  1. Odds are you won't get many more than on a Thursday night, but I'm listening.
  2. Nice figures, they are the guys who tuned my car, I assume you went to their Chaser day today?
  3. Because it's a Lexus, if you want a tacho, buy one.
  4. If you are implying that I have no idea what I am talking about, my work speaks for itself and many people here can vouch for that. Just to add, you are the one coming to "internet forums" and either trying to justify or second guess your mechanic. If he is that good, trust him and be done with it.
  5. 1st issue: Hard to say without personally looking at it. Balance shaft bearing failure can be just as catastrophic as any other bearing failure. 2nd issue: Your mechanic is an idiot, it is not common for that to happen if you maintain it well. I would suggest you get a new mechanic. 1st issue: Hmmmmmm, not good news 2nd issue: Mechanic is not an idiot, as that's exactly what he said - if it's had a good service history, esp scheduled oil changes, it will be unlikely to blow anytime soon (esp as it only has 102,000 on the clock).....but the service history on the car is unknown (had 92,000 on it when bought). Plugging the oil gallery and removing the balance shafts without balancing the engine is a foolish move. He has filled your head with poor information, that could possibly end in tears, but hey, if you think he's not an idiot, then so be it. Have a nice day.

  7. www.newhilux.net will give you better assistance as there are a lot more Hilux owners there.
  8. White is water/coolant. Blue is oil. Black is fuel.
  9. I suppose I should chime in... Camshaft is near worthless for the cost, the only way to make real power/torque is with a turbo. There used to be a supercharger kit for sale however there were very few made and you will not find one in working order anymore. Either option requires a lot of money and supporting modifications.
  10. If you have put a lightened flywheel and clutch in, you have reduced torque, this can not be put any simpler.
  11. Manufacturer noun noun: manufacturer; plural noun: manufacturers 1. a person or company that makes goods for sale.
  12. Who the hell do you think you are with your rusted out piece of junk, trying to tell people how to modify their car! You are running your car into the ground and expect people to listen to your rubbish advice? Here's a tip, go play in traffic!
  13. Contact the manufacturer of the manifold.
  14. John, these wheels were done by Aquadip which I am pretty sure is in Sydney.
  15. You are cooking the engine, I wouldn't be surprised if you melt a piston with what you have been doing, you have effectively made the cooling system null and void.
  16. Leaks water? If so, check the drain from the base of the evaporator hasn't come loose or split.
