic Phil, what did you ask? I faxed in my form in a few weeks back on a Saturday and my account was charged by the end of the day. I then called up on Monday to ask if it was processed properly and she said that if it charged my account, then it should be fine. I didn't really feel confident with that response so I asked her to get a receipt number for me. She said that with that I have proof of registering. I'm not overly confident with that response though and don't know what else I should ask. Do you think I would be fine?
  9. It's quite interesting to see how easily people give up on researching these days. I guess that's how people are getting though. Anyways, here is one of my answers to get you started: The way the back seat is held down is quite shocking. In most cars you have a tab you can pull on to release it, but unfortunately on the Aurion it is just a matter of pulling the seat up with some force. There are two 'clips' that hold the seat down and it is best to squeeze your hand as close to the clip as possible and pull up. If you have larger hands, you can use a long screwdriver to lever it up. It's kind of hard to explain; but if you use a torch and look under the front end of the seat while trying to raise it, you will see what I mean. Once that is out, you can remove the back rest portion of the seat by removing three bolts that are located near the bottom of the seat belts. In addition, there are step-by-step instructions in the appropriate service manual: http://www.camrystuff.com/manuals/Gen6/2GR-FE/Seat.pdf (page 47)
  10. Some tire shops are picky about that matter. Usually if they have a problem with something like that (going wider while maintaining diameter and suitability for rim width), then I would try someone else.
  11. The foam is there for crash absorption. My Aurion has nearly all of the front side quarter panels filled with black foam as well. You may not think it, but that polystyrene foam can actually absorb quite a bit of impact. So it's not really a stupid idea. Think about it... bicycle helmets are pretty much made completely out of it, and motorcycle helmets are lined with it. And yeah, I also have that fabric material in the rear wheel arches. Surprisingly though, it cleans rather easy and looks cleaner than the front.

    JOKES !!!!

Little Johnny was in the classroom bored to the back teeth on a Friday afternoon, and the teacher decided to have a game for the kids to get them thinking. “Okay class. Now I'm going to say a famous quote, and the first person to tell me who said that quote, can have Monday off.” said the teacher. 'Who is credited with writing the phrase,'To be or not to be, that is the question’?” asked the teacher. Little Pham Lam Nguyen at the front of the class called out, 'Shakespeare'. 'Well done!' said the teacher, 'You can have Monday off.” 'No thank you Miss. I am of Vietnamese origin and it is in our culture to study as hard as we can, so I will be here on Monday studying hard.' said Little Pham Lam Nguyen. 'Well okay,' said the teacher. The next quote is, “I had a dream!” Little Fri Sum Kat also at the front yelled out “I bereiva it was Martin Ruther King!” “Well done!” said the teacher. 'You can have Monday off” “No thanka you miss. I am of Chinese oligin and we also do not take time offa school. Education is evelything to us, so I will be in on Monday studying hard too.” said little Fri Sum Kat. 'Okay,' said the teacher. Then she heard a voice from the back of the classroom, “F#^*ing Asians!” “Who said that?” yelled the teacher in an angry tone. “Pauline Hanson!” yelled little Johnny. “See ya Tuesday!!!!”
  13. You will have to bring your own oil in and ask them to use that. They won't use any other oil if you don't provide it.
  14. If I was to suggest anything, it would be to remove the chrome trim around the tail lights. That looks nasty. Each to their own though. I spotted that same guy back in February. He ruined a good Aurion.
  15. If you really want to upsize your tire for a little bit of a fatter look, I would recommend stepping up to a maximum of 205/55R15. The general guide (note, does not always work) is to step up one level in tire width and down one level with profile. As for legalities, so long as you are very close to the original rolling diameter and have the same or greater load/speed rating, you should be fine. Using the following calculator, you can obtain differences in rolling diameter etc: 1010 Tires: Tire Size Calculator

    Evo's 1zz

Hopefully in the sense that Evan was thinking of. Otherwise it will be CYA-122. just messing with ya man. I can't wait till your done.
  17. I won't be yet again. I will still be in Adelaide at that time.
  18. Not really. It's not going to be taking boost or anything like that. For uses like this, whatever is easiest for you to get and suits your budget. You can get the ThermalFlex stuff (blue reinforced silicone hose) from Autobarn for around $3 per inch.
  19. This reminds me. I said I didn't want to go there again, but I now want to go back to Willowbank. Was watching One HD the other day and saw they have a new LED Christmas tree and green time board. I'm a bit of an electronics nut and wouldn't mind checking it out
  20. I didn't mean a description of it in general, I meant details and/or photos of the actual one that is made for the 2GR. Maybe starting with the brand. Can you provide proof of this? I would seriously doubt you got any gains unless your original spark plugs were stuffed.
  21. I was always under the impression that the lower range ZZE's have only a driver front airbag whereas the upper range had bouble that by adding a passenger front airbag. You will always have yellow wiring to your seats in any airbag equipped car regardless of side airbags or not because the airbag control module needs to know whether there is someone in the seat and what position it is in so that it can adjust the airbag accordingly.
  22. You should probably ask over on the Ultra Racing sub-forum. That's what it is there for. Last news of it was that it doesn't fit: Really disappointed with ZRE bars
  23. You know my response when it comes to Sportivo's and the mesh grill and eyelids. Black FTW. Keeps it "sporty". My only suggestion is to probably put some more mesh behind the grill for a more solid fill. Looking great otherwise.
  24. Hmmm. What gave you the impression you have side airbags?
  25. When I saw the thread title, I thought it was the thread that was already running: Energy Suspension bushings Mostly it seems that they are quite easy to fit once the old ones are out.
